Im curious... when did these rumors start flying around. I knew Atlanta was in question but did something bigger happen recently...?

I think it will be up there as one of the greatest comebacks of course but we I've such a long list of history games 7 against colorado, march 26th, double OT against St. Louis. This def. Will be on the list but we have had some great games in our history but this could be one incredible comeback.... Let's go wings!!!

Well my cousin is a big Isles fan and as of yesterday/today there was breaking news bout the new arena and it looks like they are going to get it.... If any team moves to Winnipeg it will now be Atlanta. Their management wants out and are already in talks with the NHL. I don't have a link but I heard it on NHL on the fly couple nights ago. Crash

In all reality.... If out of us and Philly completing the 0-3 comeback I think we have the team to do it, but that would involve us bringing our A game for 4 games straight and get some bounces. Probability of that happening is slim to none but weirder things have happened...

It starts with one... I want to win a tight one... Not a blow out, not a game they don't show up in. I want them to play their best hockey but we play our best and beat them. Thats the only way we can take any bit of confidence into game 5-7 if we get there... crash

I agree about Pitkanen... I think he will fetch too much on the open market. The other guy mentioned being Ehrhoff I would love. I know someone said he would be promoted but with Ehrhoff in the lineup and another D that isnt going to fetch as much as Pitkanen would still keep Ericsson as our number 6/7 defenseman and that could change by supplying Kindl with more ice time. Now, I haven't gone though the free agent market and I dont know who else is available but I think Ehrhoff could be great for the number 2-4 D posistion and run on the PP. He did that all year with Vancouver and was part of their number 1 PP with Edler. Also as far as Holmstrom and Bertuzzi go, we are stuck with them. They will be in our lineup some where, and the thing about bertuzzi is maybe knowing he is slowing down and giving him a third line role maybe we will see more fights and more hitting like we did towards the end of the season instead of counting on him to score goals. I think in the long run this team needs a sniper (yes they are hard to come by). Franzen is too inconsistent during the regular season and if he has an off playoff year it could be a big problem like this year. Zetterberg doesn't have the 40 goal season in him anymore and we will be lucky to see 30 out of him. We need a guy that can find the back of the net at a mid 30 goal pace to add to it as it will help give franzen and zetterberg more ice. I think two trigger guys in our line up one with Zetterberg and one with Datsyuk could be incredibly beneficial... cause right now we only have one. Crash

The real question was where was the puck on the initial wrap around... Niemi was very deep in his net and there is a good chance that the original wrap around that the puck was in but underneath Niemi... But like everyone said.. for some reason that was never another replay shown...

I agree with 2/3rds of your post... Franzen and Cleary need to be difference makers. They were way to quiet in game 1. As for Zetterberg I thought he did fine for playing his first game on what 2-3 weeks... The good thing about zetterberg is we know once he gets his legs under him he will get back in to form.

I think that for me it is pretty simple. I want Nashville, for a lot of the reasons stated above (travel, offense, and etc.). I think my key selling point is I rather watch San Jose try to seem revenge for the sweep last year as they play the Hawks, as we play Nashville. This also sets us up for a great WCF against either a revenge series against the Sharks or to take down the defending Champs in a rival series. I think on a way to a cup nothing would be better then taking down the champs and Chicago all in one stone. I Love our chances against Nashville, a lot more then having to go through San Jose and the assuming Vancouver...

What about a guy like Ehrhoff... especially if the Nucks don't win a cup this season... He is a UFA.

I really wouldn't mind if this was the beginning of Filppulas break out that everyone has been waiting for...

I really think that even getting 10-15 octopi on the ice at once would be the best... Especially on a versus or NBC game... I would choose NBC cause they have better pre game coverage in my opinion. I think a national audience seeing 15 octopi hit the ice would make a statement... If you plan it right and everyone is throwing at the same time during the anthem. It will be harder to track down the throwers with everyone standing and with 15 flying it would be hard to pin point any way... I also think it would be best cause you will be less likely to hit any players since they will be at a stand still and it will really get the boys going. If I saw my fan base make that kind of stand, I'd want to make a stand for them...

Yea when I mentioned and 30-40 octopi I said you would have to pick a preset good time. I was thinking at the end of the game but I don't think it would have the same impact... You would have to decide on a time that wouldn't hurt the sanctity of the game...

I'm all for helping... I don't have the time to be calling into the NHL offices but I think I could definitely call into NHL Live and stuff and get the word out there more... I think fans of all teams would find this to be a disgrace. This is a 59 year old tradition and some guy that has been in the league all of what 5 years is deciding that he can try to ruin that tradition for what cause. I was also thinking some one mentioned about everybody in the entire arena throwing octopus on the ice at once, yes thats a little over board but the same concept could be used. I think if you got a handful of people try to get the upwards of 30-40 people all to throw Octopus at the same time at the same game. That would be quite a site and as dumb as it sounds might make a little bit of a statement saying that we are going to go against whatever he tries to pull. I think even attaching a note to one of the legs basically telling Bettman to F Off would be a nice touch. I obviously think this needs to be done at the end of the game or a late goal or some time where 30-40 octopi wont be too long of a delay to the game. I love the tradition as long as it's done in the confines of the rules. Really no matter when it happened I don't think it could cause any more of a delay the the Rats during the Panthers games in what 94,95 or 96? This is getting a little absurd, the reasoning behind his complaints are starting to get old and quite frankly are garbage. crash

But we would have had to sign him for Atleast a Million more then franzen makes plus were talking bout the same Hossa that had goals in all of what 3 games in our 2009 playoff run? I know franzen looks bad and is very streaky but as long as he hits the hot part of his streak during the playoffs Ill take Franzen over hossa plus another player for a million... Crash

The only thing is... if you had to look at the schedules... I guarantee you would prefer to play Colorado and Minnesota then a back to back with your Rival that won your division. I cant see dallas coming out with less then 2 but hopefully 3-4 points.. especially if Dallas wins tonight and we beat the Hawks in regulation. That would set up for one hell of a Sunday game... Im hoping that come Sunday that Chicago's fate is still to be determined and can be controlled by us... Lets go boys.... crash

Are we really all that surprised.... If this hasn't been the trend since the 08 finals... Watching some of the calls in the 08 finals and the entire 09 Playoffs in favor of a certain team. Then Last year with certain calls going for another certain team, both ended up leading the team to a Stanley cup. Of course the NHL wants the Hawks to "Defend their Cup." Yes, I think its going to be a pretty miserable attempt. Let em make it get a lower draft pick and embarrassed by some team in the playoffs. Just hope they face Vancouver I think they want to make a statement. Let em make it against the Hawks and not the entire playoff run. The NHL is about ratings, and if that means hurting the reputation of the league to the fans that aren't going any where because they love the sport, to bring more fans in and more money.
