How exactly do you come to the conclusion that they aren't listening to him or he lost them? Because we are losing hockey games? I will say that his strategies are flawed in defending the lead but how do you figure he lost the team?

It was a hard choice between Brodeur and Kipper but I ultimately went with Kipper. I watch the guy night in and night out and he is just amazing. He doesn't get the credit he deserves. His team has been suspect since the cup run and his numbers have always been good except one year when they were really bad. Marty is great but always has a very good team in front of him. Very defencive system in Jersey. If they don't have those types of teams does he break records? I don't know. All I can say is that Kipper has absolute raw talent to mind that goal and he is far and away my favorite goalie in the league with his style of play. As much as it is too early to judge, if I was to base Jimmy's style on any goalie out their it would be somewhat similar to Kipper.I like that.

It is not hard to be offensively minded while being responsible in your own end. Murphy was at least responsible. Even Schnieder could defend. Rafalski can work the PP and he can make a good first pass while not being pressured. Put any one on him and it's a turnover. Force him in the corner and it's a turn over. Pressure him in the corner when we have a chance to gain easy possession and the other team will gain control. He let's the forecheckers get the puck which allows them to set up. He won't take a hit. I hate watching him play. You don't have to be amazing at both aspects of the game but you do at least need to know how to defend alittle and his loss of speed has definitely made him a 2nd or 3rd tier player in this league. For $6 mil a year.

Well he was overpaid from the start. Look beyond his offence from the previous years and his lack of defencive ability shines through(or lack there of). I am absolutely against offensive denfencemen. If you lack defencive ability be a forward. At least when everyone elses production goes down the rest of our D serve a purpose by play denfecive hockey. What can Rafalski do?

Thanks Jedi. I think the Nike and CCM's are basically the same fit. My buddy got a Philly RBK when they first came out and he could barely wear it it was so tight but he might have had the Edge one. I just don't want the same problem. The charts at SportsK just show that the jersey's slim when they get to the waist. Those could jst be the edge ones they are talking about though. Thanks again.

I'm a bigger guy and I looked at their sizing chart. They list their chest sizes are bigger then the waist sizes for each jersey. I'm the other way around. Am I not going to be able to wear the new RBK jersey's. I have a NIKE from grade 8 like 10 years ago that still fits me but they were the baggy ones. Just wonder if anyone could give me an idea what the fit of the Rbk jersey's are like?

I think we basically have the same experiences. Like you I hadn't seen them win here in Calgary until this past Halloween and I find it really hard going there and losing because Flames fans are very poor winners. Speaking about getting booted out my buddy got kicked out for having s*** thrown at him. He turned around and started yelling at the assholes to stop so the ushers kicked him out. It's a pretty hostile environment at the dome, more up in the Sportchek zones then anywhere else though.

I have to back you up. His strategies while holding the lead have huge flaws. It isn't just this year. It has been ever since he came but for the most part it has worked out. It's not working anymore. We blew the lead in game 5 of the 08 finals using the same strategy. Eventually losing in OT. I'm a Babcock fan but if something needs to change it's the strategy he goes to defend the lead. He lets the other teams dictate the end of the game while getting our boys to collapse back on to Howard. I could see why he is doing this to clear rebounds but if he let them forecheck and at least try and trap the neutral zone they wouldn't give up the chances they do while in "defend" mode that they do now.

That's a shame man. They don't respect the game or any one around them for that matter. The last Flames vs. Wings game I went to I had a group like that behind me. Lucky enough though when I watch hockey I get really zoned out to everything around me. At one point though we were killing a penalty and everytime we would dump the puck one of the idiots was yelling that it should be icicng. We continued to do clear the puck and he continued to yelling making a fool out himself. Finally I turned around and said to him, "You are on the ******* powerplay!" If you are going to be loud and obnoxious then please at least pay attention to what's going on in the game. I have to say though the group that was behind me reminds exactly of the way you described the group you had in front of you. Girls not worried about the game but the part later. Guys being loud and there just to drink with no real knowledge of hockey yet screaming like they know what it is going on. They probably never watch hockey yet when the Flames score they feel they have the right to make fun of me and my buddy for having Wing's jeresy's on. Luckily the Wing's won. It really doesn't stop them though. Flame's fans are absolutely terrible and usually I have a bad experience when I go to watch the Wing's there everytime and it is only because of the other fans.

I posted this else where but now I'll post it here. Does this make sense to anyone else?: Just an observation. I'm a Babs fan but every game I am starting to see more and more strategical flaws. When we get a lead we blow it. How? We sit back. We stop forehecking. We collapse around the net. Our wingers don't play high. Yet our goals against all come from down low if the are not playing up high they should at lest be pressuring the wings which they aren't. 4-2 with less than 5 minutes to go. We could continue to forecheck forcing the other team to make mistakes but we don't. We retreat back in to a shell and then let the other team dictate how the play will go. I wasn't worried before but maybe I am now. Watching todays collapse and watching our previous collapses it shows. When we get the lead we just fold it up. This seems like a coaching thing. Defend the lead and collapse. It's not working.

When Iggy plays with Crosby he will be re-invigorated. At least for the Olympics. Then he can come back here and keep playing with Chokinen. Odd man out is right. I like how we are going with younger guys. I like how Stevie picked this team.
