I agree. We aren't the best in total medals. Don't even come close in the summer. So when we accomplish something why do guys have to come in here and belittle that achievement?

Yes all medals count. Yes you beat us. Why do you have to come in to this thread and rain on our parade. We set a Winter Olympic record with 14 golds and we are proud. Some American's come in to these threads just looking for someone to jaw with. Piss off.

I don't believe I have ever seen Carman start a thread praising Crosby. That being said, he/she only goes into the numerous Crosby bashing threads or derailed threads to defend the guy. Of course you don't have to like the guy but he is a great player and it is not his fault the cameras are always on him. Like the thread about him spitting before shaking hands is thread created to stir s*** up on this board. That is more trolling that what Carman is doing. That is true. It is brought up though because somebody needs to defend the guy. The amont of Crosby bashing is ridiculous on this thread. It's not even warranted. I have seen a ton of posters say that it isn't him that they are pissed about, it's just the attention he gets. An NBC/NHL/Bettman bashing would be more welcomed then Crosby...., Crosby....., Crosby. I like the guy now so I will defend him too. The hatred for him comes from the back to back finals. We aren't playing him in the finals this year and we play him once this season? I think we can all get past it and realize he is a good player without throwing the player himself under the bus because of the actions of the media.

300 million people in Russia. Hockey is arguably their number one sport. They have more of a talent pool then the Americans do. Don't forget this article is strictly about the Russians. The Slovaks didn't play "Eurotrash" hockey.

Just one thing to mention about Crosby. The American media (NBC) and the NHL hype Crosby more than anyone else. It would not in any way crumble the foundations of Canadian hockey if he was to retire tomorrow or become a third line player. Hockey Canada doesn't plug him. They are there for the team. TSN and CTV don't act like he is a god, except for a few choice words from Maguire now and then. Your media built him up to where he sits right now. It has nothing to do with Canada or the foundations of hockey here.

No. I don't hate European hockey. By your reasoning then Sweden is the most dominant hockey nation because they have 2 gold medals since the early 92 games. They are definitely not as bad as some people are saying they are but get real. I have was 2 young in 92 but looking at the roster, Russia had all future soon to be pros. Sweden's roster > Canada's roster in 94. 98 the Czech's had Hasek, enough said. 02, all-north American final. 06, 2 very under performing NA teams. 10, USA into the finals. We will see how Canada fairs tonight. I wouldn't say Euro's are running away with it

Lighten up. That's all I can say. Why does everyone have to be on their absolute best behavior all the time. God. A North America full of robots. The Canadian players themselves don't give two s***s what the IOC says anyways so who cares. Who cares if they did it? In front of media or not. The one girl was under age. Underage drinking is hardly a problem. The media blows everything up, then people blame the players for having their picture taken.
