No, you are right. Really the only deeply opinionated part of the article is the part that he talks about Europeans. The ida that Ovechkin will not live up to last seasons standard is believable. I just made the comment because I thought it would catch people's eye.

I went to the game last night and I just really don't trust Quincey at all. He looks really tentative and shaky at times. Meech looked much better. He has a good shot and is really mobile. Kind of like an upgraded version of Lebda. What do you think is going to happen with the bottom D pairing? Ideally, I would love to see Lily and Lebda both out of there and have Meech and Ericsson, but I definitely doubt that would happen (especially them being together as rookies).

I think it's fair to assume that when you are addressing someone in an argument/discussion and claim, "...yet conveniently Sammy is always the only one who is wasting cap space", that person is probably going to assume you are stating that about them.

It certainly could depending on the decisions made with the bottom pairing of the D.

Kopecky = grit that we obviously lack. Matlby = a player that the classy organization would not just trade away or waive.

It most definitely does work like that... Good players do progress during the course of their career, but on top of that they are given infinitely more ice-time. On top of that, when you are getting more ice-time you are most likely playing with better line mates who are also getting the extra ice time.

To be honest (and not trying to be mean) that attests to your hockey knowledge. Sopel isn't on the Canucks anymore and the players like Ohlund, Mitchell, Kesler, Burrows, Sedins (who aren't going to be traded), Bernier are all thrown around quite a bit.

What makes you think that given his ice-time and PP time, a player like Leino or Helm couldn't match that? Hudler was getting 4th line minutes and had more points than Sammy who was playing 2nd line minutes for a majority of the playoffs. Man, if Leino shot over 200 shots in a season I'm sure he could put in at least 11 goals.

I thought that Quincey looked sub-par again, which is beginning to be a trend from what I have seen from him. He looks timid, and not too strong on his feet. He let some guy spin out of the corner on him right to the front of the net early in the 1st. Stood out to me as something that you wouldn't naturally see from any NHL defenseman, but everyone makes mistakes maybe I'm being too critical.

Holmstrom seriously has struggled so hard lately (playoffs included). Helm should be the 13th forward and develop Leino more in GR.
