That no goal call against the Caps was total garbage. Halak went down because he was SCREENED! He had no sight of the puck and went down to try to make a stop. There was contact, but no contact to prevent him to make the save. Moments like that have ruined countless of games, but in all seriousness the Capitals had tons of other chances to close the series out. Don't get me wrong, that was bulls***, but so was how the Capitals played with a 3-1 series lead.

I came here to watch Playoff Hockey, not Olympic Diving tryouts. Everyone seems to be a salesmen, even Draper, but how many years has officiating ruined Playoff Hockey? I was stoked to see Wings and Sharks battle it out, its always good hockey. But here comes the Refs to screw things up for both sides. Yeah, we go the raw end of it, but I hated some of the weak calls we got in our favor. I wanna see teams win as fair and square as possible. The Wings could have won Game 1, but all the arguments in the won't change the fact that Game 2 is a new game. I expect the Wings to come out with better play and win this one despite the possible reffing issues that have yet to occur. But I hope the players will stop being cheap and just play like you mean it. But as far as the reffing goes, I hate how nowadays it seems Champions are crowned in part by officiating (it is unavoidable, but they have had a bigger stake in it at times). I also dislike the "Let Them Play" attitude because its an excuse for a team to really start getting away with obvious penalties. However, the Gold Medal game. I loved how it was a LTP attitude because both sides really got into it and they let the minor stuff slip, but it seems that was a rarity.

Our special teams weren't there tonight. If they show up we got a good shot. Also, the Refs stunk worse than spoiled milk.

The Varlamov thing seemed predictable, like he was hoping for last playoffs to carry through. The Capitals had it in them to win this series, but it felt it was the coaching (or lack of coaching) that hurt the Capitals. BTW, Mike Green is GARBAGE. That late 1st period penalty he took which led to a PP goal was stupid and it costed his team the game. It was stupid. He was stupid. God I can't get over how bad he was. The Habs played patient defense and Halak was playing out of his mind. I hope they can repeat and beat the Pens. I also would like to see Boston beat the Flyers.

Ovie needs to pull his head out of his ass and get a hat trick to send the Habs to the golf course. I want Washington to win soooo bad because that means the Bruins, with Savard back, would face the Pens. I think Boston has a good shot to beat the Pens, and I wanna see payback for the Cooke hit.

The Wings overpowered the Yotes, plain and simple. They really convinced everyone that they should go to the second round. Yandle, Aucoin, Fiddler, Doan, and Jovo are people who I hated in this series. Aucoin opened his mouth on the radio and he got his candy ass served to him on a platter. Yandle is just a complete ****** (worthless pile of s***, for clarification) for tripping Zetterberg after the goal. Fiddler just cried all the time and did his best to make a dirty play here and there. As much as I liked Doan in the past, I call what happened to him Karma. You don't go around acting like the worlds biggest ****** bag and not expect the Hockey Gods to get upset. A lot of cheap hits and when he did not have the puck he was constantly causing interference (which he got called for once). Even with Doan in the lineup, there is no way to avoid the ass beating that we dished out in Game 7. Jovo is another guy who I used to like, you have a lot of bark but little or no bite at all. To the Coyotes I dislike, I hope you enjoyed Game 7, it was a special home delivery from the heart of Detroit. The rest of the Yotes I fairly liked and wish them to prosper in Phoenix. Glad to see you show the support to the fans and I'd love to see you guys wreck the Blackhawks and Sharks in playoffs to come. I also hated how they cried to the Refs every time the play was whistled dead. I also hated the "Us Against the World" mentality. Its so goddamn cliche and every team is against the rest of the world. Find something a little more original, maybe it might work next time. If you guys spent less time whining and more time focused on defensive coverage it might have ended differently.

Its funny you mention this. Tonight, my dad reminded me of how one of the first Wings game I really got into was the 02 WCF Game 7 against the Avs and how we completely dismantled them and sent them back to colorado in pieces. The goal by Stuart was a backbreaker and Bert/Lids goals were the Wings bringing the hammer down. Really reminded me of that Game 7 against the Avs. Kudos to the boys. They finished everything tonight. They finished plays (finally) and really finished the Coyotes off. I liked that they got 6 goals, they wanted it bad and they were insistent on finishing them off. They didn't give them a chance to come back at all. Whew. BTW.... Can we get moar threads like these if they work all the time?

Dusting off an old one

Zetterberg was out of this world good. He really showed up and made a difference #2 Datsyuk. He has been awefully silent last year's playoffs and he started things of good. #3. Howard. Struggled at first it seemed but he really caused the Coyotes problems #4 Franzen. Joined Zetterberg and Howe as the only Red Wings to score a point in every game of a best of 7 series. Yeah, I was not thrilled he only recorded 1 goal this series, but when he wasn't scoring (or when he did not score) he was dishing out assists, which Datsyuk turned into goals. EDIT: # 5 Filpulla. Sick as usual and I totally spaced adding him in. Keep it up man, you rock. Everyone else did a great job and looked hungry (Helm, Cleary, etc), I will even let Bert off the hook with his goal. Our defense hopefully will turn things up a notch (E, Lils, Kronwall I am looking at you) An honorable mention I want to make Draper. He really played hard on a lot of shifts. Glad to see he still has it in him.

Yeah. Pretty classless. That trip on Z was also classes. I know people get frustrated but come the F' on. Screw both of them.

Also, why does VS. only show the Chi and SJ feeds for their games? I haven't seen one game fed from the opposition. EDIT: God Dammit! THE SAME F-ING WAY THEY HAVE SCORED ALL THEIR GOALS!
