about time, Tootoo is as Busch league as they come... that clothsline was a LONG time coming you have to have better things to do than spend all day on rival teams' forums defending Jordin Tootoo

The same can be said about Osgood not getting a start as often. Osgood don't start often anymore, but if when he does he is kicking ass and doing better than Dom, as is the case alot of the time, why not play Ozzie more and then go back to Dom and if he is doing better, do the same. It seems unfair and a bit ridiculus that Osgood will play out of his ass and Dom will let in 4 goals on 18 shots and because he is predesignated starter, though I suppose that is just how things are, just makes more sense that the better goaltender should play, and in my OPINION, I think Osgood is a more consistent and reliable goaltender... others are welcome to their opinion, but thats mine...
-
I would definately play Ozzie, he is much steadier in goal, and last night Ozzie actually faced 30 range of shots against a line of Frolov, Kopitar, and Camallerri. Dom is too quick to hit his back and in both performances against the Blackhawks he let in soft goals. Dom is too accustom to making 12 saves on 15 shots on goal, play Osgood until Hasek settles down and gets his head on right

Yeah, while I understand the argument, I refuse to take part, it does damage to my immortal soul to choose between the Euro Twins, like picking your favorite Olson twin...

I hate Tootoo, always have always will... and no matter what anyone says, he is a cheapshot artist. But for me, in fights like this one and many others, I take issue, not with the fact the Tootoo hides behind his visor, but the fact that he rarely ever squares off with his opponent like a man, its almost always a GLOVED sucker punch to start it off. I'd love to see Tootoo square off, circle, and jump into fisticuffs with a honorable fight, like an honorable fighter. Anyone can skate like they are minding their own business, spin the wagon, and clock a poor sucker with his glove.... Notice how Clowe wasn't paying attention to Tootoo and yet Jordin starts swinging away at a guy who ain't looking for the first 5 punches or so

Melrose disgusts me.... Watch the Central Division preview, he looks pissed when discussing the Wings and continues to belittle the Wings as a team... pissin' me off... wow.... and now I just watched the Cup predictions, and of course, same old from Nutsack Melrose, actual physical pain hearing the Wings and proceeds to s*** on the other guys pick, who beat San Jose last year? "Remember, it isn't just winning one 7 game series, its 4", thanks for the lesson, dick

Robert Lang, captain, for real? The guy can't motivate himself. Though with the sorry state the Blackhawks are in, it would be a beautiful accent to their laughable program. I still can't believe there are people who honestly think he should have been the captain here! ARE YOU SERIOUS?! please tell me thats a joke....

they look like regular XL long sleeve shirts. makes gloves and equipment look big and awkward. like kids who used to where the reg. long sleeve shirts with stripes and numbers to look like football jerseys. just looks like low quality second hand crap.... don't know how to explain it. don't like it

I'd say Grigorenko, purely because I wanna see if he lives up to the hype and I'd love to see if he got paired with Datsyuk. Eliminate the unproven factor in Grigs and I say I can't wait to see Fillpula develop into 2nd line center. I think this is his break out year, last year he wasn't given the minutes, but after his playoff showing this past spring, I'm hoping Babs plays him full time. Add Rafalski to the mix and I'm salivating over our line up this season: young and hungry mixed with oldies but goodies

Shanny owns Jagr, and Lidstrom owns Shanny... that was easy

yup, the U.P. is awesome... I'm from Iron Mountain, moving to Milwaukee, WI for school in two weeks though, but I would definately like to make the trip, I got pals at NMU

man, this should be a good time, i'll probably have to make the trip, watch Mickey kick some ass....

just like clock work, thats how i know a new month is coming up, cause every month there is a thread simply titled, "Jiri Fischer" I wish Fisch would be healthy to play and come back, but I don't see it happening. As someone said earlier, Fischer would have lead to no Markov and most probably no Andreas Lilja extension. We would have still had to compensate for the loss of Schneider, so Rafalski signing would be a probable one if Fischer was still playing. Just a matter of cap space.

i agree with you 110% here, and I feel really strongly on these issues. I'll never understand how you can leave a place and talk about how s***ty it was and hard it was, then when you are getting paid millions of dollars to play a game, you absolutely GOTTA go to the club with a gun, because being a 250-325lbs professional football player isn't enough for you do feel like a man.
-
i'm with you, i grew up a HUGE Bulls fan during the Three-Peat years and loved the NBA, wouldn't miss a game, now I can't watch it. Those were the good ol' days when Rodman was the worse you had, and he was actually a pretty good guy. Now NFL and NBA are all thugs...

