In other news, the Sedins are making the Flames look like a Peewee team.
-
Coyotes 1 Sharks 1 12:00 left in the 2nd. It doesn't directly impact us, but if San Jose loses, Chicago clinches the west and thus giving them nothing to play for tomorrow against us. Edit: I jinxed it. 2-1 San Jose
-
Your main point is still true though, travel is going to be rough.
-
I believe it's actually farther to San Jose, CA than it is to Vancouver, BC.
-
Shootout.... Come on Conks, hold strong.
-
St. Louis and Nashville 0-0 after 1.
-
Thank you Oil
-
You've got to be kidding me. 3-3.
-
3-1... Brown scored.
-
Shots are 39-13 in favor of L.A. yet Edmonton is winning 2-0. Scary.

I was looking over the standings of past years and realized that the #4 seed has finished with more points than #3 seed in every season except the 08-09 Eastern Conference standings. 08-09 Team Points Bruins 116 Capitals108 Devils 106 Penguins 99 Team Points Sharks 117 Wings 112 Canucks 100 Hawks 104 07-08 Team Points Canadiens 104 Penguins 102 Capitals 94 Devils 99 Team Points Wings 115 Sharks 108 Wild 98 Ducks 102 06-07 Team Points Sabres 113 Devils 107 Thrashers 97 Senators 105 Team Points Wings 113 Ducks 110 Canucks 105 Predators110 05-06 Team Points Senators 113 Hurricanes 112 Devils 101 Sabres 110 Team Points Wings 124 Stars 112 Flames 103 Predators 106 And it could very well happen again this year: 09-10 Team Points Games Played Capitals 120 81 Devils 99 80 Sabres 98 80 Penguins 99 80 Team Points Games Played Sharks 111 81 Hawks 109 80 Canucks 101 81 Coyotes 106 81 So that begs the question, should the NHL change the automatic top 3 seeds for the conference winners? Personally, I think that they should have the top 4 in order of most points, with the conference winners getting an automatic top 4 seed.

Blackhawks officially eliminated as first round opponent

The Canucks and Kings are in two separate divisions, so no, Chicago still cannot be our first round opponent. Edit: Explanation -

There is no way they would "rest" Mitchell for two months. -
Just so everyone knows, this game is on Versus. It's 4-3 Rangers now.

I'm not quite sure what you're trying to say... Tied in points with us having an extra game to play gives us the advantage, all we'd have to do is get to overtime.
-
Only because they've played 1 more game than us. After the season, wins is the first tiebreaker. We hold no tiebreaker on any team, including Colorado.
-
If the season ended today, Detroit would be 7th because they don't have as many wins as the other two. But, like you said, the Preds have played 1 more game than we have, so we'll be in 6th for tonight. We'll have to take care of our own business and would still need some help from LA if we want the 5th seed.
-
Aucoin comes through again. Phoenix wins.
-
Shootout. Doughty had a great opportunity in the final minute of OT there.
-
Overtime Doesn't help much, LA moves into 5th tonight even if they don't win in OT because of the tiebreakers.
-
Coyotes score.... 2-1 Edit: Is it just me or do both these teams look slow, especially Phoenix? Edit2: 'Yotes score again. 2-2
-
2-0 Kings. Hopefully the 'yotes can break this shutout

Here's the Link for anyone interested.
