Try watching a Blue Jackets game on FSN Ohio, youll appreciate Ken and Mickey. Side note, Mickey is part of an interesting Red Wings trivia question.Mickey Redmond and Steve Yzerman are the only Red Wings in history with back to back 50 goal seasons (Stevie actually had back to back 60 goal seasons).

Due to having 3 Panthers on my fantasy team I have found myself watching a lot of Florida games this year. Bouwmeester seems to have taken a step back this year from last, way too many bone head plays. I havent seen Green play enough to pass judgement but his numbers look pretty damn good.

Someone photo shop an ANTI Panic Button.
-
Its not the worst idea i've seen but i would prefer the wings dump some salary in a trade.
-
Yea I should clarify. The Wings cant afford Kaberle if they want to keep Hossa.
-
Agreed,Kronner is one of a few Wings who need to step it up. My thought process on Nick Lidstroms contract is interesting...My first thought is well at least after next year we wont have Nick's 7M contract to worry about then I think "Holy F%$# we might not have Nick!!"
-
I see youre thinking but Kaberle for Kronwall actually costs us a million. How about Kaberle for Rafalski? Not gonna happen....
-
We cant afford Kaberle even at 4m,plus he has a no trade clause.
-
I think Neil would be a good fit here, a fighter who can actually play a little. Not sure what his value is though.
-
I can only think of two possible reason for this: 1. The Red Wings organization is better at evaluating talent than we are and feel Kopecky deserves a spot on the team. I know this is very difficult to understand but I'm only throwing it out as a possibility. 2. Kopecky is in the possesion of some compromising photos of Mike Babcock and/or Ken Holland.

How exactly did I prove it? Some people here need to read the forum rules. · DON'T personally attack other members. This includes name-calling, flame-baiting, etc.. If you can't discuss your point with maturity then don't discuss it. People that violate this rule will be dealt with swiftly.

why can't the NHL have a salary cap like baseball?
up2here replied to FLWINGSFAN4013's topic in General
I think the cap works for now. I was tired of people saying the Wings won because they had the highest payroll. -
Dont insult my hockey knowledge becaused your opinion differs from mine, thats childish and immature. Also i am aware none of those players are quite as good as Hudler but if it means keeping Hossa then I'll take the 10-15 less points they score than Huds and keep one of the 10 best players in the entire league. As for Hudlers points if were playing on the one of top 2 lines,he has had many chances to play on those top lines and has ended up back on the third line every time. He is too small to match up against the rest of the leagues top 2 lines in my opinion.
-
Thank You! If you look back in the thread I have said his name twice!
-
Thats 3 people who picked Cogliano, yet I'll say again..Eric Cole beat him in the Oilers skills competition, beat him badly.
-
Your opinion differs from mine and if you dont understand that than this is over your head. Ive been watching and playing hockey longer than youve been alive im sure. My hockey pants are probably older than you.
-
Val Filppula and your beloved Jiri Hudler were both "AHL" players along with a long line of NHL superstars. Dont knock a guy because he plays there.
-
Bure was a rocket but I'm telling you.. Russ Courtnall in the mid to late 80's and early 90's. Russ didnt have the best hands but his speed was UNREAL and he backed defensemen off so bad he would end up putting up some points.
-
Im thinking about starting a "Fire Holland" thread....
-
I have my panic button ready!!
-
I think youre over valuing Hudler and perhaps I'm valuing him too low. I still go with Hossa make due with what we have along with maybe a free agent and hope we hit on another stud in the draft.
-
I am well aware of our cap situation so please dont talk to me like I'm an idiot,Ive been a Wings fan a long time. I also think Hudler is a 3rd liner but heres a list of upcoming UFA's who would all likely want less than Hudlers expected 3 - 3.5 mil: Petr Sykora Brendan Morrison Jason Williams Ales Kotalik Richard Zednik Doug Weight Sergei Fedorov Viktor Kozlov Im also sure thats not all of them because I just quickly scanned the numbers. Anyone of those players on a one year contract could put up numbers good enough to replace Hudler if it means keeeping Hossa.
-
Dont forget they could add someone via free agency that makes less than Hudler that would get his point total or close to it.
-
You seem very sure, but if youre wrong these words will be thrown in your face here. Be ready.
