With the cap at 56.8, it gives the Wings a better chance to sign Hossa. All the talk was the cap was going down. So how does this make signing Hossa impossible?

The Fedorov deal was confirmed today. http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=282841

I knew you'd be here soon

Well, I have no real preference, but it seems Babcock would rather play Kopecky then Downey. I wouldn't mind seeing Downey at all. I just overlooked Downey more than anything.

1. Try to re-sign Sammy for 1.9 (Even though he would make much more on the open market) 2. Attempt to bring back Bertuzzi for 1.4 3. Kopecky re-signs for 500K 4. Re-sign Leino for 900K Salary comes to a total $4.7 Million Datsyuk-Zetterberg-Holmstrom Cleary-Filppula-Franzen Leino-Helm-Sammuelson Maltby-Draper-Bertuzzi Kopecky Lidstrom-Rafalski Stuart-Kronwall Lebda-Ericcson Meech Edit: Line-up

Players I would like a possibility of coming to Detroit

Hossa is the most hated 40 goal scorer in the league. Seriously, I just stopped after the first sentance because it was so ridiculous. -
They won't get a 2nd or 3rd out of Homer. Injured or not, his production the last few months probably has scared off any takers. Not that he's not valuable anymore, but at his salary, and at his age, and at his production, I don't forsee any takers.
-
Yeah, I remember reading that in another thread. It's definetly a good deal, especially in the future. But I just can't see it happening.
-
Nick Lidstrom's salary is 7.45;)
-
June 26th, which is Friday. Then rounds 2-7 are on Saturday.
-
You can argue his numbers all you want, and you're right he has no linemates of significance, but he is not worth 4 million. Which would mean he has to take a pay cut. I'm not saying it would be a bad move for the Coyotes, but you know as well as I, the Yotes will be just over the cap floor. They have plenty of cap space but do you really think, in their current management situation, that they would target a 39 year old player? I don't.
-
Yeah, I think it was just a rumor, but it may come to fruition considering he will have to take a pay cut in Washington and I doubt he'll get much interest around the league.
-
10 million would be greatly appreciated, that's for sure
-
I don't know, I guess just because he isn't overly abundent with skill people think he is a liability. But his plus-minus is zero as a Red Wing.
-
If a GM throws a big offer sheet at Hudler that would be outstanding. Getting a 1st and a 3rd for Hudler? Yes please. And no we only have a couple million in cap space.
-
Agreed.
-
Actually, I would say odds are Beauchemin wont be back with the Ducks, and he'll go to Montreal.
-
Oh there's no doubt Ottawa could use a puck moving defensemen like Cambell, that's exactly what they need, but he has an atrocious contract. If they aren't worried about cap space then go ahead and make that deal if you're the Sens. Still, I don't think Ottawa wants anything to do with Cambell, because of his contract.
-
They re-signed Backstrom to a 6 million dollar deal that kicks in this coming year, they will have to re-sign Koivu and Miettinen in a couple years, and Brent Burns the year after that. It will be difficult putting Heatly on their roster in the coming years without Gaborik, let alone with Gaborik.
-
What about when Steve Yzerman makes this decision?
wingsdiehard13 replied to Coolio Mendez's topic in General
I agree with the majority, it will be Iginla. I think Niedermayer could get consideration as well. -
Gaborik probably won't be back in Minnesota and if he is they would trade for Heatley because they have plenty of pay raises to dish out in the coming years.
-
If Hudler signed an offer sheet we would get the picks for next year. We could trade Hudler's rights and our own 1st to move up in the draft but a deal would probably have to be in place for Hudler with the team we trade up to. Darren Haydar signed a 1 year deal, even if he does come back he will probably never become an NHL forward. Edit:Clarity

Trading Cambell's awful contract for Heatley is wishful thinking for the 'Hawks. I don't see the Sens making that deal.

The only thing that gives me any comfort...

This is the most ridiculous list I have ever seen. You can't honestly believe this can you?
