If by some miracle of God the Sharks win this series it wouldntbe that big of a deal. 1 horrible team makes it out of a series because the other team was good but then became horrible. Not the crowd favorite to win the Cup gets beat in 7 games by peewees after going up 3-0 in the series. Besides, Im sure Dallas will win game 6 at home, they did it against the Dicks..I mean Ducks... and this 2 day rest is good for them to get some gas in their tanks to finish it off. They should have won game 5, but the frustration im sure will motivate some Stars players to be the difference maker.

Is this guy supposed to be the next Gretzky? I heard he is good but it sounds like he thinks he can win a Cup for whoever he plays for.
-
Is there any need to ask this question? Franzen. And Kudos to everyone else, everyone played great (except Lilja, for some reason he always finds a way to make a mistake to allow a goal).
-
I hope Sakic returns, I have a lot of respect for the guy and feel he is the only other player worthy to wear #19.

tough call... if it aint broken dont fix it, but Maltby is good.... I say let things lay as they are, Babs needs to change anything, Malts should be the first back into the lineup -- he's proven his worth.

Neither, Dallas wont go easy, but I think we have the fuel in the tank to finish them in 5. If we face the Pens, our defense needs to show up to win that series. IF by some miracle San Jose wins in 7, they wont last against the Wings, right now we are rested and healthy and ready.
-
Rest is a good thing but Babs needs to keep them on their toes and sharp; the way they have been playing is great and I think if they keep it up they have a good shot at winning it all this year.

I have to agree with everyone, 7-0 was epic, it reminds me of the saying he who laughs last laughs the loudest, and after 2002 the rivalry ended with Detroit coming back and winning 7-0 in game 7, then going on to win the Cup. We destroyed Roy, and dismantled the team that should have beat us, and shut them out. You cant get any better on a text book domination. Tonights game was a surprise, but let me say Detroit showed that they can win a cup, they just didnt get by an "injured Avs team" tonight, they massacred them, which is what any championship contender would have done.

Smyth and Forsberg out for tonights game.

if thats the case, Wings fans should bring a broom to the game

Detroit is winning this series in part of one reason I said it would: coaching. Babcock would have to outcoach Q, but obviously Q has made Babs job a lot easier.

The Flyers can beat the Habs, it just depends on how the Flyers defense holds up. Biron is great, and showed it in game 3, but his defense needs to be there for him so they can keep their 2 goal leads. The Sharks are back to usual business, losing in the playoffs. I expect Dallas to bring down the hammer and put that last nail into the coffin for the Sharks. When you go down 0-3 in a series, you are there for a reason, and its that same reason why you wont win 4 in a row.

Lets win the Cup first, then discuss!

Stastny out for series; Smyth doubtful for Game 4
RedLightGoesOn replied to 40#1Fan's topic in General
since it looks like Dallas will finish things up tonight, I say the Wings should win game 4, because if we both sweep, the WCF could start Sunday/Monday. -
A warning to the Stars (and the eastern conference)

AMEN! -
It was time for him to go, he was great for us, but now the Wings are different today. Im happy he likes New York, but part of me will always miss him and Feds back in the 1990s-2002 era.
-
"For he's a jolly good fellow..." Keep it up Lids, happy b-day
-
they remember 1999, I remember 2002, when we chased the beloved Patty Wah in Game 7.

Wait... the Sharks arent winning in the playoffs? How is this news? Wilson a poor coach? How is this news? Patty M sipping wine between intermission? How is this news? Honestly what did you expect. Dallas is playing a lot better than the Sharks. Plus, poopoo on the Sharks for letting their series with Calgary go to 7 games. Thats not what "one of the most dominant teams in the NHL" does to the 7th seed Flames, thats not what a dominant team does. Nabokov isnt the best thing since sliced bread either... when it comes to crucial games, he looks like a kid flailing his arms around pretending he can fly, much like Hasek, except it works most of the time for Hasek. Nabokov cant win games, and you need your goaltender to steal a game or two in the playoffs. And "Big" Joe Thorton, if anything that is Big about Joe Thorton its his ranking on goals scored in the playoffs this season...which is tied for last. When the Sharks start winning, now thats news-worthy.

Here is the gameplan : Play a full 60 minutes of hockey and of course, win. Thoedore can be sick or depressed or have a tummy ache, if they put him in net its like throwing a raw piece of meat into the Lion cage at the zoo. All we really need to do is win 1 game in Colorado, so we can finish it in 5 back home in Detroit, to give ours guys some rest, but not enough to make them rusty. That being said, I won't argue with winning in 4 either. But I would expect the Avs to muster something up to win at least 1 game.
-
Franzen has been great the entire playoffs.... if he isnt scoring, hes creating chances. You cant ask much more from Franzen, hes doing his job, and bringing us closer to the Cup. If that isnt proof look at March and his goals, hes proven he is consistent during the season and the playoffs.

Good news for us, bad news for Avs fans.
-
I thought the Avs would put up a better fight. Right now the scales are tipped hugely in Detroits favor, everything is working for us and everything isnt working for them.
