I started a thread a few weeks ago saying he should skip the all-star and I stand by that opinion. It has nothing to do with the hitting or lack there of at the game. It has everything to do with the rest he he can get by not going.

Things I have learned from watching the NHL Network

I have learned that when they show highlights twice within the hour they say the EXACT same things during the second highlights but its NOT a replay. This is especially disturbing when they have to laugh at the same corny joke twice. -
I just dont think Chelie can put in much more than 15 mins per night at this point. Blake in his prime was one of the best hitting defenseman in the world,he picks his spots more now. Hes not a fighter. I agree we could use maybe one more top 6 forward but I keep thinking back to last year when we had those injuries on defense.

I think adding a guy like Blake would keep a combination of Lilja,Chelios and Ledba as our 5th and 6th D-men,minimizing the damage they do and keeping their minutes down. It would also provide experienced depth.

Love to see Cleary locked up and as long as Lilja is paid like a 5th or 6th defenseman I have no problem with that either.

With the Wings being so succesful and drafting so low they generally take the best available player. Would that have been Mike Green? Probably. 2004 was not a particularly deep draft not many big names taken after Green.

No Vezina trophys plus has spent a lot of his career sharing time with another goalie. I love Ozzie but I just cant see it. The only way for me is if he wins another cup or 2 as a starter and gets to 400 wins.

He did play for Babcock in Anaheim so you can be sure the Wings are aware of him but I dont think we bother unless theres an injury.

If by prices you mean ticket prices then for most people the value of the dollar is irrelevant because people that buy tickets are going to buy them in their own currency (Detroit would be an exception as well as Buffalo I suppose) so I'm not sure I understand that.

The salary cap complicates just about every move you suggest not to mention that if the Leafs go in to re-building mode they wont go after 31 year old Wade Redden and 35 year old Aaron Ward.

Im not sure I would go as far as to call it a joke but that being said I'm not a fan either. I dont understand why they dont have bodychecks,its not like theyre playing with men.

Exactly. Lets worry about calling guys up when theres an injury. If we want to see what younger players can do lets cut back the minutes of some our front line players and let some of the younger ones already on the team play more.

I saw that Roberto Luongo was skipping the all-star game and it got me thinkin about Hank's back. Obviously none of us here know the severity of the injury or how he feels now,but it seems to me that he hasnt had the jump that he had earlier.
