On NHL.com they are having a contest to see who the fans consider the Ultimate Leader. Today Lidstrom is facing Kesler today and so far is winning 61% to 39%. If he wins he will be against Toews in the finals. I know you have to sign up for it cause but I think that has to do with the fact that your entering the sweepstakes for SCF tickets for this playoffs. I think everybody should get on and vote for our Captain and our Leader. Crash

Both are incorrect.... First if we did claim him.... We would pick up half his salary and the Flyers would pick up the other half since its Re-entry Waivers.... Second... We can not pick him up and have him play this year... This is because he was not on our roster or organization before the trade deadline. He wouldn't be allowed to dress for us until next season... I'm not going to lie... as painful as it was to watch, we needed this.... I think losing game after game 5-4, 3-2, 4-2... so on and so forth... by shoot outs and over times... gives the team a false sense of security that they are right there, but not constantly not putting the effort to get over the hump to start winning those games. A game like is is really a kick in the teeth. It is embarrassing as a player and shows you really how poor and how horrible you are actually playing. I know everyone else is hoping that this is a kick start to a great playoff run and quite frankly in can go either way. We can take it as a "bad night" shake it off and get back to mediocre hockey or we can take it as an insult that some one came into our barn, ran all over us, and we just laid over and took it. Hopefully we take that second look about it and play with a chip on our shoulder the rest of the way. Make every game a statement game and not just the next one. This is about as positive I can get with this game... hopefully we take this as a kick in the teeth and turn it around... crash

I don't think this is doomsday.... do we need to get our s*** together... YES and fast... but I think everyone knows playoffs is a different monster... and If you cant wake up for playoffs you don't deserve to be in the league... The only think that could cheer me up is waking up and seeing a new Desktop background of the schedule for the last couple games of the season... even if its the same picture just the new games...

The refs wont blow the injury until we get control of the puck or they are no longer in a scoring threat, which being on a power play it would have been hard to break up an offensive threat 5 on 3. This is all through the ref's discretion if they feel that the injury isn't obviously life threatening. This rule works for a couple instances like when the net is knocked off its pegs and the puck goes up ice. The puck will stay in play until the offensive threat is ended. I think that a lot of people are confusing Eaves face of disgust of Kronwall pushing him with the disgust of not being able to stand up because of the blocked shot and the pain that was induced. The ref wasn't going to blow the whistle and knowing the type of player Eaves is I can almost guarantee that he was completely okay with what Kronwall did.

For those saying it was dumb I guarantee you that if they asked Eaves he would be happy Kronwall did it... Kronwall knew he blocked a shot and a hockey player doesn't mind some pain for the benefit of the team. That would have been a 5 on 3 basically with Eaves not able to stand up laying right in the middle to get rocked by another shot. These guys are NHL'rs they know the Ref's wont blow the whistle and Kronwall knew that it wasn't a torn act or anything from a blocked shot. Yes it probably caught Eaves by surprise but I bet for a fact and I know I would want the same as a hockey player is to get me off the ice cause I wouldn't want to be responsible for a goal against. Great sacrifice by Eaves to block the shot, and heads up play by Kronwall and Eaves to get him off the ice. Crash

Franzens contract will be okay if he does one of two things... Starts hitting The high 30, low 40 goal numbers or he needs to start racking up more assists and being more of a two dimensional player, not just a shooter. The other key factor is he needs to continue to be a big playoff player. Crash

Lol But back on topic, I really wouldn't mind Datsyuk or Rafalski taking an extra game off to just rest their injuries. Especially Datsyuk. It is extremely hard to get mad at the guys plays but between the 1 or 2 glorious moves and chances he has been playing sub par for his standards with a lot of bad passes through the middle of the offensive zone for turnovers... Seems very unPav like, hopefully he gets his head straightend out. Crash

Here's to hoping for a Wings win! I can't remember if it was the last time we played Ovie or the time before that, but we shut him down and he had 0 shots. A defensive performance like that against him and Semin would be a great way to get our defense kicking and ready for a good playoff run... Crash

Yea... I was watching the game and the announcers were just embarrassing. They actually compared the hit to the one on Stuart, what a joke, even all the Pens fans I know hate them, homerism at its prime... as for the hit... Clean hit, he even made sure that he kept his arms tucked and down so that he wouldn't get him in the head. crash

Everyone does realize we played one of the Hottest teams in the league right now, on the tail end of a back to back, on a west coast road trip, with our THIRD string goaltender and without our number 2 Defenseman? Sorry if I don't think the sky is falling... Of course I would have loved to beat the Sharks but a Healthy roster in the playoffs where it isn't back to back and were traveling the same distance we beat them in a 7 game series... crash

I like Datsyuks hands way to much to have him try that recovering wrist with a punch.... As much as it would be nice to see Datsyuk KO Perry it would never be worth losing him over. Ericsson can be replaced if the worst case scenario happened... And quite frankly some one needs to step up for that gutless prick thinking he should even try to tilt with Datsyuk. Ericsson has gone with him before and tossed him around pretty good.... Make a statement kid just like you did with Franzen... He out reaches a lot of guys in the league so as long as he doesn't try tilting with a heavy he should fair okay...

Agree with you completely... Thinks like how they play with out the other stars make a big impact. I believe that was one of the main impacts of Sedin winnin the Hart last season... Everyone talked about how well he carried the team and played when his twin brother was out on injury... The intangibles really can make a difference... The only other one that I might include in the race is Yandle... The guy is having a big year... not a great plus minus... but either does Lids... Leads D in points... I def. think he will get a nomination... crash
