What could this possibly be at this time of year??
-
What a flop!
-
Nyquist isn't playing well at all tonight. Big kill coming up.
-
Well that was infuriating. Need to be better, Wings and refs.
-
Agree with Mick... Let them play.
-
Way too sloppy thus far....
-
Wake up here and score. About time they call one of these flops.

The Race for Eight: Blue Jackets, Stars, Wings

If the Wings could play like they did the last two games tonight against Nashville and Rinne, they could clinch. That sure would bring my blood pressure down heading into the weekend. Minnesota isn't uncatchable either, easier schedule to end the season, but crazier things have happened than the Wild losing to Edmonton at home and then at Colorado the next day. Either way, Wings win and they don't have to worry about what anyone else is doing. -
Quincey and Smith have been awful. Completely outmatched.
-
Pasha!
-
The Wings are to good to look before passing or shooting.
-
Who didn't see that coming? Wings can't finish then start turning over pucks. Better answer...
-
BRUNNER!
-
Looked good before and for about two minutes after the goal. All Phoenix since. Better wake up... Smith's first full season has been s***.

The Race for Eight: Blue Jackets, Stars, Wings

Here's the update, as of April 22nd: Columbus and Dallas have been trending plenty better than the Wings and Wild over the past 10, but at this point the Wings have the supposed advantage of games in hand. Columbus has the fewest games remaining at two, one of which is against Dallas. The best the Wings can hope for is a game ending in regulation there, and Nashville to beat them in the last game of the season, which may very well decide whether the Wings are in or out, regardless of what we do in our last few games. Dallas plays at San Jose, who has played well of late, before finishing against Columbus and Detroit. Head-to-head to end the season is a REAL must win. Whoever loses is out. The Wings have a game in hand on both Dallas and Minnesota. Minnesota hasn't been playing good down the stretch, much like the Wings, but their final 3 games are against the Kings and bottom-feeders Edmonton and Colorado. Assuming they don't play down to their competition like the Wings, we can assume we won't make up the 3 point spread over our last 4. Columbus can land at 51-55 points (needs win against DAL to stay alive) Minnesota can land at 51-57 points (controls their own destiny) Dallas can land at 48-54 points (needs wins against both CBJ and DET to stay alive) Detroit can land at 48-56 points (needs win against DAL bad) Detroit currently has the tie breaker on Columbus, but not Dallas or Minnesota. Detroit has 3 of 4 at home, but one back-to-back. -
Doesn't help that he is clearly wearing the wrong size suit. He is swimming in that thing. Must be borrowing it from Bert.

How bad is it? Franzen is a consistent threat to score and I haven't seen Datsyuk in what feels like weeks. -

This place is going to be a laughing stock when the BJs beat the Wings out for a playoff spot, and I'll be a primary contributer. This team consistently finds a way to screw the pooch when they are in a win or die situation; its shameful. -
Just calling it what it is. When Jimmy is great, we call him great. Tonight folded like a lawn chair.
-
That one is on Jimmy, period. He has been great but I do wonder what happens to the smug "Jimmy is average /sarcasm" crowd when he takes the s*** he took tonight. This team is playing pretty pitiful top to bottom considering the position they are in.
-
Pathetic all over... Now jimmy wiffs... Dammit
-
Looks like zero urgency thus far. Even after giving up the first goal, we keep turning over pucks.
-
Wings looking sloppy and lazy again tonight.. Saw that coming. Need to wake up!

What an epic, EPIC blunder from the league. First it was "people like goals in hockey, lets screw with things however we have to to increase goals!", now its "people like the WC and its a huge cash cow, lets do whatever it takes to get more of them!" This league is becoming more of a joke by the day....
