STATISTICAL ANALYSIS = FAIL You are assuming ONLY home-team fans watch the game. There is undoubtedly a fixed amount of hockey fans who watch the game nationwide, and a given percentage of the home fans will watch it at an increased rate. Your assumption that Crosby therefore generated more nationwide interest is utterly, completely without statistical merit.

Their genitals are small and ineffectual, they are dumber than ditch-carp, their sisters are syphillitic whores, their brothers give b.j.s for food stamps, their mothers are burka-clad terrorists, and they all need to DIE! That's about it.
-
YOU DIE!!! YOU GO TO HELL AND THEN YOU DIE!!!

That is a shame. Of all of the low-life piece-of-trash, scum-sucking, pig-copulators that have gone through the Colorado Avacramps system, he seemed like a classy, hard-working guy... too bad it couldn't have happened to Forskin, Roy, Lemieux, Crawford, etc., etc., etc., etc.

OK, now SEAN, KWAAME, TOOTOO, & PRICK-PRONGER are all victims of a racist society!!!

SEAN & KWAAME are VICTIMS OF SOCIETY!!!

Well said and my thoughts exactly. PLUS, we're keeping on players out of pure loyalty who are perhaps not at maximal function (although kudos to Malts for his recent efforts.) I think Franzen has earned some loyalty, which is a long-term investment...if players around the league see the Wing's loyalty (which they do) it will be easier in the future to get quality guys to come here. Still, Hossa is a monster.

Bring back Kuznetsov & Cross!!!

St Louis reaction to Palin dropping puck this Friday

Scientific research shows they hate us because they have very, very teeny-tiny brains and even more miniscule and ineffective genitals. True. -
The league really needs to get rid of all of these stupid, useless teams nobody cares about... like Colorado, Pittsburgh, Nashville, and Anaheim.

Wow, analysis unhindered by actual thought...Thanks for your addition. Much like in the movie "Miracle," the best players wouldn't necessarily make for the best team. Stevie Y gets a lot of credit for making sure those superstars coming in during the pre-cap days were PART of the team, not THE team. If Sindy came aboard, it would be all about him...his whining, simpering, crappy penalty-killing, soft-ass self. Sindy would never have accomplished what Hank did during that infamous 5-on-3 during the playoffs because he doesn't feel he needs to, the archtypical "that's not my job, I'm a superstar" philosophy. So while you accurately assessed that they aren't Crosby and that the system makes them what they are, you fail to take the next logical step and realize that Crosby would never be THEM, nor would he be able/willing to be part of that system. It's a long season, and the Wings undoubtedly will lose more games. Duh. Who wouldn't want Ovechkin on their team? Not worth losing the chemistry of a STANLEY CUP CHAMPION, though. The others aren't worth mentioning. What an idiot. Trade Conn Smythe/Selke Stanley Cup champs for a Sindy who has won...ummmmm....lets's see........ Well, he gets a lot of press. You fail.

no. Discuss? You're an idiot for even bringing it up. Next?

Hank pulled his groin from his honeymoon with Emma? YOU DA MAN!!!!!! YOU DA MAN!!!!! YOU DA MAN!!!!!!

OK, this isn't an excuse, BUT.... They spent the day at the White House, then came back to Detroit. They looked like they weren't in their regular groove and I think the distractions of pre-season may have made them iffy in the opener against Toronto and the day in Washington D.C. (instead of coming back to Detroit) may have thrown them off their game last night. I'm not in the least concerned. If they still look sluggish ten games into the season, then we'll see.

Number 5 should be retired next. No questions asked. Period. THE END.

"Habs" seems less offensive than the more frequently-used moniker "Froggies."
-
Nick's gone, now Pavel. Season's over...maybe next year. Just give the cup to the Blues and get it over with.
-
Honestly though. I know there's rough parts of New York that you would NOT want to stray into, but getting lost in Detroit will get you hurt/killed.
-
Rough Crowd? I try to go to lots of NHL and minor league games and although us Wings fans are EXTREMELY loyal (and I know this sounds like a homer thing to say) , I think we are the most accomodating to other team's fans. The few unpleasantries I've ever seen is twice when opposing fans got drunked up and wanted to start getting in our fans faces. That, of course, just comes under the category of stupid. One was an AVS guy who was pissed 'cause they were getting clobbered so he got up, turned around, and threw his beer on a guy and his kid sitting next to me...nobody had said or done ANYTHING to this ideeeot other than cheer. His precious Roy (rhymes with 'boy') jersey got covered by my nachos.
-
Correct. There's a nice suburb called "Highland Park" which isn't too far away. You can actually probably stay there and walk to the game...
-
No $$$ available, no spot available, he doesn't fit in any more, we don't need him. So, NO! I loved him while he was here, but that's gone...
-
The addition of Claude Lepuke or Patrick Roy (rhymes with 'boy) would require me to re-evaluate my long-held love of the Winged Wheel. The End.

I have a very cool poster I won at the auction that Toast of Hockeytown back after the 2002 Cup season that has all of the players autographs except Stevie Y. I wonder if he will be signing autographs or just speaking? The site doesn't really say. Does anyone know? Thanks in advance.
-
That's as close as that little dirt-bird (or Cindy Crosby) is getting to the cup...or class, for that matter!
-
EXCELLENT! Talking to him at Toast of Hockeytown last year, he seems like an extraordinarily congenial guy (sadly, a lot like Jiri F.) He did all that the Wings asked of him, basically. Hope he scores a goal this year, though.
