I thought the same thing and yes the brain does block out very painful memories, its for our own good. As a result none of us will remember Jiri Hudler playing a single game this year.

Comparing the NFL to ANY sport is like apples and oranges but I wonder how much only playing 8 home games has to do with the Lions attendance? Would the Lions still sell-out every game if they played 16 home games?

I would think that his size would be an advantage in the NA rink but I guess we'll see.

From Rotoworld: Drew Miller and Patrick Eaves have been rotating games on the fourth line for Detroit, but coach Mike Babcock is considering scratching someone else now. "We'll look at that again," Babcock said. "We've had a two-man rotation with Miller and Eaves (and) they've both played excellent. Maybe it's time to go a little deeper." We'll let you know if anything comes from this. I think Hudler is likely the odd man out but I guess we could be surprised.

The next few weeks will be very telling I think. If this lights a fire under Hudler's ass then great, if not maybe it is time to move him to where he can play everyday and we can get something for him. I hope he turns it around.

Thats true but like I said in an earlier post, its a waste to have a 3M guy riding the pine. Thats why I floated the trade idea out there.

Both NHLnumbers and the link Steve K provided show him as UFA in two years. Thats what im going with as correct.

Detroit Forwards Click the link. Again the site could be wrong but theyve typically been very reliable. Update:NHLnumbers.com shows him as UFA in two years. One of them is wrong.

His value is very low but it seems like a huge waste of 3 million bucks to have him on the bench. Not to mention he's UFA next year.

If it is Hudler then I have to beleive the writing would be on the wall for him to be traded. Does anyone know where the Wings stand against the cap?

In reality this years all star game is mostly based on last years performance with a little on this years. We all know the Stanley Cup hangover can be a ***** and Im sure the Hawks are feeling it.

Now I hate the Blackhawks too but come on. Kane is averaging a point per game and Toews has 18 points in 23 games while playing well defensively. Both deserve at the very least to be playing in the game. Lets not let our hatred blind us.

Hometowns are very important, thats why Modano and Rafalski came to Detroit. That being said, if the guy aint good enough it dont really matter.

If I recall correctly he had some abuse issues as a kid. No doubt its had an effect on him as an adult and as a player.

I usually judge his mood by how angrily he opens his tiny water bottle.

After Stamkos's 5 point night last week I posted on the TSN website that "There doesnt seem to be much defense being played in the East, NO defense is being played in the Southest division and that I doubt Stamkos would have as many points if he played in the other conference". I was flamed hard for it, but I stand by it.

Lets not forget that Cleary was a first round draft pick so he always had talent. Health has been his issue with the Wings.
