I think the fact that all the GM meetings are going on and that Pittsburgh doesn't play again till Thursday they are just buying there time and figuring out what is best for the situation. Its a good thing they have this time cause they can really think it through and see if they want to make an example out of Cooke. If they don't then there will probably be a big out cry from a lot of GM's I don't know how partial some GM's are, or which ones want strict enforcement on it and which ones don't... but I'm assuming that there are enough that due to the timing of the hit being a day before the GM meetings about head contact that there WILL be something done about this hit... and my personal opinion is that there should be.... crash

If you have direct tv and the package.... and you feel like watching a treat of a game..... turn it on... they have the megatron and they have the radio broadcast... its pretty funny... and no commercials.... lol

yea i know... but if we win a couple and they lose a couple... it could give us a lot of breathing room especially since we play the flames twice.... and anaheim and dallas losing helps our cause....

yea.... my numbers are really high because of the fact I'm going of the fact that Calgary will go the rest of the season winning every game... this what happened... but like I said... this is following what we need to guarantee playoffs... If the Flames lose today that would help us out....

I loved the intensity we had in the first.... we slowed down a little but with a 4-0 lead... obviously we are going to let of the gas a little because we don't have a kill mentality.... SIGH... Calgary up 4-1.... wanted a big L for them tonight to give us some breathing room....

yea i understand that.... just seemed like when they showed the fans after the goal some were still just sitting there clapping... i havnt been to the joe in over 3 years.... so maybe its just the tv not doing it justice.... trying to make a trip for playoffs this year.... so the fingers are crossed....

That a boy Z... how come it seems like the Joe is really quiet... after that goal they panned over to some fans... and they were just sitting there clapping... a couple were kids which i understand... but just not as loud as I would hoped it would be especailly with how big every game is now...

I have been saying that exact thing over and over again.... Not on here but in my head and to my friends... It makes no sense to try to save a country struggling to grab the concept of hockey... by force feeding them a player that isnt even from there country.... Bettman needs a guy like Parise or Kane, a young player that is really starting to make a statement in the NHL and on the International Level... Every fan that jumped on to the crosby band wagon finally just realized they were rooting for the enemy when it came to the olympics...

Im still looking for all the complaints you guys are talking about...??? only complaint I have heard is how horrible Dan O"Hallaran is and I hope we can all agree that he is a brutal ref as wings fans....

Thats actully a pretty interesting question and if you watch the USA vs Canada game tom. you might be able to pick it up... but... There is actulyl a reason behind it all.... In a lot of countries (Canada, Russia, European countries) the players are taught to use there strong hand (usually there right) to be the top hand of there stick, which makes them a left shot. In the United States a lot of players get taught to use their strong hand as the bottom hand on there shaft. (If you watch team USA tom. notice a lot of the players are right handed instead of left handed) I was taught the American way of having my strong hand on the bottom, and when i stick handle I control my stick with my bottom hand and my shot power comes from my bottom hand. Which is not the proper from. Though it can work better for some players... A lot of other countries teach there players to use there top hand to control the puck and get the power of there shot from there top hand. They do this by pulling the butt end of the stick back towards the body. This is supposed to generate more power. This leaves the bottom hand for more of a guide for the stick and lets the top hand have all the control for stick handling.... sorry if thats a really long explanation but I hope it helps.... crash

The original airing of the 1980's USA vs Russia game is goign to be aired. Im trying to find out the details but I'm having a little trouble so if anybody has any details it would be greatly appreciated. on the side note I think this is pretty cool being the fact that I have never seen the entire original footage... me either... my mom heard it on the news last night that was covering the olympics and talked about the 30th aniversary and they said they would be reshowing the game today to celebrate it...

come on... somebody else has to of heard this and know the details.... haha

Im also going for the anything can happen trend... Dont forget a team we arent even talking about which is Finland did take Silver last go around in a 3-2 game against Sweden. I gurentee looking at rosters last year nobody would have predicted Finland going that deep. Yes Nittymaki had a huge tournament for them, but just like playoffs goalies can steal games and this is no different. Anybody can win on anyday...

I hope that dont go a game for each player, but it makes sense since they do go by the IIHF rules....
