Wings PP is suffering from the loss of Franzen and Filppula bad...
-
Wings can never seem to cash in on a PP with the opportunity to get the put-away goal.
-
Ozzy has looked great the last two games, lets see if he can get his game rolling.

No more haircuts for Z. He is like Samson, he needs that s*** long to PWN.
-
Z dumped. No call. Hear "O'hallaran".

Tomas "the Rocket" Holmstrom

Znipe!

haha wow, if you're going to hook, might as well hook like that. these faceoffs are really starting to urk me. there hasn't been a cleanly dropped puck yet.
-
Drop the damn puck! Jeeze... its like the playoffs last season. Quick this pump fake crap and drop the puck!

Did the definition of "racist" change again? It really is too hard to keep up with the PC police.

Exactly. "Go back to Europe!" How dare he...

I thought that line has been pretty damn good so far, and they are only going to get better. Its hard to overstate the impact of a line that consistently fast and tenacious on the forecheck, it causes the opposition to skate that much harder to try and keep up and they eventually start to get rid of the puck a lot faster causing turnovers and miscues.

I agree. Most of the Wings top players were playing somewhere around 65%-75% and along with several fishy incidents still were a goalpost away from a tie in Game 7. I understand no one wants to take anything away from the Penguins cup run, especially not with Sid on the team, but come on . But I think Puck Daddy's list is meant to compare team vs. team based on their skill compared to one another, not most dominant win or how much they deserved to win the year they won it. It which case I have no complaints with the list other than to argue that our cup winning team was a good deal better and healthier than the team that almost ousted the Ducks cup team and should be a bit ahead of them at number 4.

Jeeze, when it rains it pours indeed...

This. It goes from being good, to being angry at how bad they are, then it just becomes funny, like the Maple Leafs and Lions. So hell yeah I would still watch.
-
Yeah, the Kansas City Crosbies are tearing it up

NOOOO.... this is terrible news. I've got nothing else to say.... just curse words.... So much for Flip's break out season...

Apparently Babcock isn't tired of wasting his best players by making them center Bertuzzi. Mlive says he switched Draper and Filppula putting Draper with Leino and Williams and Filppula gets to help Cleary drag around Bertuzzi. http://www.mlive.com/redwings/index.ssf/20...ilppula_ge.html I have to get to class, discuss.

BOOBS! FREE MONEY! I was just making an observation, ironically making my least favorite reply: "why did you post this", compounding the problem of any thread by arguing if it should be a thread. Oh well, fun stuff.
-
Seems to be only three kinds of threads these days: 1) "the Wings will be fixed if..." arguing line changes. 2) "you know who has impressed..." usually I told you so threads, usually giving doubted players more credit then they have actually earned. 3) "don't panic" everyone's favorite counter-productive subject, meant to be positive but 3 replies in becomes only about the teams struggles. Not a great time of year for LGW... ... that said, I agree, I had my doubts about Homer and Maltby and both have been good, not spectacular. And Williams is pretty much what I expected.

Babcock splitting up Filppula line in Practice

I think the same can definitely be said of you, if you honestly believe Bertuzzi has been one of our better, more consistent players. Truth is there is probably a more accurate middle ground as far as Bertuzzi goes, but I'm a skeptic and I'm very far from convinced, whereas you seem to be more pro-Bertuzzi. -
Babcock splitting up Filppula line in Practice

This. I'm not a "stubborn Bertuzzi hater", but I'm definitely not a fan. Bertuzzi has been playing with skillful, creative centers so far this season and has yielded poor results. When Holmstrom got onto the first line, it really became apparent how poor Bertuzzi was at retrieving the puck in the corners and the puck seems to refuse to stay on his stick. I'm all for giving Bertuzzi time to find his game and we've seen instances where he can take control, but most of those instances have happened when he has been demoted. Last game was Bertuzzi's best game and he was on the third line. I think thats his spot until he really turns it around. Other players control the puck better, are better in the corners, and overall seem to work harder than Bert, and until that changes I actually seem him working really well with Draper on the third line, causing problems, mucking it up. Babcock has the tendency to try to force chemistry between players who have none, and Bertuzzi does not fit the style of play with our skilled, European centers. He should earn his spot on the third line, instead we've been giving him chance after chance on the first/second. -

I haven't seen Bert doing well in the dirty areas so far this season. Now Leino-Flip-Cleary on the second line and I'm sold. I think a Bertuzzi-Draper-Williams 3rd line could cause some damage and I think Cleary should be getting more minutes with better linemates. -
jeeze... is it just me, or are there a lot of upper echelon players getting injured so far this season?
-
I think that was pretty damn dirty. That is all head with the puck gone. Thats execution style...
