The CBC announcers said it best, the Lang and Bert pairing was a great line tonight. I have not been impressed with Lang on occasion but tonight he played great!

Detroit went from 7th overall in the regular season to 3rd last in the playoffs on our penalty kill. The last few seasons the team with the best penalty kill has had tremendous success in the playoffs. What is happening with the Wings? I have watched a few games using this method. The CBC feed is surprisingly fast without any lag or macro blocking. I watched the World Jr's via TSN broadband in Jan and it was horrible. The only downside is that there are no commercials. I do not miss the commercials but I miss the noise. During breaks they just show a solid screen advertising other games. No audio at all. Very off. But at least the game quality is great (even does full screen) and the commentary is the best in the business.

Why wouldn't he play? He came back after getting cleaned up in he dressing room in game 3. Cleary hit him hard but he played later in the game.

I am not lucky enough to get the game tonight. Anyone know if Versus or CBC or other are going to stream via the internet?

I may be mistaken but it seems that Kyle Calder has disappeared during these playoffs. I loved him in the regular season and even picked him in my hockey draft thinking his gritty style would bode well. However he has had no points a few hits and really has not shown up. I know this may seem like a fan who is dejected over the loss last night but I felt this way after the wins. I figured as long as they won he must be doing his assigned job but I am not so sure anymore. I was expecting Calder to be playing like Cleary did last night. Hitting hard, winning battles for the puck and owning Dion. Anyone else feel or notice this?

I love that line in your response... I can just picture the fridge sitting in the faceoff circle waiting for the drop only to be bewildered and sit there all still... like a fridge. lol Good comment, thanks

I think Atlanta needs to beef up on defense and consider a coaching / vision change. Despite ranking decent going into the playoffs they had the 2nd worst Penalty Kill in the regular season for playoff teams. They also had the worst Power Play percentage in the regular sason (Detroit was second) when only including teams that made the playoffs. They may be good 5-5 but that is worthless in the playoffs. Playoffs are won with a strong PK and PP.

I enjoy how angry everyone is getting when all I did was ask whether anyone else felt that Calder was not performing up to his regular season (at the end) caliber. I think he is a great player, I am not blaming anything on him or marking him as a scapegoat. I simply wanted to see if anyone else felt that he was not as gritty and as tough in the first 3 games as he could/should be. No one should be bashing Calder in any way, he is a great player. I just wanted to know it anyone else thought he should have fought and could be tossing some bodies around some more. Let me turn it around on you guys, wow I love coming here after a loss to ask a question about a player who has been average rather then great only to be told that I am ripping into him and throwing in the towel. I expect the Wings to win with authority on Thursday night (I am thinking Hasek will get a shutout). I am sorry if I made anyones day worse by inquiring about Calder (really just wanted to know if anyone knew if he had injuries or other issues). Over reactions are a pain in the butt, please think about what you write before you attack. Do not accuse others when you yourself are over reacting.

Alright it works great now...

Did you post the correct link? I cannot view the video on youtube error says: The video you have requested is not available. If you have recently uploaded this video, you may need to wait a few minutes for the video to process.

Your comment makes sense to me. I have liked the few mins of time where Calder has hit and worked but he does not seem to win the battles (turns the wrong way and misses the puck or whatever). I would like to see him picking it up a little more. I so badly wanted him to fight last night just to see the emotion come alive from him. I think you may be right. He is just paired with the wrong line mates. No knocking Lang or anyone but perhaps Calder needs to be mixed up with a different line just to get him rolling again. I would love to see Calder and Bert on the same line. Centered by Lang or Flip. Calder and Bert could play off each other like Thorton and Cheechoo. But we shall see what Babcock does after a loss. We looked good all game and I figured we were going to silence them in the 3rd but for a costly mistake so Babs may just stick with the same lines for one more game.

I never said he is a useless sh*t. I simply am curious why a guy who was looking brilliant in the regular season has been almost unheard of in the post season. There could be any number of reasons: 1. He may be injured but hiding it 2. Fatigue playing into it (too many fights along the boards) 3. Has he played in the post season before? 4. Something behind the scenes (someone give him hell and he is upset?) 5. Something at home? 6. He just lost an edge in his play? 7. standard slump? 8. Nerves (the wing is a huge responsibility to have on a player) I could go on.. I love the player and was pumped to see him acquired and have a great end to the regular season. I am not bashing him in anyway. I simply am asking for peoples opinions on why he has seemingly went from a power forward to just a regular forward.

