    Official 2007 NHL Draft Thread

I hope the Penguins enjoy paying for all their players in a few years. They're going to have the max cap locked up in five players.

Hahaha. Batman Lunchbox. Communist. Bad pick by the Los Angeles Kings.

Sharks deal Toskala/Bell to Maple Leafs

So the Leafs traded their future to San Jose for another goalie? Didn't they give a pretty good prospect to Boston last year for Raycroft?

    New Spam-Prevention Initiative

I tried some spam once. It was nasty. Also one can has two days worth of salt.
  6. If it's a bad venue I'm sure they would build a new one or would get the potential buyer to get a new one.
  7. My problem is with Kansas City. The team they had in the 70's failed both on and off the ice. They played terrible and no one showed up to the games so they moved the team. Fast forward thirty years. The Royals play like crap, and no one shows up to their games either. Also, KC had an IHL team called the Blades and they had problems with attendance, too. They managed to last until the IHL folded in '01 but towards the end there were rumors of them moving to Oaklahoma or other places. Then the UHL Outlaws. One season. The NFL doesn't try to go back, they had a team there that lasted two seasons in the 20's? Why does the NHL feel like going back to a place that has shown multiple times they don't give a s*** about hockey? If Bettman wants to put a team somewhere, why not put one in Seattle or Oregon?

Thanks for screwing us all, Mr. Bettman

Teams Added/Moved Under Bettman: Nordiques (You gotta agree they're just as passionate in Colorado) Winnipeg Jets (OK, Yeah Phoenix sucks) Minnesota (Good) Atlanta (Bad) Hartford (Meh, You could argue that Hartford was doomed from the start, but so is Carolina) Columbus (Done suprisingly well attendance-wise for playing like crap) Nashville (Very bad). Minnesota North Stars (Dallas does well) Out of the last three Stanley Cup winners only Carolina came to be under Bettman's tenure. Anaheim and Tampa Bay were both given franchises under the previous president.

Balsillie wants a Cup run IN NASHVILLE!

Keep the team competitive? What the hell were you guys this year? If you had won two more games, you would have had the Presidents Trophy. There's not much more that could be added to that team that will improve their situation seat-wise, with the exclusion of corporate support or doing well in the playoffs (Enjoy San Jose again this year)

    Congrats Ducks

The greatest championship clinching goal in history.

Anaheim not exactly the new Hockeytown

Haha, the Royals in the finals. Everybody knows the Royals have no grit and couldn't possibly make it in the playoffs.

EA Simulation: Senators win in six games

Last year's simulation was right on the money. It picked the 'Canes in seven. Only difference was that the simulation was done on a different company's game. http://www.contentsimulation.com/news/2006...simulation.html - Second Item. Wow, Edmonton even forced the Game Seven.

Who else went to playoff games?

Went to Rd 1 Gm 5, Rd 2 Gm 2, and Rd 3 Gm 5. The round two game takes the cake, but everyone chanting "Calgary Sucks" at the end of Gm 5 was pretty great too.

After your team is eliminated...who do you root for?

I usually root for the team that beats us. I didn't last year mainly because the Oilers only beat anyone because of Roloson (I was laughing my ass off when Roloson got injured in Game 1). I won't be rooting for the Ducks, though. Pronger plus the fact that bad reffing and luck decided just about every game in our series doesn't really convince me they deserved to win.

    2007 WCF Post-GAME 6: Ducks 4, Red Wings 3

Oh, Versus you assholes. How dare they still play the Game Seven commercials.

WCF Game 6 (5/22) GDT: Red Wings @ Ducks - 9 PM ET

It's not like we're losing anything important this offseason.

WCF Game 6 (5/22) GDT: Red Wings @ Ducks - 9 PM ET

Well, if that game in Chicago taught me anything, two-goal leads are never safe, even with less than a minute left.

    Post-GAME 4 (5/17): Ducks 5, Red Wings 3

Meh, They come and they go. The Ducks looked really good in the 1st period and tapered off after that. If they can find away around that rush (or any other tricks they have up their sleves) the Wings should win.

    Shanahan wants to stay

Nope, both offered $4 Million. Shanny left because he thought the Wings were touting the newer guys like Zetterberg, Filpulla and Hudler too much while making it seem like Shanny and the others were all part of days gone by. That and the fact that its NEW YORK. Not a bad place to end your career.

Why is Lilja the "pain train" ?

I think it was somewhere in this thread: http://www.letsgowings.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=41323 It was come up with after Lilja fought Moen.

    10/4 Playoff Game Discussion

The Pens look confused on that goal. They just stood around while Fleury made save after save until he couldnt keep up.

#8 spot in east decided today by a shootout

Agreed. I'd much rather watch a neverending hockey game than see five minutes of boring trap hockey decide a playoff spot.

    4/7 GDT Blackhawks @ Red Wings...last game!

Really? Wow. Lalime played against us game one in St. Louis last year and had really bad games. Now put him on a much worse Chicago team that doesnt want to be playing still.
