    YES! .... that is all.

hockeystreams.com - Feedback, worth it? Etc.

How are LGW posters earning cash? Its fine that you hate HockeyStreams for whatever reasons, but your posts earlier about the supposedly horrendous quality and poor usability are baseless. Is it as legitimate a business as GameCenter? No. But its a service and we have the right to pay for it if we like. Also, its quality and reliability are light years above SopCast. What someone does with their dollars is their business. And I definitely suggest HS over GameCenter and SopCast for quality and reliability.

NHL GameCenter - is it worth it?

Hated CenterIce Online, now GameCenter, when I had it. Quality is subpar, blackouts were constant, archived games sometimes took weeks to be posted, and with no admins on hand, if you had a problem, tough titties. Is it still like $170 for the regular season?

hockeystreams.com - Feedback, worth it? Etc.

This is my 2nd year with HockeyStreams and I love it. They are constantly making improvements. I'm an architecture student so I spend the majority of my time on campus in studio and HS is a god-send. Quality is good, game chat can be stimulating, archived streams are great if you miss a game, no blackouts. Usually they put up the FSN Detroit feed if there is one, so its Ken and Mick 90% of the time which is great. When I'm home I simply hook up my computer to the living room TV with an S-Video cable and while its not HD, after a minute or so of watching the game, I can't notice I'm not watching it on cable back home in Michigan. I had Center Ice Online 2 years ago, very unreliable, subpar quality both video and audio, blackouts, usually took a week or so to archive games, and very over priced ($170 I believe). For almost half the price you get a better service with HockeyStreams for a calendar year, that means playoffs, draft, free agent frenzy, etc. If its hockey related, they usually try to stream it. I definitely would suggest it, especially if you're away from home as much as I am. And hell, if you're going to sign up, use my referral page to do so please : http://www.hockeystreams.com/register/blomquik Either way, hope it works out for you.

    Red Wings TV

Has anyone else noticed that compared to most other teams, the Red Wings TV video section on NHL.com is updated much less frequently and is overall less fan-friendly. You look at most other teams and they are having constant interview updates and training camp details, the Wings site has barely posted either and definitely not daily or anything close to it. Even the damn Islanders and Columbus have better content. Someone isn't doing their job at Red Wings TV. http://redwings.nhl.tv/team/console.jsp vs. http://islanders.nhl.tv/team/console.jsp http://bluejackets.nhl.tv/team/console.jsp

    Red Wings TV

They must have read LGW, they've started to update it at least every other day. They got rid of intern Mike and have people who seem more legit. Hopefully they kick it into high gear this season. Hopefully more player profile pieces, funny behind the scenes player interaction stuff, etc.

    This should be interesting

Leino will pot 25+ goals. Filppula will score 60+ points. Franzen will lead the team with 40+ goals. Maltby will play less than 50 games. Howard will lose 5 of his first 8 starts in regulation. Bertuzzi will be mediocre at best on Zetterberg and Cleary's line and will be demoted.

    Aaron Downey Cut by Coyotes

Very true, and unfortunate. Hopefully he finds someone who will play him. Love the guy, has a great attitude, but on the ice he can't hack it and its hard to justify giving a roster spot to an insurance policy. Good luck Aaron.

    Jimmy Howard

I believe they are supposed to be gauges, like speedometer on a car.

    Jimmy Howard

It may be a little soon for this kind of bashing, and I'm usually all for the goaltenders and hate goalie threads, but I admittedly have felt similar. Its been 4 years now since he first saw a start with the Wings coming out of the lockout, and there as been little improvement in his rebound control. Usually the Wings have a proven, solid backup goaltender and need one because they usually end up splitting duties 60/40. I just have very little confidence in Howard's ability to fill that role and win games consistently. Its time now for him either to step up or give up.

Tatar signed to 3-year entry deal

I'm really excited about this kid, he's going to be great. Start him playing on the second line in GR this season, he can handle it.

