Or Markov....He really looked bad..
-
Well, they came back...now finish them off..Stay out of the box, and play sound defense. Go Wings!!!
-
Well, Thanks to a bad turnover, Danny Markov, and some poor refs, we suck tonight. I knew this was gonna happen. Everyone read too much into Pronger being out. Well, if we continue to play bad tonight...this is a huge momentum boost for Anaheim comming into Detroit. ahh s***. I think they can pull it off..but will they?
-
Wierd Feeling about this one. Even though we have the advantage on the ice and the series....this one could get away from us. And If we lose this one, it'll be bad because they'll gain even more momentum getting Pronger back..then the series could be in danger for us. But, they shouldn't view the Ducks as being weeker now that Pronger is gone. They should come out as if they are playing for the Stanley cup in overtime of game 7. They can do this, it's our year. Red Wings - 4 Anahiem - 1 Datsyuk, Holmstrom, Lidstrom Kopecky Perry Go Wings!!!
-
Look at the creative editing TSN made.. The real quote is " "I had two guys on me and fell into the boards, and then I got hit. I never saw the guys come from behind." Did they edit that little part to make it sound like it wasn't as bad of a hit as it really was? Pronger should be out for a game. If not, then it shows the league doesn't care about Detroit...Langow incident ..... I bet they'll give him a fine. And that will do absolutely nothing for someone who makes millions.
-
There is no proof Calder has a broken hand. And I've been on the Kopecky train for a while now. He can't do any worse than Calder has...and he's got size and can't throw his weight around.
-
For Size and physical play I wouldn't mind. But, I think Meech will get the next opportunity. The chemistry didn't work, no. He was out of his element playing here. But, we are forgetting he's a defensman who was playing 4th line forward. Was anyone expecting him to light it up?
-
Jim Howard. I'm sick of hearing "He's not ready..another year." How can one tell if he's ready without experience? Let him play, if Dom is gone. Split the games between Osgood and Howard. If Howard if failing, try out Liv. We don't need to buy a goalie when we already have them. What we need to do is boost our blueline this offseason. We need one big tough guy on D. I don't know who is out there, but thats what we need the most. Second, some bigger, meaner forwards.

I was thinking, what if Kronwall never got hurt? - Lilja wouldn't be our most consistent defenseman. - Quincey would have never seen the ice. As horrible as it sounds, do you think we've sort of benefitted from losing Kronwall? Would we still be in the same position/series if he was still in the lineup? Now don't get me wrong, I think Kronwall is a great young talent..but it's just the normal "What If.." question. I would like to see what everyone else thinks.
-
Ok then..Talk about Sammy, Hank?
-
GodDamn, don't we read other threads before creating a new one? Bertuzzi is fine. Leave him alone. He's hurt..Zetterberg is producing about as much as Bertuzzi..why single him out?
-
I don't think their falling apart. Yes, I think Ron Wilson is an idiot. The Sharks are a good team. They have too many good players to be bruised mentally by their coach. If those players don't perform..it's due to the individual not performing..or because the Wings are shutting them down. The coach can rag on a player all he wants..but, it's the player who puts the skates on and plays. They arent falling apart. Their just getting beat at their own game...as did the Wings in games 1 and 3. If your going to be called a star player, you've got to perform..and fight through all the surrounding things the can get you tied up and not perform. The coach tells you where and how to play..It's your duty to play.
-
Either Zetterberg...or Maltby. Zetterberg because he's overdue for a domination. Maltby to prove his critics wrong..and show he can still score, and play physical. P.S. I believe if their going to win, they must play as a team.
-
Holland didn't get Bertuzzi to be a star player. He's not supposed to score every goal for us, hit everything that moves, and play as reckless as nothing happened in the past. He's comming off of back surgery..and the back is one of the hardest places to heal. Bertuzzi is playing fine. He is throwing his body around, when most go to hit them, they fall to the ice. His hands are still very good. Leave him alone. Rag on someone else, like Sammy, or Zetterberg...

Yeah, the Griffs just got the boot from the playoffs. Their just getting a taste of the real playoffs...

2-1 Calgary ... :nonono:
-
Mike Babcock was brought in to change the style of play..make Detroit a tougher team to play against. Well, it's the same unsuccessful ***** hockey for the 5 years. Dave Lewis actully got us to the second round. In all fairness to Babcock ******* up the roster, the lines, putting Lang on the ice, the rest of the team has to play better. Filppula and Franzen are playing great. Why don't the get rewarded and take away some time from our star player Robert Lang. How many times have we heard "The second line needs to get going" Well, it's not going..it hasn't gone. It never will go. So to get Lang going, Bertuzzi and Franzen are put on his line. Well, they score..Lang still plays s***ty. Zetterberg, Lidstrom.. wow.. Great Leadership.
-
Wait, There are 2 teams on the ice? ...Oh wait..I'm confuzed to who's on the ice. Is it Detroit playing the Refs or Calgary? As bad as the Wings are playing..the refs are atrocious. Our special teams is so bad it's almost funny. Our blueline shots..Calgary scores from down low..occasionally shooting from the point. We rely only on the shot from Schneider or Lidstrom to go in..no one else shoots. It's rediculously obvious to whats wrong with the powerplay... Then, the P-Kill. Every other team in the NHL is always on the puck carrier..constant pressure causing mistakes. The Wings give way too much of a cushion, allowing Calgary to set up and shoot non-stop. This is rediculous.

Wings: 5 Flames: 3 Datsyuk, Bertuzzi, Zetterberg, Lebda, Franzen Stuart, Giardano, Iginla
-
The second goal, He completely missed the pass from Lidstrom..which directly led to the goal. EDIT: Your right about Iginla's goal. I just watched a replay of it..I didn't see any of the replay's last night. He was grabbed....and why the hell wasn't there a call!? And actully, if you watch right before Cleary drills Phaneuf, He does turn the puck over...So, you can partially blame him for the goal...he gave the Wings the puck.
-
Injuries aside, Henrik Zetterberg played his worst game as a Detroit Red Wing. He was to blame for Calgary's second goal, and half to blame on Iginla's goal. (The other half going to Hasek) Cleary, Draper, Maltby, and Datsyuk...and Lilja.. were the only ones that played good. When did Datsyuk learn how to hit?...because I really like it. Robert Lang needs to go...

If I recall, a couple of days ago in the Free Press, He stated the visor is here to stay...For the rest of his career... Why is wearing a visor a problem?

PRE-GAME 3: (4/17) Red Wings @ Flames - 10:00 PM EDT
CMatt89 replied to aflac9262's topic in General
I don't feel overly confident in this one like I did for 1 and 2. Calgary isn't an away team..they are unstoppable at home though. I think It'll be a tough one..a real close one. Kipper will steal the show again, and I think his team will help him out.... But since I could never predict the Wings to Lose to the Flames...I'm gonna say 2-1 Wings. Zetterberg, Lang Iginla Go Wings. -
Red Wings:3 Flames:2 (OT) Red Wings: Zetterberg, Draper, Lidstrom Flames: Phaneuf, Huselius GO Wings!
