Not a chance in hell the Wings trade Filpulla for Havelid, if thats what it takes then it wont happen. Im guessing they can get him for a late pick.

I agree we need size but i wouldnt say were loaded on defense. One injury around playoff time to a D-man and we might be in some trouble.

Havelid has very respectable numbers considering the team hes playing for,he would be a very good fit,kills penalties and blocks shots very well.

Who cares what Havelid does next year,we only need him for this year. I dont think the Wings are deep enough with prospects to trade Filppula for a rental goaltender who will be too expensive to sign. I think you can put it in the bank that Havelid comes here for a late pick.

I pretty sure Drake meant Tavares was a pure goal scorer which he absolutely is. You obviously havent watched him play at all because he isnt known by anyone as a playmaker.

I disagree at least on Weinhandl who has played plenty of games on small ice. Both played for Sweden at the last World Championships.

I would assume that Mattias Weinhandl and Tony Martensson would be on the team,theyre both playing in the Russian Super League and finished 1-2 in scoring in the Swedish league last year.

I have actually asked this question myself and the general belief is that the Wings can put Homer on LTIR at any point retroactive to the date he was hurt. My best guess is they dont need to yet but may have to when Stuart gets back.

I like the logic of this post, few things to add: 1. You could add Brad Stuarts name to the list of Wings potential trade bait. 2. Neither Stuart,Kronwall or Filppula have no trade clauses.

The Wings dont necessarily need a top 5 goalie with the system they play. They just need someone to stop the ones theyre supposed to and make the occasional big save. With the cap the way it is and where its likely going they cant afford one anyway,unless they say goodbye to Hossa.

Once again we seem to have the issue of verbally assaulting people who give their opinion on this site. I happen to agree that Franzen is more valuable but the argument can certainly be made that Filpulla who is 5 years younger and gets very little PP time could end up being better and more valuable. Please be mature in your responses.

I guess the Wings can keep Stuart on LTIR after Sunday,otherwise they would have to send Helm amd Leino back down. I wonder why they havent put Homer on it yet?
