So far I havnt ha any blackout issues unless the game is being aired on NHL Netowrk or Versus/NBC. I know I ran into problems being in the Philly area with Pittsburgh's broadcasts. Comcast didn't carry FSN Pittsburgh, but for some reason Philly was still part of their broadcasting blackout area. So if you had Comcast you couldn't watch a pens game at all. Even through center ice. It was considered Local. If you had Direct TV you didn't have FSN Pitt as a regular channel but if you had the package, then you could get the games. It was incredibly weird. Now that FSN Pittsburg no longer shows Pens games I can no longer get them because Root is only a Comcast channel and Direct Tv doesn't carry it, I'm still in the same area do its considered a blackout zone on center ice.... Go figure...

That's what I figured. I was hoping to get the measurements so I can just find a company or place that makes patches and get one made.

Bump.... Anybody heard anyway to get these patches????? Or does anyone have one that I can get the measurements and I'll get one made... I want one for my new Datsyuk jersey

Obviously 27 million is a lot of money.... But y give up 50 million more? To help out a team that won't spend money to make them competative? DP is not forcing other team mates to take less and he isn't forcing NYI into a bind... Its Win Win for him. He either recovers and plays, or he retires after another couple years and banks more. I would stay with the team until they need the cap room. Then do them a favor.

He doesn't need to retire, He actually helps the Isles make the cap floor. If this was a team that was spending to the cap every year then yea you would consider a buy out or something, but the Isles never wanted to invest money into the team for his sake and to make them a better team so why should he do them a favor???

Maybe Babcock doesn't want to mess up a roster that has had a SO the last two games???

Since the captains are already Lids with Z and Datsyuk and Kronwall rolling the Home and Away A, I'm going to assume barring anything extreme or a locker room incident involving him Kronner will be an Assitant Captain next season...

I think a lot of it has to do with the Time zone difference. We will be staying within our Timezone and players don't have to adjust. Imagine playing the 7 game Series last year in San Jose. Game 5 your in the Pacific time zone, Game 6 back in the eastern time zone, game 7 back to the Pacific. I much rather that with Tampa where everything is Eastern Time zone. crash

I want the Wings east.... Badly. I know everyone is trying to say Nashville but that just adds to the time zone problems. Every game Nashville plays against a conference team would be out of their timezone. Everyone. obviously geographically Detroit to the Atlantic or northeast makes more sense, but this could be a stopgap until they figure out what the hell Phoenix is doing. That's when a more permanent solution should be made. Every one is saying it's a horrible division but they do have the Caps, Bolts (game 7 conf. Finals), hurricanes are becoming a better team with Skinner, Murphy. Dalpe, and Florida should be improving too. It is no worse the. Our division and it would be a lot of fun battling the Caps and Bolts for the division instead of Just Chicago and their "core". Yes the travel won't be as easy as being in the Atlantic but heck it beats the hell out of traveling to Edmonton, Vancouver, Anahiem, San Jose, La,

Yes please do, I'm getting a new datsyuk jersey and I'm a big patch guy, I want one with this patch badly. I still love my Nike Shanny jersey with my Stanley cup patch and VK&SM patch from 98. I'm so glad the organization is doing this all season. I like patches a million times better because it's something the fans get get and wear too. Nothing against what other teams do or abything I just reslly love patches. I think the NHL should have added the Lokomotiv logo on the back of every jersey on the bottom corner, but I do understand it's another league. Either way I love the Red Wings Organization

Agreed, yes overly extreme punishments can be bad for the sport, but the most important thing is consistency. Ask any player, a ref can be calling a bad game, as long as it's being called bad both ways it doesn't have near the same problems as inconsistency.

I will never disagree with you on that point, but I'm just saying from an overall league stand point. If both Cbj and Detroit aren't moved your leaving just 1 team in the west on EST which is stupid. Move them both and run 16, 14. It's the easiest fairest way to solve it. If you most just CBJ you have everyone saying Detroit should have been moved, they put there time in and they are original 6 and were told they were promised to be moved. If Detroit moves then it's the whole CBJ is "further east", and all that crap. Just move both and end the discussion, unless they want to do a total revamp where teams in the East are traveling just as much as teams in the Central, mountain, pacific time zones. Best idea but A lot more work and could destroy teams like Florida...

I honestly don't know what I would do if the NHL got rid of fighting. It has it's place in the game and is needed. Things would get a lot worse if players didn't have to worry about dropping the gloves, and there would be a lot more chespshots and bad hits... While were at it why don't they start using a ball instead of a puck, it's a lot safer for players and goalies a like, and without fighting, might as well go mandatory full cage.

I understand that Bert doesn't bring as much as people like, but he is a good veteran player on our team that when need be will show his tough side. 2010-11 preseason on orpik when Franzen got kneed, 2010-11 playoffs. His other selling point, his contract. I like Bert for what he does and what he gets paid. The problem is we were extremely deep at center last year and still a little this year. Datsyuk, Zetterberg, Filppula, Draper, Helm were all centers. You swap Filppula on the Wing as a top 6 that now puts Bert exactly where he should be... 3rd line. Bertuzzi was forced into a scoring role with our lack of depth at the wing. With Filppula playing Wing and the possibility of adding a 3+ million winnger that takes that load off of his back and doesn't put him in a posistion to play well above him at his age and pay.

I'm confused... What happened to Stuart? I know mursak is done until the new year, and cleary might not be ready to start, but what's Stuies deal...

December is a long ways away. A trade involving another player Aka Hudler or someone could happen before then. Brunnstrom or Emmerton could excel greatly and make someone else like Miller more expendable. So many things can happen in the time before Mursak returns. I say keep Emmerton on the Wings roster, sign Brunnstrom and leave Conner in the AHL to start the season. I think Connor would be the easiest to pull up and send down if we need more call ups. Tatar also is available for call ups and he is still waiver exempt.
