I plan on doing some... i've had a few ideas for the preds should we face them, but i cant guarentee quality... all my classes are cramming for the last test before the final.... so i might not have time to make them look good.

Detroits play style really causes problems for the Sharks, especially in a 7 game series we can really shut down the Sharks main game plan. I'll take the Sharks in a conference finals any day... we have beaten tougher teams in the playoffs in the past.

That would imply seeds 1 thru 4 would win. Anything could happen, where as the sharks could play the ducks just as likely as the wings playing the ducks.

The only reason why the Ducks won the Cup was because of Teemu Selani, dont get me wrong the Ducks were a solid team, but Selani was the difference maker (scoring the goal in OT to send us back to Anaheim with the chance of elimination). However, despite having Selani back, the rest of the Ducks team just doesnt seem with it. I think San Jose is a better team this year, but the Wings will beat either team for 2 reasons. 1) Defense. Our defense can shut down San Jose's "crowd around the net and pray that it goes in", 2) This one is a big if, but if the grind line should be as good as it was, we shut down their top line, plus score. I mean thats why we won championships, defense. The teams that I am worried about are the bottom dwellers, namely rank 8, only because they may become hot at the end of the season enough so to win them a playoff bid. I would say the Ducks get knocked off in the second round by San Jose, in 6. This was a matchup all of us were hoping for last year, and I want to see it again because whoever comes out on top will be drained and easy for us to pick off.

So after Sunday's game against Vancouver, I was wondering could Luongoo be the next big time goal tender in a Detroit uniform? I know he has a No Trade Clause in his 4 year contract with Vancouver, but do you think Holland would try to go after him? I know he's been looking at goaltenders recently and granted the Nucks wont let him go for a song. I think in a year or two when hes nearing the end of his contract or when it is up that he would be a Cup winning goalie for us, mainly because he would have one of the best defenses in the league backing him up, but I think a little more time in the NHL will turn him into that goalie that can rob a game and win a Cup or two... your thoughts?

No way, right now Holland is one of the best GM's, and he's in too deep to go to a different franchise now, I'm sure down the road if he won another Cup with us, yeah, maybe, and give the reigns to someone else. However, for the time being I dont think so, look what he has to work with, Dats, Z, Rex, etc. I dont think all the tea in China would make him jump ship.

Its a good idea to get away from a one-line team, but this one line was the most productive line last season.... Its good for a failsafe, but when we split this line up last year against the ducks during the playoffs we won 5-0. That should be a good indicator.

In 10 games hes got 11 penalties and several disallowed goals. Some of these calls are crap and he should have been called on other... I was at the game in Phoenix and I thought it was a crap call, and then he had his stick taken away from him from a Coyote player and no call (which led to the Yotes first goal). Its pure bulls***, yes Homer does do some stuff but they need to call that and not bad calls or phantom penalties, call the game as it is... if they miss it then thats too bad it happens, but cheap penalties don't make up for it.

Good, but not close... their PP is horrible, sure their PK is great, but lets face it, its the start of the season, what happens now and whos hot now really does not dictate how things will be at the end and how playoffs will go. The Wild have some things going for them now... but keep in mind teams have a tendancy to cool off and other have can heat up. I wouldn't lose sleep over Minnesota right now, yes they are winning, its only 7 games and 1 OTL, but there is plenty of hockey to be played. I say we address this in February again and see where they are... if they keep it up yeah they have a shot at the playoffs, but winning in post season is very different than a regular game.

I just got back from the game myself... this was my first EVER game I have been to live and it was my Wings too! I was soo happy Z got a goal and Maltby was the 1st star of the game. Go Wings!

Awesome job guys.. but 2/6 on the PP? Some things need to be worked out, because that should have been higher, along with getting full strength goals. The Wings did play hard and some of our new additions didn't wait to let everyone know they were in Wings jerseys too. I must say the Ducks had to have been feeling tired after the schedule they have. All in all the Ducks did luck out on a couple of chances, but a Wings win is a Wings win, I just would rather have them play better, but things have to be ironed out this season. You earned it, even though chance did play some part into it. Now go an celebrate because after this its no stopping till Lord Stanley returns to Detroit for a summer vacation.

I can't believe it, maybe the reffs had to fix todays game? Let me just say that I knew this would happen, based on the 2002 WCF series. If things are about to happen the same way in 2002, let me congratulate Teemu on the last goal his team will score this year. With that being said, whos going to lead us to victory? I know Dom can hold his end, but is this the hour where Hank steps up and leads the offensive rush? I am proud of the Wings.... after several early exits and votes of no confidence, we showed up for some hockey and have made it this far.... even if we lose to the Ducks, I can live with it, but I will still be pissed about the Ducks Sens finals.... Oh, just some more excitement.... Wings beat the Avs in '02 in 7 games, and beat a Cinderella Hurricane team in 5 games, (even tho Ottawa is seed 5 and Carolina was seed 3 in '02), right now the Sens are the Cinderella team....

I ate an early dinner with my family... then we sat on the edge of our seats everymoment... What a great night, I am so happy that the Wings won that, and also that they can make us feel really happy.
