You better hope it defends the crease better than our actual defense did tonight.

Apparently the team that lost the Stanley Cup and many of it's key players in the offseason has a better shot of winning next year than the team that not only won the Stanley Cup, but managed to keep it's roster in tact and add a top scorer to it.

I honestly think he'll do better than any of the other skaters we picked.

Does anyone care about these politicans? Nobody went down to Detroit so they could listen to assholes, they went to see the Detroit Red Wings.
-
FSN's stuff is 1000x better than WDIV's. While Carmen wonders if Gordie Howe ever won a Stanley Cup, Woody Woodruff is asking Cleary about how he felt working for the coach who cut him from the World Juniors.

I enjoyed the whole "33 Years!" stuff that got tossed around after San Jose, Dallas and Philly won some games after going down three games to none.

I didn't think Ozzy would ever be starting goalie material again when he came back after the lockout. He let in a few soft goals in some games and continued to play a bit shaky as the backup. I don't doubt him anymore though. Still don't like Lilja.

Coming back from 2-0 isn't that rare, it usually happens once or twice every few years. I still doubt that the Ducks will win four straight against the Stars though.

I'm not sure about players, but the dude who runs Datsyuk's website posts here occasionally. He even told us a day in advance that Datsyuk's resigning was going to be huge.

******* refs.

My 5th Grade math teacher was hit in the head by a puck (Shot by Federov, I think) back in the mid-90s. She got free season tickets for life and seemed more than happy with that.

I saw him win a fight in a preseason game against the Lightning, which was good compared to Bootland who got his ass kicked in fights.

All of the teams have had their ups and downs in the last few decades. The Pistons and Tigers had almost no fan support in the '90s, neither did the Wings in the '70s. The Lions, however, have tons of fan support because of the popularity of football itself even though they've been terrible for years. The Pistons, Wings and Tigers are all doing great, but the Tigers only recently started winning, while the Pistons and Wings have had successes for a long while, so the Tigers are the more popular team because of the novelty of it all. Baseball is boring though, if the Tigers started losing games, all of the fans would stop caring and the Tigers would be back to where they were. Right Now: Tigers Lions Pistons Wings

It's better than the Blackhawk's slogan of "Failures On Ice"

I'd rather give what's left of our money to Hasek than get Raycroft.

You guys all seem to forget how well the Blues played after they fired their coach last year. They might not do as well as Nashville did last year, but I think they'll make the playoffs. Chicago will improve (obviously) but they still won't make the playoffs, same with Columbus. Nashville might make 8th seed, but I doubt it.
-
$4M a year? I'll gladly take that pick from next year over Bertuzzi
-
Sooo uhhh How much DID Schneider want?
-
Sanford would be a good pick-up for some team. Not us, though.
-
After they fired their coach last year St. Louis really picked up their game, to the point where if they had played like that at the start of the year they would've made the playoffs. That resulted in some pretty interesting match-ups and close games. Who knows, they might replace Nashville as our competition.

1. Chicago wouldn't accept this, they'd want picks or prospects go with Samuelsson and Holland wouldn't give those up. 2. LaPointe has double the salary of Samuelsson, that cap space is valuable. 3. Samuelsson plays physical, not as physical as LaPointe, but Sammy's also a better scorer. 4. A huge number of PIMs (LaPointe) is worse than a forward who's bad defensively (Samuelsson).
-
Holland isn't going to aggresively pursue Ryan Smyth or any of the other big names. Alot of them are looking for big-paying, long term contracts and as some have already said we need that cap space for our future. Holland's going to take players like Markov who aren't marquis but still valuable and will only cost around $2M.

Koopmans, Howard, Liv We have enough goalies
-
I'd rather Holland traded the First rounder to get two 2nd rounders. I think Smith would've been around.

Columbus is sick of us kicking their ass eight times every year. Also, what?
