Well the OP thinks ppl are crazy that we think Canada has a chance. Crosby is unbelievable and you just don't like him because of the way he is portrayed. FYI, it's in Canada on normal size ice. Babcock is a great coach so I don't think that will be a problem and Heatley was not on the team last year for San jose so you can not say they can't win the big games. You can think what you want. Crosby is probably the smartest player in the league right now. We may not win gold but to think we don't have a chance is boarding on insanity.

I wish we could get Fox Soccer Channel in Canada. We get Fox Sports World Canada. It's pretty *** compared to FSC.

To be fair, the Russian team that beat Canada at the World championships has a lot of returning players. It was 2-1 game. The Russians have added a lot of guys. More talent but a lot of the core guys that beat Canada 2-1 are still on the team. Now when we look at Canada. There are 3 returning players. The rest of the players that lost to the Russians 2-1 were not even close to making this team. Doughty, Heatley and Weber are the 3 returning players. When Russia's core team that they brought to the World Championship's could only beat the Canadian's mid level pros 2-1, you shouldn't being saying that Canada doesn't stand a chance.

Chicago vs. Edmonton should not be blacked out in the US. It is here Canada because of TSN. That is a shme for you guys that Versus isn't available everywhere.

Playing O-line was probably the funnest position to play. To each his own I guess. Playing corner would probably be the worst I would think. Maybe it's different because we play that crazy Canadian version up here but O-line was definitely the best.

I'm not arguing that hockey players have better education. Stereotypes come from somewhere. They all have a hint of truth to them. Basketball and Hockey have different environments, upbringings and demographics, stereotypically. I'm not gonna go in to it any further.

You could probably send him down on a conditioning stint while the Olympics are on. I would rather see that then him come back before the Olympics and then take the break.

If the next Lebron or Kobe wanted to play for your program but he was dumb as s*** would you send him away? Not if you want to keep your job. There are no statistics for actual GPA's. The statistics show that everything is peachy and they do whatever it takes to keep the NCAA happy. I mean majority of NBA caliber players not majority of basketball players. It is a formality that the must go through.

I mean in huge programs if the aren't the brightest kids the get a pass in their classes. They won't jeopardize the programs success because the kid can't pass his classes. When it comes to college most people go in with the intentions of getting a degree. Athletes who have a potential of going pro have no interest in getting a degree. You said yourself that they are forced to go to college before they play in the NBA. If that is the case, how many of those guys actually take it seriously? There are some. I'm not throwing everyone in the same group but the majority don't give a s*** and would skip it if they could or if they had other excellent development leagues.

If the are NBA caliber then they get a free ride in college. Even in Canada team doctors can get you out of exams and class while playing sports. I can't even imagine what the NCAA is like when it comes to huge programs like NC and Duke. You probably don't even have to show up if you are the team. Exaggerated a bit maybe but it is not like the majority even get a degree. They all declare themselves for the draft and say f*** school.
