Canada will be there on Sunday in the finals. We have outplayed every team we have come across. Hiller and Miller both played great games but without them there respective teams looked pretty bad. I'll admit Canada needs to improve. They need to shoot the puck. They may get tons of shots but so many chances go to waste because they wait to long or dish it off. All you have to do is go back to the fundamentals. If I had it my way Bab's would go to Luongo. It's his god damn rink and I honestly think he will shine and be a huge boost to this team. Nash and Stall were unreal on Sunday. Keep Richards on Crosbys wing. They looked great. Canada will be there. They will get their s*** together. 2002 started off like crap for us as well. You make a good point about the teams yet if you have ever watched Lidstrom play regardless of who else is on the ice with him you know that his defencive skills are not over rated. He may have fallen off a little the last 2 years but prior to that he has been the best. To play the way he does shows his defencive skill. He doesn't just use size or aggresiveness like a lot of shutdown guys do. Most haven't seen Orr play on this board. One person who talks up Orr to god-like status is Cherry. A guy who nobody, minus a few exceptions, takes seriously or can refrain from bashing when they get the chance. Everyone will have there own opinion on who the best is.

I wasn't saying Lidstrom didn't have a good team. Orr wasn't the reason they were great. He was part of it.

Not just on their defence but I think that is where it has to start. The thing that bugs a lot of people is that Nik may have won those Norris trophies if he wasn't as good at defending as he is. I think a defencman has to be solid at the back to even get a whiff of Norris acknowledgment. Something Mike Green is not yet he gets included. There is no denying Orr was great but who is to say he was a better D-man then Lidstrom. Offencively yes but when it comes to defending, he probably wasn't at Nik's standards. Also the Bruins teams of the 70's were excellent. He was a huge part of that but to think his big +/- numbers were just because he alone was great is absurd.

That and he played "Tim Bit's" hockey when he was little. They didn't have it when I started but it is like the first league you play in when you start hockey as a kid. He was part of it so of course they are going to plug that as well.

Media attention is not his fault...... I must say it seems to me that by how much ppl feel they can criticize Crosby they must be wathcing more Pen's games then they are Wing's games. My sports channels I watch don't hype Crosby beyond believe like everyone on here says they do. He's a great young player and does deserve the hype he gets. Who cares if they talk about it him. Last time I checked this was a Wing's board and we were all Wing's fans. Maybe we should worry a little bit less about the media and how they treat Crosby and a little more on the Wing's. To be honest though nobody here could probably go 1 day with out bitching about Crosby. It's time to move on guys.

TSN power rankings are bulls***. Mike Green is number 2 on the list. Seriously use a new source. Crosby and Ovechkin have been the most consistent players since the lock out(rookie year). Thornton as well maybe but he plays for SJ and nobody cares about the west. They are the 2 best in the game today.

If we don't play the Pen's in back to back SCF nobody on this board gives 2 f***s about Crosby and how he is being marketed. Anyways, I hated him but now I'm passed it. I got over it. We aren't playing him in the finals this year. toby91 makes a very good point. Watching on CTV yesterday it was definitely about the team as a whole and not Crosby.
