Howard= Almost God like at times. He looks a tad awkward sometimes still but he has played great since the Olympic break. He had a bad game against the Canucks(the whole team did) but he never let it bother him. His confidence is through the roof right now. Rebounds are looking a little better too.

That is pretty crazy to go that long. There was a fight about 2 or 3 weeks ago that went forever as well. Can't remember who fought but for reason I think it involved the Ducks but I'm not sure.

Ya. Him and Meech were in to replace Eaves and Cleary. Meech saw very little and Lebda none. Just fillers in case another player went down. They basically on rolled 3 lines. Piecing together 3 third with other players.

I really like Ozzie. I'm going to be honest though. If he was getting his starts here and there and Howard went down I think we would be S.O.L. for playoffs this year. I obviously can't be certain but it's just a gut feeling. If Howard was to go down in the playoffs I would have more confidence in Ozzie being the guy but Regular seasons haven't been good to him these last 2 years.

Why does everyone assume this? He hasn't yet and no one knows what he is capable of.

It would be disappointing but if we make the playoffs and even get to the second round it will still exceed expectations.

To be fair to Ozzie, he isn't complaining anymore. It's his Superfans. I agree he should have had a few more games but at this point it's too late. Chips are on Howard. If he fails, like I said before, there is always next year.

A couple weak ones isn't the end of the world. His confidence hasn't been this high since college. If it wasn't for Jimmy last night we probably would have been down by more then 2 by the end of 1. I don't know how many times I have said" If it wasn't for Howard....(random negative outcome).", this season.

Absolutely not. Howard's stats and play is the most consistent thing about this team. If we don't sneak into the playoffs the players(not goalie) are to blame. They were inconsistent and some nights left Howard out to dry. 12 games to go. he has played 52. He is young and eager, I think he'll survive. Game Log

I agree with your first statement and do think Ozzie should have had a couple more but Broduer is an old fart. If he can play 70+, I think Jimmy could handle it. Putting this load on him I think can only be positive. I can't think of another time, outside of playing for Maine, where Jimmy's confidence has been so high.

Everybody acts like we are the only team that rides a starting goalie. I wonder how other goalies deal with so many starts? Jimmy probably wants to start every night. He just had a 2 week break as well. If we make the playoffs and Jimmy falters, then you can complain because like it was mentioned before all of the chips are on Jimmy. Ozzie is no longer a fallback plan. If Jimmy burns out well there is always next year. Jimmy burning out has been an argument all year as well and I still have yet to see it.

I'm excited to see it. Not expecting much but it would be nice if he used his size to help the forecheck.

Z has won a Conn Smythe. Regardless of skill difference, he has earned his respect even if he isn't playing quite like Z right now.

If Z is actually hurting I highly doubt putting him on D's line will actually make him healthy as much as a magician as he is. If he is hurt he is hurt and we will be breaking up a good thing with Franzen and D. Franzen is great but D creates space for him. Flip won't be able to do that. I'm willing to do anything as long as D and Franzen aren't broken up. It's extreme but: Zetterberg/Datsyuk/Franzen Bertuzzi/Williams/Homlstrom Miller/Filppula/Cleary Draper/Helm/Eaves Williams on the second line purely because he will shoot the puck as opposed to Flip. Not a fast line but they could grind it out and use Williams as the shooter with Holmer taking his usual role out front.
