Is E_S_A_D really Don Cherry? I sense a hockey knowledge that applied 20 years ago. Someone remind me which "not tough enough" ,"not well rounded enough", "plays in a weak division", "too old" team won the Stanley Cup 5 months ago?

I agree. Phaneuf gets all the publicity because of the big hits but Weber is better all around in my opinion.

1. Joe Sakic- Classy,productive, reminds me of Stevie Y. 2. Shea Weber- Will be the best defensemen in the NHL when Nick retires. 3. Alexander Ovechkin- Love his desire. 4. Eric Staal- Big,fast and consistantly productive. 5. Marian Gaborik- Just plain fun to watch.

Brett Lebda is clearly the best defenseman to have ever lived.

One name you should add is Bryan Fogarty.Quebec picked him ahead of Joe Sakic and he drank his career away. If I remember right he was even John Kordics roommate.

I agree Lilja has been fine this season. I have never had an issue with Lilja as a 5th or 6th D-man and for years I have assumed that Lebda would continue to improve and use his speed better. This improvement has not happened or has not happened enough. I firmly beleive this team needs the injection of youth and enthusiasm that adding Ericsson,Helm and Leino to the line-up would provide but I havent hit the panic button yet.
