Cleary in, Tatar out against Caps

Holland and Babcock should be apologizing to the fans, also to Zetterberg and Datsyuk. Hopefully we wont trade away our middle of the pack draft pick this year for an extra second round pick like we do every year. I've also noticed that Babcock wants to play a certain way. A way that a lot of the league is playing, and playing successful. The only difference is that he's continuously provided the wrong types of players to the point where it almost seems like he's handcuffed and obliged to play these incompetent players. His overly optimistic attitude and unwarranted praise for low end players seems a little bit fishy to me. I'm glad he's not Tortorella, but I also feel like there's a loaded gun being pointed at him every time he wants to say whats really on his mind. I'd love to play for Babcock, maybe not so much Ken Holland and the Illitch maf..........ya get where I'm going with this. If we make the playoffs, we'll see Nyquist. I just hope the general fan super savior pressure that is expected doesn't turn him into public enemy number 1 when he doesn't perform. (which I hope he does)

Cleary in, Tatar out against Caps

From a realistic standpoint, Tatar wont get his full season in til quite possibly next season. Thus, paving the way for Nyquist to not get his full season until the 2016-17 season (scary). We should trade all of our draft picks and prospects. They're like pennies. Collect them forever, until that day you're absolutely broke but still don't want to crack open that stupid coke bottle coin catcher that collects as much dust as it does pennies in the basement even if coinstar charges 10% to ever dollar. 9 dollars to every 10 is still better than the old ass Canadian quarter that is never accepted at the register.

    Lines Thread

Its pretty interesting watching a team of players who's majority is still learning how to play rather than Wings of the past where the entire team already knew how to play. It makes Holland, Babcock, and everyone else involved look much more accomplished when you focus on the small victories rather than judging a team by win and losses. Of course they're keeping the veterans around because they know how to play. Part of the reason why they still continue to be an above average team. In other cultures the "elders" are viewed upon with the utmost respect. Here in America we're quick to throw away old for new with large expectation. The Red Wings have a culture of their own. Most everyone who leaves the organization has found a level of success, and if not yet they are set up for it and on the right path. History speaks for itself. So many forwards for a reason. Proper development now, success later with due diligence.

    Franzen believes he’s playing well.

He did have some head injuries too earlier in his career. Now days we're learning more and more just how fragile the brain is and how much of an impact even small blows to the head can be. Someone posted above something of anxiety. The prescription pills they assign to people with anxiety now days, they make you relaxed, somewhat disinterested or cautious.. ala "Franzen is lazy and he sucks"
  6. Franzen needs better linemates...Considering Cleary will ALWAYS and FOREVER clog up the top six wing spot. Franzen - Helm - Tatar

    Tootoo Waived

To be quite literal, the people are getting this through their heads. It's not staying in their heads, which is the real source of your disgust.

    A story about Chelios

Where can I find this? Please and thank you.

Customer is always right? Right? Well, the paying customers want Sammy, Cleary and Eaves off the menu. Customer is always right? Right?

Nyquist taking things in stride, with class

Remember Helm and Abdelkader? They got their shot in the playoffs. I highly doubt come seasons end that Gus will be in GR. Use up the old men for the first half till they croak...then call up the reinforcements just in time to gel and hit the hot streak going into the playoffs. To be honest, not a bad strategy. Especially in this streaky NHL we have now days.

The most annoying things about being at games?

If the worst part of going to a hockey game, is the people around you, then maybe it's YOU who shouldn't be attending games. The extreme lack of compassion for the uneducated mass of people is just about as bad as the fact that the mass of people are in a prescription pill alcohol induced zombie uneducated coma. You have a few options, become the President and reform education and healthcare so that everyone growing up isn't a complete zombie brain, watch the game from home, or get a damn suite.

Would you want Moulson on the Wings?

We in fact, have too many players. In getting rid of Tootoo, Eaves, and Sammy, we still have an excess, if you include the trusted services of Glendening and Emmerton. Room needs to be made for Nyquist, Tatar (fulltime) and potentially Helm. Not Moulson.

Why Do They Trust The Youngsters?

That's the issue, living too vicariously through these athletes. Remember they are real people too. Misplaced emotion, too much Red not enough White. What I'm getting at is, the Red Wings organization has a very clear strategy. Why are we gathering up negative and scattered thoughts because we disagree with who is playing? We as fans should be coming together to UNCONDITIONALLY support and motivate the team we love. That's our role as fans. We aren't the gm, the coach, or the players. We are the supporters. The followers. The fans. Video games and fantasy sports are not the real thing, so why are we taking our fantasy and video game mentalities and forcing them on, and corrupting our views of the real thing? The critic critiques, the fans support. Its one thing to show concern, but really, it's none of our concern.. Seems like the more uneducated the fans get about the sport, the more they buy into the s*** that doesn't matter.

Why Do They Trust The Youngsters?

