Professional and amateur is no different when it comes down to it. Where do you play? Just wondering what pro league you are in? Fundamentals. You learn them when you are a a young kid. You learn advanced fundamentals when you begin to play competitively. These are things that should never leave you regardless if you aren't in a game situation. Being a back up you get a huge work out in practices. You get the brunt of the shots and it should only help you. Nobody is expecting him to be amazing but really give me a break.

To be fair, every team we lost to had a super hot goaltender and went to the finals. All losing in game 7. So it's not really that disappointing losing the almost cup champs 3 times. Colorado winning in 01 as well.
-
Osgood playing the last 3 games is the only thing that will stop us from making the playoffs this year.
-
We very well may have. This team for some reason plays really well for Howard. If they don't he tends to bail them out more often then not. Last week we gave up a ton of odd man rushes and still won. That 4 on 2 was brutally played by Ozzie and lacking fundamentals because you haven't played in a game is no excuse when you practice everyday. He seemed to get better through out the game so I'll give him that.
-
Now that you mention it, I do seem to remember him doing that.
-
He is only out of position while they are coming down his left side to me it seems. If he has a weak playoffs to me that`s not a big deal but if he comes back with a bad season next year maybe it was just a fluke. His confidence has never been higher and he is playing that way.

Cleary is looking sharp today.

No you won't but the presence of them in the line up should give the other guys more space. I wasn't suggesting them on the first line. If you have no one to fight then why not run our top guys. If you have Abby smashing Gange around for a few shifts they they will definetly take notice.
-
This. You don't lose basic fundamentals from not playing in games. Maybe he just doesn't give a s*** anymore.
-
We will have May, Abdelkader and Tollefson come playoff time if we need toughness so I'm not worried about that.
-
Honestly 4 on 2 and Ozzie plays the shot 100%, are you serious? Definitely shouldn't have been a 4 on 2 but come on.

We need that guy in your avatar.

Ya, basically. You are bound to lose fans when you suck. I still don't get why the Joe is always so empty though. It's really pathetic that those seats aren't filled even when they call it a sell out. Is it really that much of a pain in the ass to go to games?

Losing to Colorado and Dallas in the playoffs during the peak of the rivalries always really irked me. Losing the cup at home is brutal but not because it was the Pens, just because we lost the cup.
-
Howard hasn't been sloppy. There have been some bad bounces and a few goals he was slightly out of position but sloppy isn't really the right word. Sloppy is Carey Price not Jimmy Howard.
-
Ya it's been brought up. He watches the games from the room. Doesn't seem like a big deal and he seems like he is there for Howard, very supportive.
-
His ass apparently. Wishing luck to Ozzie tomorrow. Hope he has a strong game.
-
You are a fan through thick and thin. Not just thick. We have been extremely lucky to be so good but this team could win 1 game a year and I would still watch every game. I would ***** and moan but I would watch every game.

Does this year prove that hockey doesnt belong in phoenix?

The Winnipeg Arena was quite small. It was also quite run down. The MTS Centre is a beautiful arena. Operating costs were a main reason the team left. Regardless if you sell out all the time if your costs are in American dollars and you only bring in Canadian dollars at a time when the dollars aren't close to parity you are going to have trouble, especially with out corporate sponsorship. They would have it this time. In great market conditions. Don't forget that every Canadian team outside of the Leafs were in a situation where they may have had to relocate at one point or another. The parity of the Canadian dollar has done so much for these teams. They may not even have to expand the arena right away. Give it a couple years and see if attendance remains high. If the demand for tickets is still high add 2000 seats. I just really don't like the fact that the NHL still is pushing hockey on the southern states. Winnipeg is the only logical place to try NHL hockey out. -
North Western Ontario. There was me and my dad and my buddy James. Only Red Wings fans within miles, as far as I knew. Obviously I'm exaggerating a bit but really everyone seemed to hate the Wings for their success. Most people are a fan of an original 6 team, the Oilers or the Flyers(minus the Rangers and the Wings). Everybody was jealous of the Wings.

I will say this though. Bettman probably wants to find a buyer for Phoenix and the get an expansion team in Winnipeg/Hamilton or wherever. The NHL would stand to make a s*** load of money if they did it that way. -

Why do you expect them to continue to lose millions though? The TV deals may not be as much but with the corporate sponsorship and the fact that Winnipeg has barely been effected by the economic downturn they are sure to sell out. If they become the Jet's again their merchandise sales will be through the roof. I would buy a Jet's jersey in a second if they came back. -

Canada can never compete with TV money deals but they can blow most markets out of the water in viewers. I imagine if they moved back Roger's SPortsnet would pick up the teams regional games and they would get CBC deals and TSN deals. The amount of people watching those alone would blow Phoenix out of the water. Then again a TV deal in Phoenix may bring in more money than those 3 all together.
