    Niedermayer cheap shot and brawl

I hated the gooning, but saw nothing coming from it, cause the NHL is spineless. But when Neidermeyer throws a ficious and intentional elbow to an unsuspecting Datsyuk after play has finished and its on film and nothing comes from it, the league's handling of the gooning Ducks yet again makes me want to puke.

    Niedermayer cheap shot and brawl

Wow! I was pissed off enough when Getzlaf started suckering Hossa, and Perry decided once again he was the biggest ***** in the league and jumped Rafalski, but this elbow HAS to be reviewed! If there is any remote chance of consistency, this elbow cannot go unpunished! .... and yet we all know it will.... hate the f***s and hate the league.

WCSF GAME 6 GDT: Red Wings 1 at Ducks 2

Is it me or has Hossa whiffed on like 4 or 5 passes/attempts getting it deep in the first. Its making me very nervous. Other than that, Ozzy looks good, and the team can do much better. 0-0 after one period on the road, fine by me. Kill this penalty and we'll hopefully have a little momentum.

Chicago Columnist: Blackhawks should want no part of Wings

Very eye-openning article for Chi-town faithful. I realize anything could happen in the playoffs, so on and so forth. But did you see how many times the Blackhawks have trailed and been allowed to come back by Calgary and Vancouver? They were given games. And when they had the lead, they didn't exactly hold steadfast either. We still have another win to get in this series and its going to be tough as hell tonite, but here's hoping for a original six "Lets Go Red Wings" vs. "Detroit Sucks" WCF.

    D-mac recalled for game 6

I would be absolutely shocked if Mac played at any juncture of the playoffs, especially tonite. He is merely up to have another voice in the locker room / because the Illitchs are a bunch of sweethearts.

Who will play in net for game 6?

Hiller is the only reason this is a series and definitely the only reason it was 2-1 going into the third period last night in an otherwise completely one-sided affair.

Dan Cleary gets a little redemption

I believe kicked in goals, high sticks, and whether a puck crossed the line is reviewable. You can't determine interference after the fact, either way. Unfortunately, there is no way to overturn the pathetic show that was the Game 3 tying goal either, and tonight's interference non-call still doesn't even that score as far as I'm concerned, do love the Hiller quote right about now tho Time for more bitching from Carlyle, I swear he is a combination of Burke and Therrien. Might as well just come out and say "Ok people, nothing about my boys gooning or crashing the net, lets just talk about the chinsy things I want called in comparison to my guys mugging their guys. Seriously, when is Bettman's parity causing, double standard officiating going to kick into an even higher gear, we are obviously still out classed."

    Datsyuk looked really good

Datsyuk has been dominant and playing great, he is just snake-bitten, as bad as any player i've ever seen. Playing out of his mind at times, and just nothing is going in for him. Gotta feel for the guy.

WCSF GAME 5 GDT: Ducks 1 at Red Wings 4

is it just me, or has Anaheim gotten away with using a free hand on the Wings all game, which is fine if you are going to call it both ways. The Kronwall penalty looked like how the Ducks have played all game without penalty. One more good period boys!

    Game 5 Refs

f***in' O'Halloran... someone needs to show him there is nothing in the NHL rule book that says all goals with Tomas Holmstrom on the ice are washed and then penalized.

    The Seven-game Series...

QFT. Obviously more games equals more revenue, but someone from the league talking about it to the press and apparently mentioning it to the players, while I doubt there is a single player in the league that would throw a playoff game, it gives the strange impression of tampering.

    Young Mr Abdelkader

I miss Dallas Drake, helluva guy. I like Abdelkader too, but he has a long way to prove he's the "Dallas Drake" of this playoff year. Here's hoping! :beerbuddy:

    Colorado or Anaheim?

Now: Anaheim 90s: Colorado Right now I hate the Ducks more than any other team in the league by a wide margin. The seem to get away with murder against the Wings and like others have said, when the Avs beat us it was because they were a better team, which is more of a respectful hate. Whenever the Ducks beat us its due to gooning, poor calls, poor goaltending, and usually overall robbery.

    ATTA BOY KOPECKY

I'm glad he took a d-man off the ice, but other than that, there is NOTHING good about the fight. Timing was horrible, and Kopecky has never won a fight. We all knew he was going down as soon as he lost his gloves. The only nice thing to see was two visor wearing players ditch the lids, but that is not a fight you take at that point of a hockey game (trying to preserve a lead on the road right after they have scored a goal).

    FINALLY! LINE CHANGES!

