In my opinion stop letting the stars take the shots until they want to show some creativeness. Honestly Dats almost had him 5-hole. Z's was bad. If we let Eaves shoot or Helm, we are looking at a win. I very well could be wrong but hot hand gets the shot. They may not be superstar goal scorers but that probably helps in a shootout. Shootouts are 50% luck.

Yes but his age will be a factor. His play so far this year is poor. If he continues to play this way and they wait to long to try a trade he stock will have dropped. I don't think the Wing's would trade him for a temporary player to shore up the back end. They will only go for a permanent above average player. They won't get that opportunity if Rafalski's stock drops by the deadline. If they want to move him they have to do it now.

Bad defence does tend to follow McCrimmon around. The season after being replaced in Calgary the Flames shot to 3rd in GA and to the Finals. He should be canned he hasn't had a very good track record. Who could we hire??? Or promote???

Maybe not realistic but if we could get our hands on Willie Mitchell I would puke. I would trade Rafalski and a 2nd rounder for Mitchell and Baumgartner. Career minor leaguer but way better then Meech. Although Rafalskis salary might prevent something from happening. If not we look to the Flames. They carry 2 extra D most nights. Sarich is slow but solid and also Aaron Johnson just aquired by them this year from the Hawks is a decent replacement for Lebda. I think any type of veteran presence would be good. Hainsey or Zanon. There are options out there. I don't think the best option is looking for trade right now unless it involves Rafalski and that giant contract of his, which would be pretty hard to get rid off. Hainsey makes 5 mil the next three years and he's solid both ways.

Yes If there is someone who can do it, it's him. It's also hard to project these days. Slumps seem to last longer these days. That's if he ever gets into one.

You guys are missing the big picture. Our problems lie within our fundementals. Our team is extremely deep. We can make up for the injuries. We came back in the 3rd lastnight without Fil because we started passing well, firing it on net not around it, puck control somehow improved immencely, puck suppost actually meant something and our boys started finding each other out there. Goaltending can't be fixed but if we limit the oppositions shots the way we did in the 3rd because our huge minutes in the attacking zone I think we will be fine. I'm not expecting a cup this year or a President's Trophy but a solid finish is no out of the question. Fil is a talented player which yes of coure we will miss but to panic the way some people are is unnesecary. We should be missig the presence of an actual number goalie and Lilja more then we do Filppula.
