Helm really should be in the NHL.

Quincey lookin suspect again...

Colorado (even though they won't make it) Chicago (bring their fanbase down to earth) Anaheim (quack) Pittsburgh (I think Crosby would literally cry this time)

Just to clarify everything - Luongo is the C, but he won't wear it. Ohlund, Kesler and Mitchell are all assistant captains this year so no one will officially wear the "C". I don't think it's a bad idea, they are obviously trying to cement the future of Luongo in Vancouver so when he's a FA he wont dip out on them leaving the team with no good players at all.

Out of curiosity, what happens if he hits 70 points in a contract year? How much do you think he's going to ask for?

Tampa Bay is struggling in their game 2-2 right now and the stream is right here: http://stream.m3.livetv.sk/STV3live?MSWMExt=.asf Sc Bern gave New York some fits the first 2 periods but got blown out in the third eventually losing 8-1. Their starting goalie was Hasek-esque, he seemed pretty good but they put in the backup halfway through. The crowds over there are phenomonal, it's really fun to hear/watch. Edit: TBL game is in OT. Edit Again: Looks like Tampa Bay won in a shootout (3-2).

If the quote about the best players playing is true then I would think this would be the case: Lidstrom - Rafalski Stuart - Krownall Ericsson - Meech But since they won't realistically have two rookies together and are set on keeping Lilja, he'll be there to replace Meech. Depending on how much money available it would most likely be Meech ahead of Ericsson. But then again, the best players would not be playing in that case. So who knows.

http://www.mlive.com/redwings/index.ssf/20...stined_for.html Sounds to me like they are both GR bound and that line they assembled for the Exhibition game could definitely be a sign of the first line in GR. I'm guessing they kind of decided to send them both down before the game and then stuck that line together to see how they play together. They generated a lot of O so I wouldn't be suprised to see that line the #1 in GR. Leino - Helm - Haydar

Lilja probably isn't going anywhere. hhttp://www.mlive.com/redwings/index.ssf/2008/09/helm_leino_appear_destined_for.html "We got some huge decisions on the back end," Babcock said. "I thought Lils was real good tonight. Lils for me is a real solid, NHL five-six guy (fifth or sixth defenseman), big body, good penalty-killer, real important part of our team. So when you go through everything, the math doesn't work out. We got five more (exhibition games) to figure it all out." I'm guessing that makes a move involving Lebda a lot more likely than I thought?

Anybody have any info that went to the game? Would love to hear what the goals were like and how Leino and Big E played.

I really don't think it's a joke, I've seen them praising him a ton on those boards.

Dude, that is money.

Goalies are a little shaky fantasy-wise, but you have pretty good D. Here's mine (rookie lover): Malkin Getzlaf Satan Simon Gagne Zherdev Tanguay Sam Gagner Kulemin Brassard Markov Kaberle Enstrom Streit Coburn Barker Doughty Lundvquist Leclaire Smith

Man, right in the middle. Hate that because at #7 all the big guns are going to be pretty much gone, and you don't get the 2 quick picks in a row if you are more towards the bottom. Oh well.

Apparently he left practice with an injury and isn't playing tonight, but he claims it isn't long-term. http://www.redwingscentral.com/redwingscor...441598302013078

Seconded, Campus Martius is the area to be if you are in the city. Au bon pain is pretty good too (it's in the center of campus martius). Greektown too, Pegasus is a really nice, good-tasting restaurant.

Crosby, offensively, is in a different league than Datsyuk. Datsyuk is more fun to watch but statistically they don't compare. That kid is still only 21 years old, he's still a couple years out of his prime. 21 years old and already 2 seasons with 100 points (and would have had 3 for 3 if not for his injury). Pretty insane.

1)) Cool area, probably as safe as you can get while being in the Detroit area. The renaissance building itself is really cool and they re-did the water front so you should check that out. Some cool casinos and restaurants around there. If you're into seafood there's a Tom's Oyster Bar down Jefferson a bit that's pretty good. 2)) Avoid the Lions like the plague. Unless you are a big fan of the other team. It's like watching high school football. Pistons would be a better environment but the thing is the Pistons play out in Auburn Hills which is quite a trek from the Detroit area. I guess if you are really desperate to see some more sports the Lions game wouldn't be terrible because it's close to the city and the facility is really nice (Ford Field).

Yeah, I have a membership there. I highly recommend it as far as streams go, others are way to unpredicatable and the quality can be terrible. The archived games are great too. Just watched a game from the Dallas series a couple days ago.

Here's a link to the live updated blog on redwingscentral.com. 1-1 already. Both weak goals. Emmerton for us (unassisted). http://www.redwingscentral.com/stories/200...25_LiveBlog.php

The only ugly thing about that hit is how terribly long Carle admires his pass.

Yay, someone agrees with me.

Saw this over on HFboards. Scope out Martin Gerbers new mask.
