They took Modin over Sami so I wouldn't put it past them to leave the Mule out.

Yeah sorry game 4. My point is Howard needs to get playoff experience eventually. Why not now? Like I said in a previous post, if he continues to play well all season long we need to take advantage of that. We do always have Ozzie but as much as everybody does love Ozzie he isn't a guaranteed game changer. He has played great the last two playoff years but does that mean he can do it again this year?
-
Well to be fair if he doesn't struggle with injuries(again) this year he very well could have originally replaced Bergeron on the first team.
-
Ozzie will play against the Isle for sure.
-
I'll see if I can figure that out. Its not very good resolution though I can't figure how to attach stuff. It's frustrating. I really feel like an idiot now.haha

At this point in the season I would agree with you but don't you think that if Jimmy can get us there he deserves at least a sniff of playoff time. We pulled Hasek in game 3 and Ozzie shined and everything worked out OK. Why can't he get the chance if he gets us there? I think it's only fair.

If Jimmy continues to be as consistent as he has been been then I think he has every right to start in the playoffs. He would have earned it. If he does well then great if he falters under pressure then we still have Ozzie. I think until Kronwall is back we have to ride Howard. When we are healthy(if that ever happens) we will have more opportunity to win games if our defence is isn't clicking. Our PK is owning other teams lately. Howard may have bad rebound control but our boys are getting to lose pucks. Howard has been great regardless of some of his weaknesses and we need to take advantage of that. Even if it means riding him into the playoffs. Once Franzen returns his presence will not go unnoticed. Some worry he won't be the same guy but I doubt that. When we are healthy and Howard is backstopping us we will be a force.

At age 56 hulk Hogan resorts to picking on children. It's lame I know but it starts it off.

By the time he completely develops into whatever type of player he will be I think we will have the space. I don't see getting more then 30 ever in a season by any means but to have a PKer/checker that can add offence to your team is amazing.

Reg is the man!

I hope his hands catch up with his feet. If they do he will be an even greater asset then we thought. I'm so excited to watch this kid develop.

I hope Howard doesn't burn out. -
I'd love to see May score tonight. No prediction from me as they will definitely lose if I do.

Nice picks with Stewie and Horton. Horton is unbelievably under-rated.

They are capable of getting better. Not to the level of the NHL though in my opinion. North America is the media capital of the world. The NHL is the biggest incorporated league when it comes to hockey. They may have money over there but to lure away future Hall of Famers is unrealistic in my eyes. There are North American's in the KHL. Ex-Wing Mark Hartigan plays/played(?) for CSKA Moscow along with Niko Dimitrakos and goaltender Nolan Schaeffer. I think it is a fun league to watch because it's different but I don't see many young players wanting to stay unless they are unmotivated or lack confidence. If that's the case then let them stay there. After they develop in to top notch players then they can come over and if not all the power to them to stay where they are.

If you look at the numbers, team salaries are higher now then pre-lock out. When it comes to Canada at least, the rise of the Cdn. $ is what made the difference for teams here.

He's still not skating so I guess we will see. He will try and skate tomorrow. I assume he will be back closer to the end of January.

Players who were never stars in the NHL are making the big money over seas. More then they could ever get in the NHL. Offering young players big money could work to keep them there but amazing talents like Datsyuk, Ovechkin, Malkin and Kovalchuk seem to strive to be the best. If you don't play with the best you will never be the best. That kind of mindset makes me feel that they would never leave the NHL and hot young talents will want to make lots of money but play on the biggest stage in the world when it comes to hockey. Russia and other countries definitely get screwed when it comes to losing players for little money(Russia doesn't get a dime). A billionaire came up with the idea of starting a new league(basically an upgrade to the old RSL) consisting of more teams including ex-soviet states. Making it seem more competitive by advertising the s*** out of it Medvedev lured in new talent. The talent he lured in was old or declining ex-NHLer's, career AHLer's and other players from other European clubs. If the KHL ever comes close to rivaling the NHL, I think the end of the world won't be far behind.

I didn't think Fedorov or Jagr were that exciting as they got older. Let the KHL take the old Europeans. Just like Florida, Arizona and Texas take Canada's and the northern states retirees. Let them make more money over there then they would here. They are taking up roster spots here. Most players want to play here. There will always be more money over here for stars.
