When you rely on scalped tickets, thats what you get. When I go to games I know months ahead of time, and look for the best deals. Going the day of and hoping for a deal is foolish, especially in Montreal.

I don't think there is anything to really learn from this game. But now that its a couple days behind us, I'm glad it happened. Its been a relatively lackadaisical season so far, despite the great record. This was a good old fashion we-played-our-worst, they-played-their-best embarrassment. We have a team of super elite players who now hopefully have a decent size chip on their shoulder. Hopefully we get to see some Red Wings playing pretty pissed off...

Classy is a word thrown around way too much on LGW.com when speaking of the Red Wings organization, but thats cause there is no better word for what the whole organization from ownership to management to coaching to the players on the ice represent. Mike and Marian, once again, very.... CLASSY

Wild have the ability to do what Edmonton did in 06', get the lead and then trap their asses off, making for an tremendously frustrating series. That said, the Wild playing from behind are not nearly as scary, but do have some guys who can score and a goaltender capable of shutting the door should their defensive trap have to open up to come from behind. Canucks have Luongo but the rest of their team doesn't scare me. The Ducks are cheapshot artists which is not a great recipe for the first round, and JSG could become hot at the right time. Either way, first round is tough, but we SHOULD be able to handle it.

Was just about to post this. Huge surprise to see the Wings getting that kinda love from TSN, and kinda out of no where too.

haha some people eh.... Cleary's boarding was a run-of-the-mill, every day boarding, stuns the player, he gets up, he's fine. Lemuiex creased Draper's face over the bench ledge, leaving him bloodied and broken, requiring reconstructive surgery. Obviously those who are saying this know nothing about hockey, or at least nothing about the hit on Draper 13 years ago.

My thoughts exactly when I saw this. How is Sather still an NHL GM? Is there a player on that squad who wasn't overpaid and has since underplayed? Gomez, Drury, Redden, Naslund. Seriously, the guy went on a shopping spree and then got his bill and finds out he has half his salary wrapped up in subpar underachievers with a decent term on each. Look at Gomez and Drury's numbers the last couple seasons since getting to NYR, and they are getting paid $7mil+ each. Can't blame the coach for not having a single 20 goal scorer and few if any plus players.

QFT I love that Sid threw a another tantrum after being out classed by another great player. Sid does talk far too much and obviously losing has gotten to him. Reminiscent of the Game 4 SCF last year with Hank. Sid needs to either put up or shut up. Either do something about it or quit your bitching.

The scoring title? No. Possible for the Pearson tho, especially if he finishes in the top 2-3 in scoring, top in plus/minus, overall sound defensive play. For my money, he is by far the best two-forward in the world.

Howard hasn't showed anything impressive in any of his call ups over the past few years. In his defense, he hasn't gotten enough starts at the NHL level to really get a firm handle on what he could potentially be once he got used to the speed and skill of the big clubs. But thats one of the things about being a consistent threat and defending Stanley Cup champion, when you're in a dog fight for 1st place in the West sometimes you can't wait out a goalies poor play, thats why Howard got the call up in the first place.

Dropping the gloves was one of the things Holland told Quincey to work on before he could make the roster. I know Quincey is having a great season and I know we should have kept him instead of Chelios or maybe Meech, but I honestly don't think he would have gotten the playing time to ever reach the potential he is showing in L.A. Good for Kyle and I wish him the best.

This plus the fact that we had game 5 and the series advantage locked up until they called a weak/phantom penalty on Datsyuk, leading to them tying the game and eventually winning the game and eventually the series.

thats disgusting, at first i thought it was just two great moves and protecting the puck and it went it during the crash into the net, but he actually fires it short side almost pool stick style, poking it into the net from his ass. unbelievable

Crosby is not a natural leader and he is wearing the 'C'. As much as his and Malkin's contracts (combined caphit of $17.4mil/season) are the reason for the thin talent pool around them, you can't entirely blame them for taking the money the Pens were dumb enough to offer them, that and they don't have a precedent like Lidstrom, Yzerman, Shanahan, and the countless other players who take huge haircuts like its nothing. It comes right down to the fact that two of the best hockey players on paper are right now not complete enough to push their mediocre team into the playoffs and aren't admirable or tactful enough to wear the 'C' in an organization with no real support leadership. Gimme the Flyers captain Mike Richards over Crosby on the all-around scale anyday, and Pavel hands down.

No. Being around forever doesn't merit such an honor. Yes, all were great for this franchise at one time, but not that great. Its much harder to get your number retired than it is to get into the Hall of Fame.

Great to see him get the record, I really like the Capitals top to bottom when they aren't playing the Wings. 8 game goal scoring streak is DISGUSTING. As far as the Norris, its really hard to tell. The guy really racks up the points and goals, but defensively he isn't even near the top in the league, and some would argue he is much closer to the bottom. All of the other Norris hopefuls for this year have a combination of offensive ability and defensive prowess. Its really hard to tell. I know if Green was on the Wings I would in one breath marvel at his offensive ability and in the next probably cuss about a giveaway ending up in our net (not unlike Niklas Kronwall this season).

Is Pavel the best player in the league? For sure. Will he ever win the Hart? No. Just doesn't work like that unfortunately. Its sad Malkin will get MVP nods the way the guy plays and his team currently on the outside looking in. Now the Pearson... that maybe something Pavel can get.

Pathetic effort. Chelios is terrible. Kopecky is terrible. I don't know how many times on the PP Kronwall tried to pass it through a Jackets player and it never worked, just ended up down the ice whether by clear or by shorthanded break away. Nights like tonite you really see how some players are struggling, and others are just as bad as you've always thought they were.