I love these forums, we all get to bicker and enjoy ourselves. I laughed so hard when I read that line. I am sorry I am not agreeing or disagreeing with either of you I just had to say thanks for making me laugh. I love challenges like that.

Those lines would be amazing against Calgary's grit and speed. However you need to put Cleary in place of Maltby on the 4th line. Draper and Cleary were amazing last night so do not split them up. Dats-Hank-Homer Franzen-Filppula-Bertuzzi Maltby-Lang-Hudler Cleary-Draper-Calder Then you have 3 amazing lines and the 3rd line to be used when we need to give the big guns a rest. To everyone: Do not loose faith, our team is going to win game 4. Hasek let in a weak goal at the end (nice shot but this is Hasek) and he will bounce back with a perfect game. I am calling for the shutout as he will step up and be huge for us in game 4. Hasek hates losing and as a result he is going to be spectacular in game four.

If anyone has a link to a youtube video or other showing the hit it would be much appreciated. I like to relive the great moments. Now for anyone who says it was not an elbow to the head you are crazy. It was a well hidden elbow (maybe even a forearm) but Cleary took a head shot to Dion and he did it on purpose. Dion elbowed Datsyuk in the head hard last game. It was dirty, ugly and brutal. Clearly was just providing some payback. He did so in a much worse way also. Dion had to go back to the dressing room to sniff the smelling salts. I know it was a head shot and I do not care. Dion got what was coming to him for the dirty elbow. Good on Cleary and good on the refs for allowing it (makes up for not calling the elbow on Dats) I laughed so damn hard when Dion was almost falling down after the goal. He was not even with it at all. I hate seeing players get hurt (on any team) but I love seeing the payback.

I saw that missed call also and I was screaming at my TV (much to my sleeping wife's dismay). I saw that interference and thought for sure that Calgary was about to get a penalty. I figured now we have a power play and the chance to put this away. I was very disappointed in the refs on that missed call. In fact I think several times during the game calls were poorly handled (Interference Call in the second when the Wing shot the puck then got bumped by a Flames player and called... WTF) But I also feel the CBC jinxed Lids last night. And sadly Yzerman helped then with this. I love Yzerman but he went on after the second period and talked about how Lids it 100% perfect in every game and never makes any mistakes. I hate when that happens. Last year when Yzerman was hurt in the series against Edmonton he did interviews with the CBC and the same things happened. I love seeing Yzerman on TV but the jinx is not helping. lol

Like I said in my post I am not coming out against the team and running into the town square screaming that the sky is falling. I am simply disappointed that our trade deadline grit is not making an impact. Perhaps it is due to the mismatch pairing of Lang, and Calder. I have never been a huge Lang fan but this series I feel he has shown some skill. I want to see Calder win battles for the puck and step into guys. These first few games I have seen him turn away from hits and give the puck away (something gritty people do not do) Last night CBC announcers said that Calder and some Flames player were exchanging words. I wanted so badly for Calder to drop the mitts. If he would have tuned someones clock it would have changed the momentum and given the team and perhaps Calder the spark to help them battle. Plus even if he got beat or the fight was close at least he would have been showing some emotion and grit.

For those of us who missed this amazing download the first time could anyone please reseed to share. There are 2 people downloading right now (myself and another fellow). The other guy has 81% of the data so we need someone to provide the rest. Thanks

You rule, thank-you very much!

Wow 12 Mb for a song! Oh well perhaps someone could post the file on a better resource then file factory?

Someone needs to put this video onto youtube. Filefactory is a pin in the butt...

Shouldn't it be "They play Charlestown Chiefs Hockey" Hmm Hartnell, Tootoo and Hordichuk with thick black glasses could be the Hanson Brothers
-
That I can agree with, seems to me that very rarely do multiple players get major injuries (Cheechoo is still hurt just playing at less then 100%) in 2 games back to back. Likely the Preds coaching is telling them to hit any and everything and just not encouraging them to be extra clean about it. But I suspect they only want this behavior from their goons (Hartnell and Tootoo). Nashville is not as strong a team without Radulov and the coaching staff (In all their infinite stupidity) are aware of this.

The Forsberg dive was a bull call. How can he dive when he does not see guerin coming? Plus Guerin got an interference penalty. How can you be interfered with but take a dive. It was a bull call and just another example of the poor reffing in these playoffs.
