To be honest, I can't totally remember exactly what happened. But I know at the time of seeing it that I wasn't debating it, so there must have been contact with a defenseman to push him there or something.

He doesn't need to be able to promise that Sid is going to be getting any better. As it is right now he is better offensively than Zetterberg and Datsyuk. All that's going to happen in the future is for him to mature, become an even better leader, get better defensively (see: Steve Yzerman), and maybe even bump up the offensive numbers. Fact of the matter is that even if he didn't get any better on offense he is still a generational talent capable of putting up 120 points a year (no Datsyuk and Zetterberg can not do that in their prime which is where they are right now). Player for player, it's so obvious that Crosby is better than both individually that you could ask anyone from any fanbase other than Detroit's and they would agree. The only debate you would have not taking him for either D or Z is the fitting into the system debate and even that is up for debate. Where was Z at 21 years old? Not in the NHL. Where was Datsyuk when he was 21? Not in the NHL. Where is Crosby at 21? almost 300 points in the NHL.

Be more specific... what about his hit?

Do you watch hockey outside of the Red Wings? I would consider Crosby a top 3 captain in the NHL. He has the drive that leads by example on a daily basis. He may be vocal about certain things in the public eye, but that only attests to how passionate he is about the game. I guarantee that anyone who talks bad about him would certainly love him within a week of having him on your team.

I'll be honest, I was trying to stir the pot with my 1st post just to see some reactions. But with that said, if you wouldn't trade one of the two for Crosby, you really need to take off the blinders. He's 21 years old. 294 points in 213 games. Two 100 points seasons as an 18 year old and 19 year old (102, 120). +25 on a team that was completely awful for his first year. He completey changed that franchise around. Last place to Cup finals in 2 years. I could go on, but you get the point.

He is a pansy for saying it. But to be honest, Ovechkin seriously runs him every game they play against eachother. I'm not talking innocent Detroit Red Wings hits, but like intent to injure blatant charges. With that said, I love Ovie and think Malkin is a *****. Plus it makes those games so much more entertaining.

Yes. Crosby brings so much to the table, it's ridiculous. Not to mention he's 21, which is an age that most players haven't even reached the NHL yet let alone put up two consecutive 100 point seasons with a third one pro-rated to that. He's extremely good, and great for any market.

Winner... No question a goalie in even mite hockey gets told to hug the post when the puck is on that side. It's just a given.

All I know is that.. Parise would be a complete stud if he played on a team that was the least bit offensive-minded.

Helm is consistently one of the top players when he is in the lineup. Someone has to go. It really should be Kopecky, he really brings very little on a consistent basis. Edit: or Maltby, just doubt that would happen.

But realistically no one should be making more than Lidstrom. It would be nice to see Z take the same money that Datsyuk gets considering they are pretty much equals, but I definitely doubt we'd be that lucky.