NHL GameCenter - is it worth it?

Thanks for the referral credit. Hope HockeyStreams works out as well for you as it has for me. I know I've been chomping at the bit to watch the Wings and I've already been watching other preseason hockey as well as archived games from last season (only the happy times of course). And tonite is the first televised Wings game, and the first of the season I'll have to miss, thank god for archived streams! Go Wings!

    Niedermayer negotiating with KHL

This. Realize that for every Hudler they are willing to vastly overpay to play there, we have Datysuk caliber players playing for relative pennies on the dollar. And with the KHL being a fledgling league so far, they are able to pay these outrageous prices to get NHL hand-me-downs. Eventually they are bound to run into similar economic hardships, then they'll be squabbling and pinching pennies and unable to pay our second-tier players to play overseas.

The color guy is a dueche. Plus, I don't feel good about Howard in goal.

NHL GameCenter - is it worth it?

From the HockeyStreams.com homepage: They also include what they call HD Plus streams randomly if there are available streams. Basically, if they have more streams than they need to give every game the HQ and HD streams, they add an even larger resolution stream to certain games. Only problems I've ever had is when the bitrate is too high and it buffers alot, but by the end of the season the streamers had it optimized and there were rarely any problems. And even if a stream is buffering a lot, just mention it to an admin and they are very helpful.

NHL GameCenter - is it worth it?

Video goes full screen, audio is great. I usually watch games online when I'm on campus as I'm usually in architecture studio nonstop, but when I'm home, I use an S-video cable and audio cable to connect to my living room TV and most of the time you can't tell you're not watching it on cable. And 95% of the time Arbiter, the admin/streamer who does the Wings feed does the FSN-Detroit feed, so plenty of Ken and Mick instead of s***ty commentary. Overall, its a great experience, and the only problems people ever have is with bandwidth and its buffering too much they usually will lower it for you and help. Good luck whatever you do, but HockeyStreams is the best option I've found. If you're going to sign up, please use my referral link: http://www.hockeystreams.com/register/blomquik

NHL GameCenter - is it worth it?

Two years ago I paid the $160-180 for GameCenter (then still called Center Ice Online) and it was definitely serviceable but far from ideal. It was really overpriced and when games are on NHL Network, NBC, or Versus, you still get blacked out, which really sucks if you aren't by a TV. Last year I switched to http://www.hockeystreams.com, and I really like it. Some people didn't have great experiences but I've never had any big problems. They are continually improving the site both in video quality and user interface. No blackouts! There is a live game chat that allows you to ***** and cheer with other fans. If you ever have problems, admins are always on hand to help. Games are instantly archived for rewatching. At half the price, I renewed my account with HockeyStreams this season. For a whole year of high quality streams and archives, its $70, $100 for higher definition streams. Still beats the only 8+ months of GameCenter. I believe you can always upgrade to higher definition if you try standard and want HD. Try it for a week or something and see how you like it.

    Red Wings Training Camp Notes

Just quick update from training camp. Leino and Filppula line is impressing. Williams tabbed as pointman opposite Kronwall on the 2nd PP unit. Howard struggling . http://www.mlive.com/redwings/index.ssf/20...point_duty.html

Scotty Bowman coaching the Chicago Blackhawks?

Not a chance. Scotty turns 76 on Friday, like someone else said, he wants nothing to do with the time commitment that it takes to coach a team, the grueling travel schedule, or the day-to-day preparations. He is on as a consultant, and that's as much as he'll do for the rest of his career. He is the single greatest coach the NHL has ever seen, but he is done.

    Red Wings Training Camp Notes

My perhaps they'll place LTIR, which I believe is 10 games, and let him properly rehabilitate his injury and make sure he's 100%, in the meantime giving Abdelkader some more NHL experience as 13th forward rotating in. But since its only 2-4 weeks expected for the injury, I find it highly unlikely that would be the case.
