Prime example of why we're going to see another lockout once this CBA expires. It's contracts like this, due to stupid GMs and owners and agents, that drive salaries up across the board. It's really F****** infuriating and defeats the entire purpose of having a salary cap. And it's so flawed. Seriously why the hell would you link the cap to revenue if you're the owners, knowing that the game is increasing it's revenues. It's just like shooting yourself in the foot because those rollbacks on salaries they keep wanting eventually get surpassed by the cap. Argh. Rant over. back to Macdonald. This is very exciting - to summarise: Hank skating with the team at practice today - not for long but still skating. re-evaluate how he feels wednesday, if he's good, he'll skate again. Hockeytown Cafe is definitely worth going to, just to check out the memorabilia they have on display. Standard food in downtown Detroit for me would be Slow's BBQ on Michigan Ave. Amazing bbq.

Kane, Toews? I think they're both due back for the start of the first round, but there'll be a little rust no doubt. That said, as we saw sunday, the Blues are really banged up. So who knows. Would love to see Chicago exit early though

Would be nice to see Nill have some success in his first season, and actually pretty happy that Seguin is doing so well, because it just rubs it in boston and toronto's faces now!

Yea I think this has potential to be the best first round series of them all. Still don't like the Sharks, still slightly bitter about losing to them two straight years and nothing against LA (except for the location of the team). Will be entertaining to watch for sure.

Truthfully we don't know what KH and the brain trust are thinking in terms of the bottom half of our D. Who knows, maybe the strong showing from our kids might persuade KH to give them a chance and not sign anyone. A lot will depend on the next 8 weeks me thinks.

I refuse to root for a team who plays cheap hockey and takes pot shots physically at players for no good reason (see Columbus - Comeau and others). Thus I hate both teams equally. I hope they beat each other into the ground.

Yea Q really improved his play the second half, I had no complaints with him. So kudos for that. First half, different story.

Such a great way to end the season, and I'm glad they tidied everything up. The Blues are a mess. I would have no issues adding Sproul for the playoffs…….and Mrazek for that matter. Kid is so confident. But prob best to keep him with the Griffs and see if they can go back to back.

I don't think Z will make or break this series. While he would be a HUGE boost, I don't think we should be counting the Wings out. We've played up to good teams all year long, and we've beaten some pretty good ones the last 2 months, including Boston. As you could see from Sunday's game, this team works hard, which means they won't die easily. Pavel is looking like he's about to break out - he was awesome sunday I thought. That could be huge. We've got more speed than they have, and we all know speed wreaks havoc. If we can steal one on the road, anything can happen. LGW!

Absolutely no one in the East, which goes along with my steadfast rule of not rooting for anyone who's in the same conference as the Wings Out west, probably either Minnesota or Dallas, but I won't be 'rooting' for them.

I thought Sproul played the better game, but Ouellet was very solid, aside from one miscue when he decided to step up at centre that led to a 2 on 1 for the Blues. Besides that, he was pretty invisible like Dabura said. I was really really impressed with Sproul I have to say. Threw his body around - absolutely nailed Derek Roy into the boards at one point, no fear in jumping up into the rush, willing to unleash the slapper from the point and skates well. Got me rather excited.

I agree with Babcock. This team has had issues with consistency all year long. Confidence is relatively high right now as the boys made it in, so keep it rolling. You can't iron out the kinks in the last 2 games ready for the playoffs with half the top guys out.

I presume if what others above have said to be true this is what the owners demanded of him?

I liked them against Buffalo and I thought they were our best line in that game. GOod mix of size, speed and offensive ability
