Whenever the time comes that Osgood isn't starter-quality anymore, it looks like we have some options in net. A lot of people are already on the Jimmy Howard bandwagon and I don't necessarily disagree with them, but he is yet to really prove himself at a high level (he has been above-average at best in the AHL). I really think that Daniel Larsson could be our goalie of the future. If he can translate his game to NA then we have a good one. For those of you who don't know him, he played in the Swedish Elite League and nabbed the rookie of the year alongside the goaltender of the year in 2008. Pretty impressive. If he comes out of the SEL anything like Henrik Lundvquist did that would be amazing. With that said, we sure have a bright future in goal with the likes of Larsson, Howard, Conklin and newly-drafted McCollum. Discuss.

Do you play in St. Clair Shores? I am out in Grosse Pointe home from college for a semester and I'm trying to find some pick up league to play. Assuming that registration and team openings have been ended for that league, do you play in any other more competitive pick up leagues that are drop-in? Thanks.

I was at the gym I go to in Grosse Pointe the other day and was walking out of the locker room and saw a guy walking in. I kinda did a double-take then realized it was Kirk Maltby. I kinda nodded at him and he smiled and said, "Hey". I told him I was a big fan and he just replied with a friendly smile and a "thanks a lot". I debated asking him if Helm would make the roster but decided I didn't want to bother the guy, haha. Yeah, pretty boring story. But he seemed like a really nice, down to earth guy. Just thought I'd let you guys in on my boring story haha.

Just a little update- Larsson posted 15 saves and allowed no goals against in the game today for about 1/2 the game. He decided to leave the game for dehydration reasons but was said to have played exceptionally well. McCollum came in and posted the exact same numbers (15 saves) in the 4-0 win over the Rangers. Side Note: Cory Emmerton notched 2 goals and 1 assist.

What will be the cup finals matchup? Montreal and Detroit 5. Will Martin Havlat finally stay healthy for good portion of the season? Haha and No 6. Who (other than Lidstrom) has the best chance of winning Norris? Phaneuf and Rafalski (bias coming into play on these) 7. Crosby or Ovechkin... Who will outnumber the other in total points? Crosby (Ovechkin in goals) 8. Datsyuk or Zetterberg... Who will outnumber the other in total points? Datsyuk (just because of Hossa) 9. Zetterberg or Hossa... Who will outnumber the other in goals scored? Hossa (just because of Datsyuk) 10. Can the Columbus Blue Jackets make their playoff debut? No, too young for the time being... maybe 2-3 years.

If it weren't for the chemistry of Dats and Z, I would trade either of them straight up for Jerome Iginla. So I guess you could assume where I'm going with this, he should be in the top 6 (in my opinion).

I don't see the hype about Kopecky whatsoever. Helm has shown that he is a better player than Kopecky and deserves a spot on the team. Isn't the goal to win the cup? Why not put the best possible lineup together. Hossa - Datsyuk - Holmstrom Hudler - Zetterberg - Franzen Cleary - Filppula - Sameulsson Helm - Draper - Maltby Rape.

If those line combos stay intact I would guess the following: - Zetterberg's production will fall a bit (~70-80 points) - Hudler's production will jump high (~65 points) - Datsyuk will rack in the assists - Hossa could crack 50 goals - Filppula's production will remain low for the season

I kinda just threw his name in because he's going to be on the team. He could amaze us but by me throwing him in the post, I'm not saying he's being considered as a franchise goalie or anything. Just to clarify...

My Wishful Thinking Lineup Zetterberg - Datsyuk - Hossa Franzen - Filppula - Cleary Hudler - Draper - Holmstrom Maltby - Helm - Samuelsson My Realistic Lineup (still wishful with Sammy on the 4th and Helm on 3rd, but I like keeping Malts and Draper together) Hossa - Datsyuk - Holmstrom Franzen - Zetterberg - Filppula Hudler - Helm - Cleary Maltby - Draper - Samuelsson Kinda limits the checking line role, but every line has a player that could potentially be a goal scorer (plus we limit Sammy's awfulness).

This could possibly be our D for next year. I'm hoping that Ericsson impresses in the camp, becuase I really do not want a bottom pairing of Lilja and Lebda (that's brutal for the amount of talent we have in our system).

I'm trying to find a picture of Alex Ovechkin to blow up and put in my room as a poster type deal. There is one I am specifically looking for that is a closeup of him with his visor that was tinted and hes blowing a bubble. If anyone could find this picture I would be greatly appreciative.
