No. A 2nd round pick is too much for the rights to almost any player.
-
San Jose acquires Brent Burns.
-
Who in our farm system is worth the same as Schenn or the 8th overall draft pick? No one. Come on guys.
-
Filppula has a $3 million cap hit, shedding cap is the main reason both these deals happened. Tatar<<Schenn. Sorry to burst your bubble.
-
Salo would be alright, but only if another quality defenseman was signed. Salo is a 5/6 guy, and, as others have said, very fragile.
-
Either way you cut it there is still plenty of cap space. Jovo isn't worth more than 3 million.
-
I get what you're saying now. At 36 he probably won't be worth 7 million.
-
You wouldn't pay a 31 year old, who has averaged nearly a point per game throughout his career (including 168 points the last two seasons) $7 million a year?
-
And do what with the remaining ~8 million in cap space?
-
There is a very, very slim chance that Richards signs here. That being said, there is absolutely no chance Shea Weber will be a Red Wing. If you don't understand why, refer to the post Datsyerberger made last week.

One of the strangest goals I've ever seen, let alone a double overtime, conference winning goal.
-
Doubt it. He signed a 5 year extension last summer if I recall correctly. I don't have a link readily availible, I'm on my phone.

Yes, because Babcock is paid to be sentimental. Who would he scratch? Modano doesn't bring anything more than the current line-up. He can fly, sure, but Babcock is going to but the guys who give us the best chance to win.

How great was Rinne.... Wow.
-
Francois Allaire is Toronto's goalie coach. Allaire was the goaltending coach for the Ducks when Bryzgalov was there, and it's been said that those two don't get along. So I doubt he will be teaming up with him anytime soon. Personally I think he's headed to Russia.

Anyone else catch that set-up and shot by Purcell? Wow. Stamkos scores. 2-0 Tampa Bay after 1.
-
Keith Jones picked Nashville to make the Finals last night on Versus.... That said, the Ducks are on fire, Nashville is a better team. Ducks in 7. We'll see.
-
By rules a team can only move up 4 spots, so even though the Devils won the lottery they pick 4th.
-
That would completely eliminate parity which is something that the league has fallen in love with. Even though your idea would be great for teams like the Wings, it's just not going to happen. It would make things interesting though.
-
All I said was that "if you win the lottery you should pick 1st." I just don't think having a 3.6% to get the first pick will promote tanking. If there is going to be a lottery then every team in the lottery should have a chance at first instead of moving up only four spots. The Devils had a 3.6% chance of winning. It's not going to happen very often. The Oilers are going to end up like the Penguins, complied of top picks. Is that really how a team should be built? It doesn't take a whole lot of talent to select near can't miss prospects.
-
I'm not entirely sure what you mean. Are you in favor of teams tanking? Or am I misinterpreting?
-
It's a dumb rule. If you win the lottery you should pick 1st. The worst teams still have an overwhelming chance to pick higher.
-
It's not as big of a deal as you're making it. They're not going to play, just here to get some experience in the atmosphere. Is it a lot of bodies? Yes, but what's it going to hurt?

Fraser and a couple others will be working for the Wings throughout the playoffs. Edited with link

Wings/Yotes Schedule begins Wednesday
wingsdiehard13 replied to HockeytownRules19's topic in General
Doc also said that NBC will start their coverage with Phoenix and Detroit next Saturday. Meaning Game 1 would be on Thursday. Edit: I'm wrong... We do play on Saturday, but start on Wednesday. I like it.
