II understand what your saying, I'm not saying its a forsure 20 years but I like our chances better is take a couple getting better teams with no true cores intact... Besides Chicagos CORE instead of dealing with teams that have true cores on their team and will be contenders for the next 5-10 years. The other side is who knows in 10-15 years from now maybe prospects don't develop and we end up being horrible lol I think everyone is saying they got screwed because all the conferences are set up geographically, and I think anybody who can read. Map would just say... WTF???? When you have to fly over an entire conference to get to yours something's not right. With that situation it's almost just like having Winnipeg in the southeast lol... It could have easily been done by moving Two teams to the northeast ifron the Atlantic...

Yes good up and comers but would u rather have a dog fight between La, SJ, Anaheim, Van and pho... Or battle Philly, Washington, Pitt, NYR and NJ.... I rather have St. Louis, Chicago, minny, Nashville and Dallas... Those teams may be decent or getting better but they are no LA, Vancouver or Phily, Boston or a legit true contender... Detroit and Chicago are the only cup threats in our division

I understand ever one is upset that we didn't get to go east, but let's face it for playoff reasons and Stanley cup contenders. This just made us one of the top contenders year in and year out. 5-6 contenders will be eliminated before we even have a chance to face them like I said earlier... Only 2 of phily, Pitt, wash. NYR, NJ, la, SJ, Anahiem and Van. We only could possibly face two of those teams in a playoff run every year... No more having to go through Phoenix, then SJ, then Vancouver just to get to the Finals

Of course Kenny is happy we have to get through Chicago to make the Conference Finals every year lol... This is all while, La, Vancouver, Anaheim, San Jose all beat the snot out of each other and only one makes it out, and in the east. Philly, Washington, Pitt, NYR, and NJ all dot he same while only one makes it out. The other conference is kinda the same shoes. Tampa and Boston and a little bit of Buffalo Montreal, mixed with bad teams in Ott. Florida and Toronto. On a pure chance to win the cup we are in a GREAT position on excitement during the NHL season, well that kinda is lacking.

Yes, Detroit might of done okay, but how in a million years you take two franchises and screw them (Fla, TB) just to get the Capitals in the Atlantic is a complete joke. Yea we got out okay, but I would have rather been in the north east with Montreal Toronto buffalo and Boston and such

So they go 16/14 and they screw both teams that were asking to go east lol, nice work NHL... I consider this a fail.... 16 eastern time zone teams but only 14 in the conference. 14 teams from the other timezones and 16 teams in the conference haha FAIL!

Is Howard a ***** because he didn't straight up challenge Crosby to a fight??? Cause I believe we all praised him for standing up for him self and teammates....

If you ignore the fact that Nashville will be the only team in the east in the central timezone, and therefore keep the two eastern timezone teams in a conference with all central, mountain, and pacific timezones. I think the plan is to try to get all east tomezone teams in the easy eventually....

Tootoo could have avoided him by going behind the net or what smart players do. (Imfact saw Z do it last game) slam on the breaks and hug the goalie to soften then blow. That is what classy players do. Superman dive so your shoulder/elbow fright trains his head. That's what classless punks do.

I disagree, the incentive should be to Win, no matter how you get it done. Should a team get an extra point if the win the game 7-0? No. So why should they get penalized if they only win 3-2 in OT? Just go to a 2 points for a win, 0 for a loss system. This whole 3 points for a win, 2 for an OT win, 1 for a shootout win, 0 for a loss is just too much and just makes it harder to understand as a casual fan. A casual fan has no idea that at the end of a season only the regulation wins count towards a tie breaker and all of that stuff. Simplicity is a beautiful thing.

My biggest problem with the new system was the fact they added the overtime point so teams would take chances to get the extra point in OT. The problem that caused was teams just tried to get to OT instead of worrying about losing one late so they at least get a point. I don't think teams try to make it to the shootout but they for sure try to make it to OT. The system I think they need to start using is simple. Since there is no such thing as a tie anymore... 2 points for a win, 0 points for a loss. Forget the loser pity point its not necessary. All the 3 point for a win, 2 if its in OT 1 if you loss in the shootout 0 if you lose in Overtime is dumb i think. It too much complicated. We already have a new section in the NHL Standings for Regulation wins because they don't want it to rely on a shoot out win, but why should it matter. A win is a win and a loss is a loss. 2 points for a win (no matter if its in the 3rd or a 15 round shootout) 0 points for a loss. just cause you lose 35 games in overtime. doesn't mean you should get 35 extra points. You lose the game plain and simple.

I guess I'm going to be the opposite in this thread. Do I think he would drop the mitts no. Do I think if lucic had his head down and Drew had a chance to make him feel it I think he would give him a little extra, come up a little high. At the end of the day if you hate a player you hate him. Im assuming Drew doesn't like Lucic at this point. Would he two hand the guy and get suspended no but i would think he would make sure he finishes his check everytime and gives him a little extra given the chance... Not to just defend his brother but because he doesn't like the guy...

Anybody else think we could be playing a team in the east. We might be there next season. Maybe buffalo could be back in it. Idk but I have a feeling we could be in the east. That could be a big reason were getting it. Not going to lie. If we moved East buffalo would be in our division what a great way to start a rivalry... Of dare I say it... Maybe Pittsburgh....! As far as the biased of not having canadian teams. That cuts nBC's ratings by an entire team... In stead of two teams fan bases watching on NBC now you have one with the other on CBC... Sucks but makes sense

I will admit it, I Despise Crosby. Not because he is good at hockey and occasionally beats my favorite team. Not because he Whines a lot THIS IS WHY... I could swear at first look it looks Photoshopped, but it isn't and please take note to my favorite part. The "Top Headlines" section on the right. "NHLN-US to re-air the Crosby Classic, 1 ET Tuesday" So this game just became the Crosby Classic, jesus its seriously is just becoming a joke with how much they are trying to shove him down the Casual NHL fans throat. The hardcore fans that have been here through thick and thin are the ones that are starting to get pissed of by it.

It's not the fact that it's our division. I don't know what it is with wings fans thinking that other teams will trade there beat pieces for our struggling players...? I also don't understand how trading Kronwall and Zetterberg for another player makes is better. I don't care who u bring in but besides Stamkos, Crosby, Ovechkin, and the Sedins, that trade bringing back ie guy will Always make us worse. For this team to get better via trade STOP Looking at roster players, only one of them will be moved for the sole purpose of a roster space. The rest will be picks or prospects. Especially the LAST place Blue jackets. If Columbus traded Nash and Carter for an Aging Zetterberg I want what ever glue he is huffing. As Winga fans is time to start taking the scraps out of the trade list cause they will get no return and start putting the names down that will. Without hurting our team. Trading Zetterberg will Never help this team or Kronwall. Won't happen no way no how. Look at the prospects and our 1sr round pick and u will find what we have to offer. yes, but adding a skilled player helps them in the long run. Takes weight off of their shoulders and helps them find better players to pass to and get passes from... Datsyuk with Carter is better then Datsyuk with Cleary
