We can speculate all day which teams will move but the point is that two Eastern teams need to move west for Detroit to go back east. If Quebec gets a team like Atlanta then they stay in the East and if Kansas City gets the Islanders then its likely Columbus who moves east. It just makes more geographical sense. Edit- It looks like Columbus may only be about 100-200 miles MORE east than Detroit. Seniority may get Detroit East.

I thought about this when Winnipeg was being talked about as far as getting their team back. If they replaced say Atlanta or Tampa Bay then logically a Western team would move east. Theres a problem though, Columbus. They are further East than Detroit is and it would make more sense to move them. I think the Wings are stuck in the west for a while.

Hudler shouldnt have gone and played in that inferior hockey league last year. He looks a step behind to me now, no doubt due the pace being slower over there.

I would say those chances would have to be good. Im too lazy to look up his salary though, that will be a big factor.

So I was reading that Mario was inducted into the order of Canada yesterday and it got me to thinkin about Stevie. I want to take nothing away from Mario because I became a big fan of his later in his career but I dont know if he deserves this honor and if he does then Stevie certainly also deserves to get it. Some fans will remember that Mario refused to play for Canada MANY times in his career and played his entire career in the US. When its all said and done Stevie has more career points, more World Championship and Olympic medals, more Stanley Cups and also managed the team that just won the Gold in Vancouver.

Bottom line is that Stevie has more points and won more Cups than Mario. I'm not saying he's better than Mario offensively but he's in the argument and was much better defensively. Also, anyone who says Yzerman or Lemieux are not among the 15 best players of all time is either insane or an idiot. This was never meant to bash Mario, just to merely point out that I beleive Stevie deserves the Order Of Canada as much if not more.

I wouldnt argue with anyone who said Mario was a better offensive player but even that argument is close. As far as defensive play,face-offs and leadeship thats where it isnt close. Steve was 1000 times better than Mario in those areas.

As much as I want to agree with you I cant. Stevie is a proud Canadian and proud honorary American, I'm sure he would accept the honor with the class in which he's done everything in his career. As long as the Queen doesnt show him "The Big Book Of British Smiles".
