  1. Wow.Thanks for posting this.Damien Cox and ESPN should be ashamed for even allowing this to printed.
  2. My guess is that the Wings will offer the indentical contract to Hank that Pavel got.It would be hard to argue who the better player is.

    Harry Connick out

Im not sure how many years Super Joe has left but as long as he wants to play this injury wont be a problem for him.

Big up to the Pain Train

LOL.I'll say it again. I am not comparing Lilja to ANY other Wings defenseman, thats not fair. What I am saying is because he is less talented with the puck than those guys he needs to me more careful. I have no problem with him as our 5th defenseman,4th might be a stretch. I realize he is currently our 4th defenseman and not coincidentally we are shopping for a defenseman.
  6. NHL numbers tells a diffrent story.http://www.nhlnumbers.com/overview.php?team=DET. Im guessing your site just took the average which may in fact be what the NHL goes by,either way hes going to make much more. By the way Nick should NEVER retire.
  7. Zetterberg only makes 2.7 this year and 2.9 next.thats chump change compared to what he will be making very soon. We wont have as much cap space after that is done.Filppula sure looks like a keeper though.

Big up to the Pain Train

lol, like i said it easier to forgive a guy with 30 plus points for that. That being said said Rafalski will draw my ire as well if he makes that mistake a habit.

Big up to the Pain Train

Very true, but Lidstrom,Rafalski and Kronwall are good passers,Lilja is not. This is my point,he needs to be more careful because hes just less skilled than those guys.

Big up to the Pain Train

*sigh*I never said it was ok for anyone to make mistakes. I said that its easier to forgive players who contribute offensively for the OCCASIONAL gaff. As for Chelios and Lidstroms "own" goals they were doing what caoches teach defensemen to do,get their sticks in passing lanes and deflect pucks, they just got unlucky. Thats much different than throwing a puck in front of your own net which is what Lilja did against St Louis. I also never said Lilja sucked, his giveaways simply frustrate me.

Big up to the Pain Train

No actually YOU arent paying attention. I didnt compare him to those guys, someone else said they sometimes give the puck away too. When youre Andreas Lilja you cant give the puck away ,thats the point,he has to be smarter than throwing the puck in front of his own net. People forgive the Lidstroms and the Rafalskis for that because of all the other things they do well. Liljas list of things he does well is much smaller.

Another Great Swede coming to Detroit?

I'll start to get excited when we actually sign him. Another team might be able to offer more playing time.

Big up to the Pain Train

The big difference is the mistakes those guys make are much fewer and farther between not to mention they make up for the occasional gaff with some offense.

Legace Shocks Blues Management with comments

This doesnt surprise me either. Manny is a mental midget.
  19. Saw this on TSN.http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/news_story/?ID=224606&hubname=. I have always been a fan of Stoll going back to his junior days and Torres seems like the kind of forward the Wings need. Stoll could center the second line and Torres provides a physical presence plus neither make too much money.

Odds of detroit making a blockbuster?

The only reason the Wings didnt do more last year was because of cap issues. This year they have 5 mil available, they will spend it on someone.

3 step plan to fix the NHL

It does for me.I can remember seeing Mike Bossy among others come barrelling down the right wing and uncork a blistering slap shot that beats the goalie. That was awesome. Whens the last time you saw that happen?

Another cheap shot from a Flyer

I happened to intercept an internal E-mail from the Flyers organization: Dear Flyer Personnel, Please refrain from doing dumb stuff or we will be fined. Thank You Flyer Management* *Flyer Management does not include Bobby Clarke who wholly endorses this "dumb" brand of hockey and if Valery Kharlamov were alive you could ask him.