I think the best thing about the sport of Hockey is the fact that when we do end up on SportsCenter every once in a blue moon, its because of actual good play. I swear, T.O. and Bonds have paid timeslot on SC because we are constantly given updates on stupid non-news bulls***." Oh wait, TO is a classless duesche bag, deja vu, thought that was on yesterday's SportCenter". Its ridiculus that the one sport that doesn't consist of athletes doping, shooting up strip clubs, getting busted on drug charges, or other criminal behavior, and the only sport in which competitors are allowed to stand up and face each other man to man is always brushed off in the states as lame. Just sad that sports have become more about tabloids and scandal and soap-opera then actual competition, fair play, and class. I'll never understand why a great hockey game, 4-5 final decided in closing seconds gets two goals shown, if that, while I have to hear about who TO is calling *** for 10 minutes. And don't even get me started on "Who's Now", Derek Jeter ain't even the best on his team, but hey he dated this celebrity and that celebrity and New Yorkers love him, and thats plenty to beat the only NHL player on the poll. Sports these days are sad as hell, I primarily stick to NHL and NCAA football these days.... and even college football polls have gotten ridiculus...

Happy Birthday Dats, though I can't believe you're 29 now.... damn, seems like yesterday you were a young buck pulling Hull around...

Nashville decision will say a lot about Bettman's legacy
b.shanafan14 replied to Salviaman's topic in General
thought it was a pretty good article. I think Canada could definately use another Franchise. To keep expanding in the U.S. when there are already too many teams in poor markets would be foolish. Move the Preds to Hamilton and be done with it. I wish the U.S. appreciated hockey more and I think its half the fact that NASCAR and Poker are more televised in the states and half that the markets chose for most teams aren't interested. Not everyone in the states love hockey as much as us die-hards, Bettman has to think of something better than expansion and trying to cram hockey down the throats of pissy markets like Kansas City and Las Vegas. How about a team in the U.P. haha, New York has 4 teams.... -
yeah, I noticed that too and right away thought of Cheli's son... not bad though, #64 was my number in sports

hahahaha not worried about the Ducks, if Teemu and Scott Not-Nik-meyer are in fact gone they are not an upgraded team, they can have Bertuzzi and Schneider. I am loving the Rafalski acquistion and looking forward to Grigorenko in the NHL, as well as what I expect to be break out years for Hudler and especially Filppula. Hate the Dallas Drake acquistion cause I never liked the guy when we played against him because of cheapshots (ala Lebda hit), but since we got him for league minimum I guess I can't complain. Really wanted Markov back and it looks like that won't happen. Wanted Kozlov or at least Nolan, but both are signed elsewhere. We still need another top-six forward. Don't really want Yashin (sounds like another Lang) and I know Shanahan most likely won't be back. I have a lot of confidence for next season and I'm loving how our young talent is looking. Though I would have preferred a busier offseason from the Wings.
-
God no! Please not f***kksturd....
-
I'm really hoping for Kozlov, I think he would be a perfect fit. Datsyuk retains #13 [or at least I hope, I think he should], Slava can take #17, or #31... Hopefully Kenny's move comes soon, people are getting restless, myself included

About time some one else stepped up and said it, Go Wings indeed... we are sitting so pretty and few realize it... http://www.letsgowings.com/forums/index.ph...t&p=1114368 My thoughts on Bertuzzi are long winded.... Word

To tell you the complete truth, I am pretty embarrassed for the people that actually put this much stake in the loss of TODD BERTUZZI. Mind you, this isn't the Bertuzzi 2001 model. This is Bertuzzi post-Moore, post-injury. I mean come on people, was that really the best two months of your Winged-Wheel wearing existance? Todd Bertuzzi came here on an 11th hour trade deadline deal and I'd have to say my only regret was him riding the Wings train long enough in the playoffs to cost us more picks. He has for years been a perenially overrated player, probably due to his size and strength. But I would like all of you Bertuzzi lovers to tell me what he provided that was anymore than one Mr. Robert Lang, who we have all recognized as a big name coming from Washington who did nothing but move slow and in most recent years take up cap space. Though due to my LGW monecre I may be seen as bias, I don't care. I see all of this bitching and moaning about how good Bertuzzi could be after a few good seasons years and years ago and two months wearing red and white and these same people said "good riddance, shanny. thanks for the cups, we don't need you". Brendan Shanahan gave the Wings great seasons, year in, year out and still dealt with the role of scapegoat for early round playoff exits. I'm sorry but it baffles the mind that so many supposed Wings fans, tattooed and piss pants over years of endless high-quality play can instantly deficate and swear defeat after the passing of such a blink of the eye, shot in the pants moment as Todd Bertuzzi as a Detroit Red Wing. When in the last decade and a half have we ever been given reason to doubt? We have been so spoiled by great teams that we can't remember that before Yzerman, Lidstrom, Shanahan, the recent years of Datsyuk and Zetterberg, and the insight as to player movement and potential of KEN HOLLAND, the Detroit Red Wings had neither a pot to piss in or a window to throw it out. I am completely confident that whatever happens in the next few days as far as player signing and money management, the Wings will field as potent a team as always and continue on this past year's success and progress toward another Stanley Cup. All we've done so far is cut the fat.... I'm just happy to know I'm not the only one that knows the Wings are better off and that without players like Lang and Bertuzzi, the Wings will be faster and more determined than ever. As other teams look for the quick fix, big name, big money players that sports writers drool over, the Detroit Red Wings will field a cohesive unit that will silently remain at the top of the league. Ain't it a great time to be a Wings fan!
