I think Melrose is right. You get the puck in the slot you shoot,puck could go by him or through him or a rebound could happen. He should have shot and you can bet that Mike Babcock would be livid if a Wing passed in that situation.

I say promise him the spot on the team and then deal with it later if he sucks. We're not exactly loaded with prospects,especially offensive ones. This is a chance to get a good young player without giving anything up.

Does he want to play now or play for the best program.

Im not sure anyone in the league can touch Lombardi or Fedorov,even at Sergei's age he is unbeleivable. Crosby isnt nearly as fast as the top skaters in the league but hes probably in the top 5 when it comes to strength on his skates.

I wouldnt mind the Wings giving him an incentive laden contract,just dont get in a car with him.