The way I feel is, we all as humans have way too much to think about as it is. Everyday stress of life is the heaviest weight we can endure. Let the coaches coach, and the players play. Enjoy the sport. Pick up an xbox or PS3 if you want to be the coach, GM, and players. As a fan, I think we've all lost our vision. People fighting in the stands, uneducated fans lusting for the violence in the sport, sports radio creating unnecessary drama, and every single fan believing that they have the correct formula for success and everyone else is wrong. This is not a social sport, goals aren't scored on twitter or LGW. The spectacle that has evolved from physical sport has single handedly bloated the egos and imaginations of the people that buy into it. Who cares who suits up, they're all Red Wings. If we never win again, that's okay too, appreciate it for what it is; hockey, a sport. You mention all of these GM's and coaches that started in the Wings organization, now moved on to be in charge. They're young coaches and gm's making young decisions. When they start winning cups..... when. Why should Ken Holland take chances on players that haven't played? Now they're going to work even more hard (if they have they right attitude) to make it and the payoff will be much higher for everyone thats emotionally attached. Low risk, high reward.

    Brendan Smith

Learn to love it. Brendan Smith is a Red Wing. Lower the expectation to the point where you can just simply enjoy watching him play. He's good, and he's learning how to play the hard way. Which only will help him in the long run. If the general opinions of fans towards a player is negative, that leaks all the way down through the media, coaching staff, teammates, and even the player. Accept him for who he is, a Red Wing. If everyone loved Smith for just being being a Wing, that positive energy from the fans will leak all the way down to the player. Thus, having a positive impact on his play, leaving every one fully satisfied in the end. Go Wings.

10/4 GDT : Red Wings 3 at Hurricanes 2 (OT)

Things I've noticed so far... Nyquist and Tatar need to be in the lineup. Cleary can stay, as long as Bert and Sammy are not in the regular rotation. Add a healthy back on track Helm, and we have ourselves a top tier team. I would use either Tatar or Nyquist on the second line, dropping Franzen to the 3rd. It'll give him more space and opportunity to float, and do what he does. Adding Tatar and Nyquist would give us 2a and 2b in terms of a second line. It was pretty obvious that our 2nd PP unit, our inability to get the puck out of our zone and make that first pass, as well as our super slow, ineffective 3rd and 4th lines, are what is holding this team back from really excelling and impressing. Props to Datsyuk, Zetterberg, Abby and Alfredsson. Those guys really stood out to me. In 2-4 years experience time, we undoubtedly will have the best d-corps in the league.

    The Dreger Report

I would like to see Rafalski exit Detroit..but NTC and lack of Powerplay replacement says he wont go anywhere, which is a bummer because he's not very solid defensively anymore at 5 mil.. Lidstrom, Kronwall, Rafalski, Stuart, Ericsson, Salei, Kindl.. I can think of four reasons why the defense is playing like s***... 1. Rafalski 2. Ericsson 3. Kindl 4. Defensive coach... Players dont seem to be developing once they get to the big club (Ericsson, Kindl) .. ever since they hired him, the defenseman seem to be lost at times.. I'm not for a shakeup... but i think some big changes need to be made. Not necessarily now, but come offseason.. i think it'd be wise to make some changes.. But, i'm just a fan..

Take this for what its worth

im sure there isnt much to read into. Scouts are scouts...they scout. I'd be more worried if there was no scouts attending other teams games, because then they wouldnt be doing there job...which is scouting.

    Datsyuk is back

glad to hear he wasnt rushed back. Babcock said in postgame that Pavs was cleared to play a while ago, but needed time to get back into normal Datsyuk mode. Not those exact words, but you get it.

    NHL ASG Entertainment to Suck

I'm confused to this whole guardian thing..whats the point?
  21. Best news in a few days. Hopefully Kenny doesn't think of anymore ways to piss of the number 1 and 2 goalies. Maybe he did it to spark a fire under Jimmy's ass to step up while knowing the whole time Nabokov would get picked up elsewhere...whatever reasoning is behind this.. not a good way to show confidence in your starter.
  22. CMatt89

    Wings Negotiating w/ Nabokov

Theres gotta be more to this. With Modano progressing, soon we'll have a full roster again. Miller, Draper, Eaves and Abdelkader are all once again fighting for a spot. I think Helm, and Eaves are shoe-ins.. maybe with Miller's productivity of late, Holland has other plans for him. Trade Miller, Kindl and someone else for A defensman and Nabokov (assuming he will be claimed by another team). Or maybe the Wings are going to sign and trade? I think theres something stirring up, and it goes beyond just signing Nabokov.
  23. also, Like the previous All-Star game with Dats and Lids.... They do not want to be suspended if opting out after they've already been picked. With all the injuries of late, Z has been worked harder then planned..So Ken Holland took action way before hand, so that Z can get some rest time for his back on a lighter note, I think Zetterberg should use a longer stick, he uses such a tiny stick..no wonder he has back problems
  24. CMatt89

    Osgood Out 6-8 Weeks

I have a feeling its season ending, or indefinite to how long he will be out and he's had this injury since the for a while now, maybe they held out until he got his 400th win...Now hes done for the regular season, gonnna come back, ride the pine for the playoffs, i think he's played his last game ever..
  25. CMatt89

    How about these lines?

    Hudler-Zetterberg-Cleary Filpula-Datsyuk-Bertuzzi Bertuzzi-Modano-Abdelkader Holmstrom-Helm-Eaves Lidstrom-Ericsson Kronwall-Salei Stuart-Rafalski Trade Franzen. (too streaky, 6'2 plays like 5'10) High Risk/High Reward trade. Get a solid YOUNG dman.
