Being in the Phily area I know first hand there media is a joke. It's pretty blatant that a lot of the guys that write for CSN (Comcast sports net) are penguins fans or another team. There are a view good ones but more often then not they get left behind because of the meat heads that lead the way with the "controversial" articles

I'm sorry, but I am going to have to disagree with you on the Jimmy Howard point. to say that he doesn't win us games I believe is a vast understatement. Our biggest problems this season was a very young new D, with no Nick Lidstrom and a very lack luster offense that has trouble scoring. Yet we are still in a playoff hunt and in the process beating some top teams. We aren't winning barn burners. We are winning game because Howard is keeping the opposition to 2 goals or less and a lot of times its 1. Howard has had A LOT of great games this season where he has stood on his head for this team and we won, and also A LOT where he has and wasn't rewarded for it because our offense has trouble with scoring. I know this is a bold prediction but Howard will be talked about as a Vezina canidate next season and possibly a nominee. He already was last season until his injury, and would have been this season if he didn't have his slow start which I chalk up to not playing for 9 months before the season started. With the short off season and no lock out, Howard will do work next season. I feel very confident about that. Edit: HAHA glad as I was typing this, 3 other people agreed with me.

Not trying to pile on, but just out of curiousity what would you look at moving to trade up the 14th overall pick (if we miss) to the 2nd to guarantee him... I would assume we would have to start with our 14th overall, Nyquist/Tatar and something else... Nobody will give up the number 2 pick with out getting way more then what should be paid. That being said I would LOVE Drouin, problem is the chance of us winning the lottery is extremely slim... I rather playoffs haha

Going to be a crazy last week of te season... We do play Dallas so no matter what I think the only way Dallas gets in over us is if we crap the bed and lose to them this week... We really need CBJ to drop 1 of its last 2 even if it's in OT and I hope minny can keep up there sucking and let us surpass them... If we win tom. We will be only 1 point behind minny and CBJ with a game in hand on CBJ and same games as minny... Winning Tom. Puts us in a position to really out pressure on both those teams and hope it causes them to stumble...

Talking about Kindl... Isn't he due for a we contract next season... What do you guys think we will end up paying him.

The problem is I think the reason he wasn't traded is because he is more valuable on our team as an emergency back up then the Conditional 7th round pick that we would have gotten in return. Just like Huskins brought back and just like Redden got St. Louis...

I love the Howard hate... There was a stretch of games this season where he stood on his head for 4-5 straight games of 2-1 hockey where we won or lost but more then not collected points... It sure as hell wasn't our offense winning a a barn burner... I can't remember the last time Detroit has realy had many 6-5 games... When we win it usually means Howard gave up 2 or less... Our offense can't score 4 or more usually so if he gives up 3 it's not looking good. Howard is the reason we are where were at right now... We don't have a forward that is playing above his contract or a dman.

Lets go WINGS!!!! We need a big W tonight... Side Note, I will def. be tuning in for the beginning of the Bruins game tonight... I hope they give the city of Boston something to smile about, if even just for a moment... Prayers for Boston and win it for Martin Richard...

Really excited to see him take his first step over to NA. Only 9 games but it will be nice to see him play on some smaller ice and see how he stacks up with guys in the AHL.
