Play Bert, his presence on the ice will defintely be big. This is all winnable, the Wings just have to know how to get things done and get them done. I think Hasek will become the Dominator tonight. Ok, Wings are up 2-0. we are burying them on shots, and dominating them. So we go up 2 games into Calgary, and Big Bert is coming back. What do you all think about the Wings and Flames now?

Wings will prevail, Calgary is a flat team now, I expect them to rally in game 3, but I think Wings in 5. Yeah they will be physical, but our guys will be physical too, and make them pay everytime Ignila takes a penalty, The Wings have been solid, and I especially think that Markov, Filpulla, Huds, and Co. will be eager to step up and prove themselves. I know we tend to be nervous, but this is a different Wings team from previous years. Its all about the momentum, the Wings have it and need to keep it if they want to win this series in less than 6 games.

Well this is a great one... I was born and grew up in Virginia and my Dad went to University of Michigan, and my Step-Dad went to Michigan State, but both of them came to Virginia too (they didnt know each other and came at different times too)... Needless to say, both of my houses are Michigan houses.

Because they last 3 west teams that made it to the finals were Cinderella teams. The East does not have the tough teams that the West does. And besides, the only reason why a West team will win is they have a bad start in the playoffs but then find their game and win, thats how the Wings, who were the last western champs, won. Also it might have been the fact that Carolina was also a Cinderella team. Just look at Carolina last year, they had a late start, but they beat the Cinderalla Oilers. Tampa Bay, late start, beat the Cinderalla Flames NJ, beat the Cinderella Ducks. Late starts usually mean success, the Wings had a late start this year and look whats up, we are #1 in the west (as of this post). Late starts usually mean a win when it counts the most. IIts just these damn Cinderella teams go to the finals and dont deliver.

After what happened to the Captain against the Flames during the playoffs in '04 I think the Wings, at least, should require that everyone wear some sort of protection.

Case and point for Betruzzi. And the defensemen suck. Keep the veterans, trade the new guys for physical defensemen. Tonight showed one thing, if a team gets really physical we can kiss Zett and Dats goodbye. We need to have tough grit players who can answer to physical play. Thats why we have not seen the Cup finals let alone the Conference finals. Edmonton and Clagary were physical teams that shut down most of our guys. Honestly the Red Wings are in no shape for the Cup, and tonights performance proves it. So eventually we become number one and have home ice advantage, but it doesnt matter. Teams always step it up a notch in the playoffs, and physical play is what really I see a lot of. When playoffs come, the physical game is going to be a major part that teams will use to win. Thats why if we go up against Nashville, I have to say we are toast. Bring Bertuzzi, and some physical defensemen and I think we might have a chance, but hopefully Babcock and Holland understand that we have to be able to play a physical game, by enduring and being tough right back. Hatcher and McCarty and Fischer were exellent defensemen, but we do not have them, we just have these new guys who dance like girls. When are we going to get some defensemen that will be bringing on the hurt to other teams? If we don't find a way to survive a physical game, then what really makes all of you think that we can win the Cup? Our goaltending was not the best but man Philly walked right over us. I feel bad for Joey because here he is trying to survive against Forsberg and other great players. If one person deserves a kudos for effort its Joey. Everyone else was just horrible.

I like Joey. Smart move. Sure it hurt, but man that was a crazy gamble. Props