When we first got Hossa, I thought it was a no-brainer that Hossa would just replace Sammy on the Filppula-Franzen line that was so great last year, but it never ended up happening. We tried to force chemistry between Pav or Z and Hossa. Finally, after 10 months, this line is together and they dominated every aspect of tonites game. They were strong on the puck, fast, forechecked tenaciously, and put the biscuit in the basket. Now the Wings depth can really shine.

    The I'm Sorry Thread

I'm sorry Chelios is still horrible. I'm sorry it took so long to get Zetterberg-Datsyuk-Holmstrom + Franzen-Filppula-Hossa. I'm sorry the refs robbed the Wings of a Game 3 tie. GO WINGS!

Kenny on The Hour with Bettman

QFT. That is exactly why I'm so pissed. He can never just admit his refs f***ed up. He argues for his guys even in the face of obvious failure. He would rather proceed under the illusion his refs are perfect than simply say "they are human, humans make mistakes, and that call was a mistake".
  18. b.shanafan14

    Do you want Rafalski back?

Is this thread a joke? Where is the Rick Roll'd link to its supposed grounds in logic? FAIL.

Kenny on The Hour with Bettman

Its all bureaucratic bulls*** with the review system in any league. Its always the "we don't want the game to last forever" excuse. Most goals are clean cut good goals, if you can spend an extra 5 minutes to make the right call on those fuzzy goals that may, hypothetically allow a team to clearly tie a tight game in a tight playoff series, that would be a drop in a bucket. They always use this argument like we'll be reviewing every faceoff and penalty. Bottom line: Its pathetic when we have a system to review and it fails the way it did in Game 3. When there is a situation when every person watching in several countries and those in the arena can see a free puck and then a good goal and ONE person decides in a split second that he can't see the puck, and that split second of obvious mistake takes priority over the obvious truth, the NHL has failed. Let the NHL be revolutionary for a change and add an actual "common sense" clause, where in if there is a glaring obvious mistake it can be overturned instead of having playoff series decided by a single man's mistake. Imagine if the day after we were talking about how well the NHL system worked because of common sense and how epic the back to back overtime games were between such closely matched opponents, instead of how blown the call was, how robbed the Wings were, and how lucky the Ducks were. Adds a stink to everything.

    Hi James Wisniewski...

The Ducks tactics are hypocritical and pathetic. This wasn't an elbow being thrown with intent to injure, this is a guy hunched over behind someones elbow getting hit with that persons elbow. From what I heard from Holmstrom, he didn't even know Wisniewski was there, and may not have even knew he elbowed him at all. Everytime I hear Carlyle or their players talk, its more bitching and moaning, but when they get a call here or get away with a questionable hit there, then its "good clean physical hockey". I miss playing someone like Hitchcock who keeps the focus more on the play of his team versus the other team.

    TSN/Ducks Fans Biased

I'm personally sick of Carlyle, he complains as much as Therrien, but it only goes one way. Complains about Wings players doing this and that, but when it comes to his players gooning "its good clean hockey". I miss Hitchcock

    Jonathan Ericsson

Right now, in my mind, on any other team but Detroit and Anaheim, Ericsson is already playing like a top 3 defenseman. Course no other team took a chance on him and certainly no other team would have let him overripen like Kenny. He is physical, he is poised, he is big, and he doesn't take s***. Love when he fought Corey "the windshield" Perry, Perry thought he was going to bully him and Ericsson just stood up and showed him he was dead wrong.

Do the refs need a page out of the NFL system?

Fixed Of course I'm kidding, but it is funny how I'm pretty the Ducks got at least one goal, maybe two, against us in '07 by jarring the puck away from Hasek. And I've seen Homer geting caught with a toe in the crease and that constitutes no-goal/goaltender interference penalty, while apparently Perry can slash and run Ozzy, but as long as the puck is in the net, no harm to foul. Also saw a pretty fantastic crosscheck to the throat of a young goaltender, followed shortly after by a goal. The offending player went unpenalized or reprimanded; the player was a Pittsburgh Penguin. (pure coincidence )

NHL responds to waved-off goal in Game 3

For once, I just want to hear someone from the league say "that was a terrible call". Its ALWAYS the same BS: "the ref called it the way they are supposed to", "we have the best officials in pro sports", "not a mistake [lengthy explanation of the refs point-of-view]", etc. Really? I know the NHL under Bettman is some communist state, sans free thinking and admitted short-comings, but we can't even call a MISTAKE a MISTAKE. Everyone is human, except NHL officials, they are infallible if you are asking Bettman.

    I'm Done With The NHL

All I know, is tomorrow when everyone in the league is defending the ref and the NHL website will have endless talk of the invinciple Ducks staving off the Wings instead of a picture hi-res picture of a puck sitting the crease with the words "Anaheim Screw Job" underneith it, I'm going to be choking on bile.
