First I love how well laid out your argument is,however there is one flaw.I had to put 2 Soviet players on my list(I debated with Larionov also) and theyre points dont count.

Apparantly Kindl is NHL ready(According to scouts) but usually defensemen take longer to develop than forwards.

Youre feeling is right,this rumour is crap.No way Montreal can take on Langs salary.Gainey has said many times that they have reached their salary ceiling which is why they havent made a play for Dumont.Put this one to bed.

For what its worth I would rather have Leetch than Schneider too but for gods sake not both.If this were to happen I would make Barnes happy by jumping on the "Holland sucks"bandwagon. But heres the real question.Would you trade Kronwall and and a prospect for Marleau?

Bob Gainey has said repeatedly that the team cannot go any higher than their current payroll.They would have to trade someone to sign Dumont.

Dumont is no power forward.That being said though I agree that he is a much better choice than Carter even for more money.I also would rather have Sykora than Carter.

I'm so glad most you arent our GM.Theres a reason Anson Carter has played for 6 teams(going on 7) in his career.He's just a soft as Antropov and softer than Lang.I'll take a pass on both.

Ive seen enough Montreal games to know that this is a very bad idea.If u watch the top 10 goals of the year Souray is getting undressed in 2 of them.Maybe I take him straight up for Lang but NO way do we throw Hudler in there.
