How have they embarrassed themselves more? They've been playing their backup, who without a doubt, has given up some of the softest goals of the year. As a team, not nearly as bad as Detroit has been playing.

The Montreal Canadiens have fired head coach Guy Carbonneau and general manager Bob Gainey will take over behind the bench. Although they got off to a very strong start, the Canadiens have had their struggles this season. They currently sit in fifth in the Eastern Conference standings with 77 points. Associate coach Doug Jarvis, assistant coaches Kirk Muller and Roland Melanson will all be staying with the club. TSN

On thought, I really don't like the idea. It actually doesn't make any sense to me, it seems like another dumb stat to keep track of, it's not as simple as the tie breakers the NHL has today. If they're going to go in that direction, don't award the team who loses in OT or SO a point. That's just my opinion, I like to keep it simple.

Oh come on, when will you ever hear an NHL coach talk brutally honest about a players performance. I'm not jumping on the bashing wagon but we act like we've never heard the phrase sugar coating .
