I have some issues with a few of the things in that article, but they did a good job of trying to make it seem clear cut. It doesn't matter, though, because there is no point in debating this. We will know who is going to the BCS by the end of the day Though, I'd wager it will be Florida. We will have the chance to play USC in the Rose Bowl, which isn't a bad consolation prize. Would rather play USC instead of LSU anyway.

I'm pretty sure they were both conference champions and that the BCS wasn't implemented yet. My memory is hazy, though. If that's the case, I'd say it was a bit different. OSU is the Big 10 champion, they already beat us and shouldn't have to again. We'll probably drop to #3 (assuming one of the contenders wins out) and play in the Rose bowl.

Yes, but it would also feel like a pretty empty victory. Could we really call ourselves national champions if it was a 1-1 split? That would mean that OSU was required to beat UM twice to win and be declared national champions, while UM only had to do it once. It wouldn't be fair to OSU, we might as well share the title in that scenario...which will not and should not happen. I know the comment is made all in fun, but let's wait for the polls in a couple weeks. I'm personally dreading the potential rematch, it could be the final push to institute a playoff. As someone already mentioned, I doubt the regular season matchup between UM and OSU would ever be the same if they were looking ahead to the second season.

If USC, Florida, and Arkansas all went down, I don't think you could keep Michigan out. As much as I don't want a rematch, it just wouldn't make sense sending Notre Dame over Michigan, who had a tougher schedule and destroyed them in South Bend. I really don't want this scenario to play out, because regardless of the team that is sent, there will be controsoversy. Best case scenario: USC beats Notre Dame and goes to the championship.

As a Michigan fan, I want no rematch. They outplayed us and deserve another opponent. The Wolverines had their chances and they let it slip away. The two long rushing TDs hurt a lot and the helmet-to-helmet at the end was huge. Plenty of mistakes by both sides, but the UM defense was the biggest let down. Great play calling for the Bucks, though. Congratulations on the Heisman and trip to AZ. This was the national championship as far as I'm concerned, these are without a doubt the best two teams in the country. Never thought I'd be so disapointed to go to the Rose bowl.

Does anyone actually understand the computer rankings? The computer places Michigan at #1, Rutgers at #2, and Ohio State at #3. I know it has been ranking UM over OSU (hey, I'm not complaining!) but Rutgers is rather odd. Of course, with the polls included it bumps Rutgers down to #6 in the BCS. Is it Saturday yet?

I thought Michigan was ranked #4 and Ohio State #1, though both were undefeated. I was pretty sure they have never met when both were undefeated AND ranked #1 and #2.
