NHLPA won't accept the deal as is, there will still be some back and forth negotiating just hopefully good faith and reasonable negotiations...

Like many others have said, watch.... That's the best way to learn.. I can sit here and explain offsides and it would seem some what foreign... Watch what offsides looks like a couple times on TV and it starts to become more clear... The best part is once you start learning the game and how it's played, you will slowly learn the little things players do that make them that much better then the rest of the guys on the ice. Just watch hockey, and watch it as much as possible...

I know the Owners have a lot of the blame... but Bettman was the one who adopted the rule to only need an 8 team vote instead of a majority vote. It is also in his job title to preserve the sanctity of the league and he hasn't been doing a great job at that currently because right now the NHL is the laughing stock of sports and its becoming a pissing war between both sides and every body taking pot shots at each other like 10 year olds. It is not completely Bettmans fault, but he does have a big part in it. The reason he adopted the 8 team vote was for reasons like this, so the owners couldn't veto him again.

7 Hours now... its getting hard to not get my hopes up...

I'm not saying I want them to decline it and counter, I just have a feeling this is the way it will go. Of course I want the season to start and this was a big stepping stone and maybe from here they can work out all the details. I think that they could reach an agreement very soon I just dont think it will be this exact offer.

I maybe one of the few that see it this way but... I feel that it is quite ironic that shortly after the NHL hires some help from the GOP to help save face, they then offer a proposal that on the surface says we caved and this is completely fair, but in the details the league still gets all of there other demands yes ironed down a bit but all still mainly in tact. I believe firmly the NHLPA will respond with a counter offer instead of accepting which in turns makes fans turn against them. Which is exactly what the NHL wants and hired the GOP to help them do. To me this is just a face saving act.

I read on HFBoards that if the game gets canceled that Detroit will still get it the following season. Anybody have any linkage or proof. I don't believe anything with this league until I get proof...

I know I was just making a play off the movie but I think it would be pointless for the owners, it won't draw fans, it costs to run it and the insurance... Just a bigger waste of money... In my opinion and would actually give players to just say... "See we fill the arenas not the owners just putting guys on the ice"

I was trying to think of ways to fight back and it's hard cause it's the sport I love and I love the red wings.... But... From this point on for every day we are Locked out of the NHL is a day I will not spend money on the NHL when it returns.... 10 days of lock out means I wont purchase jerseys, key chains, tshirts, mouse pads lol anything... If I purchase anything it will be through private sellers selling there own stuff that isn't linked to the NHL at all... (aka people reselling stuff on here, etc.) I know I'm only one person but if even more people do this... You can see a difference... I really only give exception to Winter Classic (if it happens) and tickets because I believe the players deserve to have us watch them just sucks that we have to pay the owners to get them... But I'm going to make my stand for a small morale victory!!!!
